The best restaurantsof irish in Waterford

30/03/2026: We went to this restaurant for dinner as it was closer to our hotel. It ended up being one of the most memorable night in Ireland, or actually, ever. We've never been treated like a long lost family from total strangers. Melisa, his wife Martha, and the son, Christian were unbelievable people. If this is the Irish spirits then wow, count me in! Melissa was so warm, chatty, friendly to go along with fantastic food!! He came to sit and chatted for a bit. As good as the food and drinks were, the hospitality and the way they make you feel is 10x better! If you ever come near Waterford, you must come visit the Grattans, and hang out with your new found family!! We even got a pic behind the bar with them. We'll be back for sure! If I could give 10 stars for service and friendliness, I would.

22/03/2026: We had a family gathering for Trish's "significant" birthday last Friday. What a brilliant night! The setting, the atmosphere, the service, the food...all top class. We had three children with us (ages 5 & 7) and Kamila made a special fuss over them making them feel very much at home and generating a very happy atmosphere around the table. A visit to this fabulous restaurant is always a treat but Friday night was extra special. Míle buíochas mór from all the Kavanaghs!

21/03/2026: This is honestly the best service I’ve seen in Ireland in my 20 years working in gastronomy. The two ladies working here are incredible — they’re worth a million to this bar, and they’re what truly make it special. First of all, they’re beautiful, professional, and incredibly well-organized. Together, they complement every aspect of this place perfectly. Everyone here feels happy and well taken care of. The highest respect for the service here — and of course, the food is top-level too, from traditional Irish dishes to a mix of international cuisine. Personally, this is my favorite bar so far.

15/03/2026: It was very busy, but despite this we were seated in a few minutes, served quickly and checked in on regularly! The food was fabulous, it's a lovely pub too!

02/04/2026: Lovely hotel, great location, room was perfect and had everything. Every single member of staff were great, with a special mention to Stephen on the residents bar/night porter. Have booked again for another break away.

04/04/2026: Had a great time at Geoff's today for lunch. Called to reserve a table and the manager said they will keep a seat for us. Got there, got seated, and had a great time. Shout out to Alex who answered the email query and Sam at the bar who got us sorted!

01/04/2026: A wonderfully cozy pub – exactly how I imagine a pub should be! The pie of the day (beef) was excellent, served without extra chips, but with a green salad and haddock with chips! The staff was very attentive and friendly, never intrusive – truly lovely hosts 👌🫶 made our visit perfect! 🙏

15/03/2026: Lovely cafe for a family brunch. They were so accommodating when we were very early after a short mass up the road. Food was great and young staff very helpful.

06/04/2026: Oh my goodness... what a food. Chicken Burger was just amamzing 😍 🔥. Wings were truly delicious l. I ordered hot sauce wings. My wife went with soup of the day , mushroom soup. Let me tell you, haven't had such soup any where in Dublin. My friends ordered veg fajita and stir fry those were awesome and worth the bite.

11/12/2025: My son and I had the most beautiful dinner today in Lizzie Briens, ,every thing was perfect and so fresh, really home made cooking at its best, we also got dessert which was also homemade and so delicious. I would highly recommend this amazing restaurant and can’t wait to return again if ever in Lismore. 10 out of 10 for everything, service, food and friendly staff.

10/04/2026: Beautiful spot in Dunmore East 🌊 I really enjoyed my visit to The Strand Inn. The views are absolutely stunning, and since it was a very cold day, the wood-burning stove made the experience feel extra cozy and special 🔥 The service was excellent, friendly and attentive throughout. Food-wise, the deep fried brie was delicious, although I didn’t love the green pepper jam — I think it would work much better with a cranberry sauce. The fish and chips were great: super fresh fish and very tasty overall. A lovely place to relax, enjoy good food, and take in the incredible scenery.

08/04/2026: Make sure you check to see when they stop serving food. It's right by the water but no food had to find another spot.

26/03/2026: A standout vegan dining experience at Everett's. We reserved a 3-course vegan menu a day in advance and were impressed by how smoothly everything was handled—from prompt email confirmation to accommodating our request for a high chair and space for a stroller in a cozy setting. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Drinks arrived quickly (the Irish Old Fashioned is excellent), and every vegan dish was thoughtful, creative, and clearly made with care—far from the uninspired options vegans often encounter. What really stood out was the effort to include vegan guests in a true fine-dining experience. It felt considerate on a human level, not just a menu checkbox. If you’re vegan and comfortable dining at an omnivore restaurant, this is absolutely worth going out of your way for.

15/03/2026: Food was great, service generally great and staff very polite but used side plates were left blocking up the table and water wasn’t refilled without asking /coats weren’t taken etc.. small things that didn’t detract from a great meal overall. Could do with turning up the heating a little!

17/03/2026: A lovely pub with a very large selection of Irish whiskey. The landlord is also very knowledgeable about whiskey and has a particularly wide selection of Waterford whiskeys.
