Food was weeks old, dirty cups but don’t dare complain because you will regret it
17/07/2025: What an amazing cafe. Filled with artefacts from grandma's place. The coffee was superb. The atmosphere awesome. The scones...best I've ever had. Great conversation with Peter who does all the baking himself.

27/05/2025: We were in Bantry a couple of years ago. My brother and I stopped in while our wives were shopping. We had a couple of pints and struck up a conversation with the barkeep. He had spent the summer in California. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

24/10/2025: This little gem is worth walking an extra 5 minutes from the main square. Visited first with a local and returned with my husband, who is very picky about his mochas.
Lucky for us, Orla—the most gracious and wonderful barista—was there for both visits. In addition to her friendly demeanor, Orla serves up delicious coffee.
Though the delights of Grounded Coffee are served from a cute little food truck, they offer plenty of seating… even a cozy, inside area with heat and comfortable seating. And there are great views too.
Can’t wait to return!

16/11/2025: Me and my uncle were visiting from Belgium and were really looking forward to a nice chicken chow mein. We’re used to the European-style version — grilled, well-seasoned chicken with some soy flavour and crisp vegetables. Unfortunately, the chow mein we received here in Bantry was nothing like that. It was more like a wet, sloppy roast dinner, very soft and gooey, and after a few bites we just couldn’t eat it. I’m genuinely sorry to say it, but it was really disappointing.

20/08/2025: Not impressed really, it's OK here. The food is well presented but fairly bland, dressed with sauces to give it some flavour. This really is a restaurant for older people who stay in the hotel. It tastes like mostly frozen products and at hotel prices. Not for me I'm afraid. Not a bad place, just not good enough to return.

The best thing about the restaurant is the interior.
We had mussels in white wine sauce twice, and until today I couldn't believe it was possible to make them so badly.
The mussels were dry, lukewarm, and came in a mere dollop of sauce.
They tasted as if they had been cooked for a while beforehand and then simply added to the plate with the sauce.
There was more than enough garlic baguette, but for €18.50, there should have been a few more mussels (with some flavor!). The water with fresh lemon served for washing hands was still warmer than the mussels, even after we had finished eating.
Unfortunately, a disappointment with a dish that could have been prepared so easily.

28/07/2025: We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in Moghal Indian Restaurant. Eugene took time to give us recommendations from the menu, depending on our likes and spiciness! He was not at all intrusive while we made our choices. We took Eugene's suggestions which did not disappoint, compliments to the chef, the food was delicious. You can bring your own beer or wine which was brilliant also. Each dish was freshly cooked, piping hot and really tasty. The ambience is relaxed and friendly, special thanks Eugene. Moghal Indian Restaurant in Bantry is well worth a visit as a sit down guest or for a takeaway.

08/05/2025: A weird place for a service station. Very cramped and the fuel is not super cheap. If there are ore than a few cars in the area it is difficult to maneorve. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is a well stocked shop.

31/10/2024: Had an absolutely beautiful toasted special here today. Really fresh ingredients. One of the nicest I've had in a very long time!
