The Pins Gastro Bar in Bearna

So glad to see quality has bounced back here (after a disappointing meal last time around). A year ago if felt like the downstairs Pins restaurant at the Twelve had fell far in the shadows of the upstairs “West restaurant”. It was as if they had put everything into the West and downstair was suffering, but this time around we were delighted to receive a super tasty meal at the Pins with the renowned friendly and professional service that is expected at this great hotel. All courses were delicious and it’s nice to see that they are not letting the place get tired or dated, lovely new leather couches have been added and the bar itself has been tastefully refurbished. Can’t wait to come back again soon.

I recently dined at Pinns Restaurant in Twelve, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The service was impeccable – our server made excellent recommendations and was always nearby if we needed anything without being intrusive. The food was simply outstanding! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. We tried a few different options, and each one was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The chef's attention to detail was clear, and it’s evident they use high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, making it ideal for a special night out. Whether you're a local or just visiting, I highly recommend Pinns for an unforgettable dining experience. Looking forward to my next visit!

A beautiful bar, the interior is sophisticated and chic yet cosy. A very inviting atmosphere. The lunch menu has some great options I'm looking forward to trying. We opted for the Beetroot salad with Goats cheese, it was perfect. I'd certainly recommend 👌

I really miss the lost details. Whether its the quality of smaller food items, eg. homemade chips, sides, or the way the condiments are serves (dishes Vs packages), the attention to detail as where the Twelve stood out to the rest. This is gone.

Pub type food. Good portion sizes but the seaweed fish and chips were disappointing since not much sea weed taste at all, just reasonably good fish and chips. Service was very slow but it was a busy weekend evening. We stayed at the hotel and the breakfast was served here as well and that was excellent with good service.

I normally love the 12 but I was disappointed with this meal. I got the steak sandwich special so was expecting great things however that was not to be today, a few pieces of charred steak, leftover mushrooms and lardons from breakfast and a few slices of chopped red onion - if truth be told this was really a steak croistini. A sandwich, last I checked required two pieces of bread which wasn’t to be found on this plate. Call it what it is. The frozen chips however were in plentiful supply. I know that costs are rising for everyone but €9.40 for a kids ice cream is excessive. I’ve no issue paying €9:40 for the dessert special for an adult as I know alot of work and skill was required from the maître pâtisserie to create. Overall the meal was fine/average but not something you would rush back to re experience.
