Great place to have large and smaller gatherings. Very welcoming staff and lovely food. Parking very handy. Pity there is no wheelchair accessible toilet..

Absolutely beautiful homemade dinner and dessert here we had half portions which was more than enough Corn Beef and Cabbage dinner and turkey and ham dinners both were delicious and fresh our desserts were apple crumble with Custard you can have ice cream or cream too with this but i wanted custard, enjoyed every minute having our food by the coal fire and the amazing waitress Mary is truly a wonderful lady such a great personality and very professional we drive a long way to have dinner here I highly recommend this place so cosy warm and inviting also credit due to the chef for his excellent food *****

We visited here a few evenings while we were visiting the area. Seems like a low key great place for a few pints. They stop serving food pretty early though.

Super spot, book to avoid disappointment. Great service, fantastic people running the place and top grub. Highly recommended.... Recommend the wings and burger.... Onion rings are top too.

07/04/2026: Overall I was very impressed with the quality of service at Fota Island. The staff were super attentive and friendly. The breakfast was probably the best quality hotel breakfast I’ve had. The food was lovely and there were plenty of options for all diets and preferences. The hotel facilities were well equipped for not only just families but also couples and those looking to relax and unwind as well. If you’re wanting a relaxing place to stay in the south of Ireland then look no further!

29/03/2026: Having grown up in an Irish household where everything is très très bien cuiller, I was a little hesitant when I saw this steak option on the menu was medium rare, but it was absolutely delicious. The entire dining experience was wonderful , great atmosphere, lovely helpful staff. We also were not rushed out the door, which was greatly appreciated, we were able to relax and have dessert and an extra drink at our leisure. We will be back soon.
22/02/2026: Very disappointed overall.Took my son for a special occasion.Very loud on arrival from people at bar counter asked to move but staff member said the group were leaving ( which they did ) .We ordered 2 starters both small ,tasty enough. .However it was the 2 main courses that were so disappointing I ordered the hake ,brocolini and mash and my son ordered the featherblade of beef ,both portions were small ,the broccoli was 2 pieces of tenderstem.My sons beef was small he was starving after it. .With one non alcoholic wine meal came to 92 euro ..I dont mind paying for something if Its filling and good value but we both left hungry .My son went home for a bowl of cereal.Overall very disappointing experience.Wish I had seen previous persons review ( Sarah ) bfore I booked.We had similar experiences.
