20/02/2026: This was a fantastic choice for breakfast. The staff were so friendly and attentive. It was packed busy so amazing how quickly I was helped and checked on. From the minute I walked in to door to the minute I left I had friendly greetings and service; this means a lot when solo traveling. The food was delicious and incredible value. The place was spotless, including sparkling clean washrooms. I highly recommend coming here!

01/02/2026: Will NEVER darken their doorway again!
For years I've been going to the Interlude, meeting friends for cuppa scone and a chat.
Today I went in there, on my own, looking for a scone and coffee, was asked if I had a reservation, in a sneery voice, when I said I hadn't, that was it......I wouldn't mind, hardly a table had a reservation, most tables were empty. It only takes less than15 mins to eat a scone and drink a coffee, when you are on your own.
Thank God, there are so many more fantastic eateries in beautiful Dungarvan, that accept someone wanting to be there on there own.
I never asked for my husband to die, we always went there together.
Maybe it was because I use a walking stick?
Goodbye Interlude and good riddance, I will never enter your doors again.
One very disgruntled long time customer.

15/02/2026: Breakfast food ok 5 of us in total had fill Breakfast hit or miss eyes undercooked on 2 undercooked on 1 . Tea toast arrived 5 mins before hot breakfast so toast then cold mushrooms arrived with a spice mixed in then horrible and rubbery liked canned or frozen rashers obviously batch cooked and kept warm some were browned some not.Place was very cold in there jackets had to be left on.

07/02/2026: We stayed the night in the townhouse and had our main and breakfast included.
All in a great one night getaway in a luxurious well appointed room and wonderful food and atmosphere for the meal
04/01/2026: I ordered mussels for starters, whist they were good, I was well gone through them when the dish arrived for shells another dish with the water n lemon juice but nothing to dry your hands. Desert was nothing to boast about. .The cost was overpriced and I will not return.

11/01/2026: We stayed as a large group split over three apartments. It was perfect. Very friendly, central location and comfortable.
22/11/2025: Sorry but, not for me, room small, extremely noisy, other guests arriving back very late, and could hear every sound. Went to boil kettle, to find it half full with dirty cloudy water. Self service breakfast cold. Even though cost is low, I still expect good clean basic service.

01/11/2025: I don’t know why this hotel has such a low rating… The rooms were good… The staff were phenomenal. Sure it is a bit dated but that adds to the charm. I only request would be for them to add beans back onto the breakfast menu.

Anchor Bar

10/08/2025: Had a pint and a generous glass of wine on heated area in front of the bar. Lovely location lovely view of the harbor and a lovely price.
09/07/2025: We a family of 4 walked upon The Anchor while visiting Dungarvan. As it looked busy we decided to have lunch. Glad we did. We had two fresh cod and chips and two burgers and chips. The fish was fresh and tasty. The burgers were Devine and portions large. Highly recommend The Anchor for food if you in Dungarvan. Lovely clean pub in a beautiful setting overlooking the harbour.
