27/07/2026: The food was good. The service was fine. The coffee, as others have mentioned, could be better. We had Americano’s. It tasted like instant to us.

20/07/2026: It was an absolute amazing experience... Mia our waitress, speaking in German to us was so thoughtful and helpful... We had the Fish and Chips + Steak... very yummy and can recommand both. I certainly be back and will ask for Mia again. Thank you Btw, Music and Ambiente is stunning... Just the loo could need an upgrade...

05/07/2026: Best pizza ever. Just spent 2 weeks in Italy did not have any pizza to match the pizza from this place 😋

12/06/2026: First it was long wait… got there at the time of collection and was then had to wait another 25 mins. Secondly they got my order wrong… ordered a pepperoni pizza but received a margarita. Very very disappointing. Was the first time and can’t say I will be in a rush back

12/07/2026: Stopped in for a light lunch and tried two salads — the halloumi & hummus and the chicken salad — along with a lemonade, iced tea, and a dessert to finish. The presentation was genuinely lovely and the location itself is bright, comfortable, and welcoming. Quality-wise, though, the food didn’t fully live up to the visuals. Both salads were fine but lacked the flavour punch you’d expect at this price point, and the dessert felt more average than memorable. Still, the service was friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, and overall it was a pleasant visit. A solid spot for a casual meal, but with room to improve on taste to match the great presentation.

02/07/2026: The Cock Tavern is the architectural equivalent of a magic trick. From the street it looks like a perfectly ordinary neighborhood pub, but the moment you step inside, the place unfolds like a labyrinth designed by someone who refused to believe in straight lines. Every turn reveals another room, another bar, another cozy corner, and before long you’ve completely lost any sense of direction. It’s the sort of pub where you could swear you’ve explored the whole place, only to discover yet another doorway leading to another hidden space. The atmosphere is wonderfully old-school, with character packed into every inch of the building. It feels like generations have simply added another room whenever they ran out of space rather than ever considering a new building. The result is a glorious maze that somehow works perfectly. Even the men’s restroom deserves a mention. Complete with an old-fashioned trough urinal, it’s a little piece of pub history that’s becoming increasingly rare to find. Strange as it sounds, details like that add to the feeling that you’re experiencing a proper old pub that’s stayed true to itself instead of chasing modern trends. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for, and the whole place has the kind of charm that can’t be manufactured. The Cock Tavern isn’t just somewhere to grab a drink. It’s somewhere to explore. Every corner has its own personality, and every room feels like it has a hundred stories waiting to be told. Five stars for proving that you should never judge a pub by its frontage.

25/07/2026: On our little tour of Ireland one of our stays was in Swords. This restaurant was recommended and definitely did not let us down. The food was really nice and the service was brilliant. Big 👍 from me

20/07/2026: 3 stars because the prices are absolutely outrageous. €18.50 for a Diavola pizza… I've worked in many pizzerias throughout my life, and the most expensive pizza on the menu was one topped with Culatello di Zibello (one of the most prestigious cured meats in Italy), and it cost €18. Three supplì for €11 is also excessive, especially considering that in Rome and Milan you can easily pay much less. That said, we ended up paying €88 for one appetizer, three supplì, two pizzas (a Diavola and an 'Nduja pizza), two drinks, and two desserts. In my opinion, that's an unreasonable price for a pizzeria. It's more in line with what you'd expect to pay at a proper restaurant—especially if you had ordered a bottle of wine! 😂 ITALIAN TRANSLATION 3 stars because the prices are HUNTING €18.50 for a diavola... I've worked in many pizzerias in my life, and the most expensive pizza on the menu was one with Culatello di Zibello (the most renowned in Italy) and cost €18. 3 supplì €11, something we know we pay much less for in Rome and Milan. 25/07/2026: I had breakfast with my friend and the pancakes were delicious and freshly made unlike some other cafes where they are precooked. What made our experience even more special was having the lovely Holly looking cater out table. She knew when she was needed and when to leave us to chat. Having worked in the hospitality industry all of my life I watched how well she looked after other tables. She is so good at her job and such a lovely young lady 🩷 Good job Holly. You will do well in life with your personality and attitude 👌

23/07/2026: Hollie and team were really nice, courteous, helpful, and didn't rush us at closing time. Food was delicious..no other word for it! Plentiful, fresh, beautifully presented.
