24/04/2025: Takeaway Food. Good food but staff not very engaged. The one-way layout of the small shop means it’s difficult to browse at the counter without being pressured by the customer behind you. There is an obvious reluctance to supply bags fit for purpose too and I was handed three quite large items and expected to balance them in my hands, heading out into the heavy rain. I will return but these things do need to be ironed out if they care about their customer experience.
09/04/2025: Wow. You don’t get deli’s like this everywhere so to find such an excellent, and such good value, place in Bantry was amazing. Just a cuppa, or after amazing cakes and delicious light lunches - then come here. You will not be disappointed.

27/05/2025: We were in Bantry a couple of years ago. My brother and I stopped in while our wives were shopping. We had a couple of pints and struck up a conversation with the barkeep. He had spent the summer in California. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

24/09/2024: As a new resident to Bantry, I looked for a "Local". I found The Boston Bar not very welcoming to new locals, but I did observe that they welcomed visitors and tourists. I found the locals and the bar staff not to be chatty. They served a great pint, but no atmosphere. I am retired and I did not try the bar at night time. I won't be going back there again.

12/05/2025: Tried this place today. Absolutely spotless. Cleanest fish shop I have ever seen. Local food made with heart. Girls are salt of the earth and happy to chat if they aren't busy. Tasty food and girl who served me. Well done. And real tarta sauce.
12/05/2025: Very tasty fish & chips. The chicken fingers were also delicious and well seasoned. Payment only possible in cash.

27/04/2025: The food was very good. The service staff only took moderate care of the guests. The drink was served in a plastic bottle. Not really a standard in a restaurant.
As we sat in the restaurant, I felt like we were in a disco and not an Indian restaurant. It shone and reflected everywhere.

03/05/2025: Am absolutely disgusted with the food at this diner. I asked for breaded scampi but they didn’t cook it all the way through leaving mushy uncooked batter on the inside. When I told them about this, they took the box back to the kitchen and said they’ll “POP IT BACK IN THE FRYER”! HORRIBLY DISGUSTING SINCE I ALREADY TOUCHED THE FOOD. Then the worst part they brought back a CHARRED scampi and expected me to finish it. Everything about this place was horrible to top it all off I found MULTIPLE HAIRS in the salad. They serve such unsanitary food and ought to be shut down due to public health safety hazards! I WOULD GIVE -10,000 STARS IF I COULD!

16/06/2024: Our experience exceeded expectations. We were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary while on holiday. The staff was very accommodating and the food was exceptionally good and not overpriced.

24/09/2024: Really good food in a warm pub setting: the breaded hake I ordered was perhaps the best plate of fish and chips I’ve had in Ireland and my wife loved her dish of cottage pie. Great service, great atmosphere and good prices,
24/08/2024: Arrives au hasard dans ce pub comme il pleuvait, le lieu était bondé alors nous nous sommes installés à 3 au bar. Une soupe du jour excellente et deux salades. Accueil cordial et service rapide.

15/02/2025: I ordered a takeaway as I have done before. I ordered a kebab that was nice. the king prawn was yellow milk with 5 prawns. The jalfrezi wasn’t much better . And mixed grill sizzler was awful The mushroom rice was the best thing in the whole meal
22/01/2025: Excellent samosas to start. Everyone had a different main, the dhansak and beef madras were winners, but all were very happy with their choices. The tarka dhal was also good; creamy and delicious. One member of our group compared the food to an expensive Indian restaurant he eats in regularly and declared this was better. Will return.

08/05/2025: A weird place for a service station. Very cramped and the fuel is not super cheap. If there are ore than a few cars in the area it is difficult to maneorve. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is a well stocked shop.
