13/10/2025: My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Murphy鈥檚 Restaurant in Castletownbere. We started with an excellent prawns and chorizo appetizer and then had the duck dinner and the leg of lamb dinner. We finished with the pavlova. Each dinner had plentiful sides of potatoes, carrots, parsnips, green beans and red cabbage. Everything was fresh, abundant and delicious. Service was very good. We had a lovely chat with the 3rd generation chef/owner who not only cooked a great meal but also made some nice recommendations for our trip. We very highly recommend Murphy鈥檚 to everyone coming to the Beara Peninsula.

25/09/2025: So, it's the only option for lunch in a town with a harbor. It wasn't exactly picturesque, you sit outside with a view of the parking lot and in the background an industrial, probably fishing harbor. So what? The service is pleasant, they keep asking, until we finally managed to order fish soup, crab sandwiches and fried fish fingers. Yes, everything is delicious, at a good price (except for cider for 7.50 EUR), but the selection puts this establishment at the level of a very good bistro. However, the lunch is good and the journey further west of the peninsula can continue.

08/11/2025: Lovely place. We had the crab gratin, brie and local cheese starters and cajun calamari as a main. The portion sizes are perfect. The sea food was very fresh and delicious.

14/09/2025: I had supper twice at Breens in mid-September 2025 and enjoyed both meals thoroughly. Though lord knows I don't need those extra calories, each meal I went with an appetizer, main and desert. The real highlight was the pan seared lemon sole with white wine, lemon and dill sauce I had as a main course. I can't remember ever having a better meal of fish (and I've eaten a LOT of fish!). The desserts and apples were also two thumbs up. The service was also first class - very friedly folks but also quick and helpful without being intrusive and bothersome. While there were a lot of tourists there, there were obviously many locals and regulars there, too, which is a great sign. If you are in Castletownbere and looking for delicious seafood in a friendly atmosphere with fantastic service then give Breens a go - you won't be disappointed!!

La jefa sent贸 a dos nuevos clientes en dos mesas, ante m铆.
No hay cura m茅dica para la codicia de esta mujer.
Absolutamente terrible servicio al cliente.
27/09/2024: Ni siquiera entramos en la puerta, nos despidieron de inmediato con un miembro del personal que estaba tomando un pedido de un cliente con "No tengo nada" al menos dejamos que cerr谩ramos la puerta incluso el otro cliente se sorprendi贸 por su comentario despectivo, esta mujer necesita algunas lecciones de atenci贸n al cliente o entrenamiento, huelga decir que no volveremos y aconsejar铆a a la gente que se mantenga alejada con ese tipo de actitud francamente descuidada y grosera
