Food was good and service was great when we first got there. But it felt like we were actively avoided when we asked for the check.

The rental unit was very clean and decent. Perfect location for visiting restaurants, grocery store, and elsewhere. The restaurant however is pretty lacking in terms of service and some food items not of best quality.

We visited the Helm this weekend for a meal. Our group comprised parents and three adult children. We found the Helm excellent for food, friendliness and general ambience. We had three starters, mussels, black pudding and soup, they were all really good. Our main course was steaks, pork and curry, again, all were excellent. We go regularly to the Helm and always find the staff pleasant, chatty and service is super. Prices were reasonable and we would recommend this restaurant highly to anyone.

We arrived too early for our booking. We met friendly welcoming staff, who checked our table and got us seated in a nice quiet corner. I had the seafood platter which was excellent. My husband had the herb crusted Hake and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall we had a great evening and would highly recommend this restaurant.
