Ambrose Moloney's

Courtown harbour
05/01/2025: Nice quiet place for afternoon coffee, with relaxing atmosphere, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating space and nice welcoming staff and the coffee is good :-) recommended :-)
09/11/2024: Awful! Never again. Entered the pub to get some dinner with my little dog in my arms. The reception was anything but welcoming. Lashing rain outside and very few customers inside. We were told we would have to go outside. We have visited twice before and had breakfast with our dog so it is incomprehensible. Anyway we will never go there again. The weather was atrocious and I wouldn't even put a human out in it!

Chipmongers

Enniscorthy
09/02/2025: As I sit outside the chipper I wonder, I can't seem to find where they made this blunder. I asked for a club but they gave me a Coke, it went almost as far as making my order revoked. The chips were nice but the cod was great, I can't quite see why they get the hate. Thanks to all the staff at the Chipmongers, have a great day and keep feeding the hunger.
12/01/2025: Hadn’t been here in a while. Got the fish and chip meal. Awful! The fish batter was completely soggy and undercooked. Didn’t stick to the fish at all. I managed to eat just the fish which was tasteless but all the batter went in the bin. Only heard after that it has changed hands. Matter of time before it closes for good if this is the kind of food they are serving.

22/09/2024: Food great, but cleanliness of cups and dishes disgusting.... Small plates at scones had dirt on every single one today. Tea Cups are all stained and had bits of dirt in them too. Had to get 5 cups before i got one that was 'useable'. You can also feel the grit on the plates and cups from not being washed thoroughly. Need to look at cleaning more closely, and put some form of quality control in place, the youngsters working there don't seem to care..... Its a huge pity because the chef is good and the food is brilliant. Next time i'll ask for a disposable plate and a takeaway coffee cup :/
13/08/2024: Tasty food, helpful and friendly staff. Had lunch here with our family of four while waiting for our tour. Clean environment and overall very pleasant experience.

Irish ferries

Rosslare
16/09/2024: Have used the Stena line and in future will stick to the Stena Line. Communication from Irish Ferries is extremely poor, in fact nonexistent. No one contacted to advise us of the change in boat and therefore facilities. When we asked on board it was just a contact them yourself attitude. I did email and received no apology, so I further asked when was the update email prior to sailing for when the change of facilities. No reply. We booked and paid for the Club Class on the Rosslare to Pembroke only on arrival to be told that on this boat it didn't exist. There was only 1 working toilet on thr boat for women which meant large queues and foul smelling for the duration. On the whole the boat felt outdated, grubby and as the cost was the same as the Stena very overpriced. Never again, I'll stick to the much better value and conditions of Stena for this crossing.
04/09/2024: Irish ferries Rosslare Sailed on the 14.45 crossing from Pembroke to Rosslare. Bad weather meant the crossing was delayed - completely fair enough - but on arrival we were kept on the car deck waiting for over 45 minutes. No explanation. Could not have been due to the weather as it had passed by then and we were securely docked. We missed a restaurant booking due to this, so no food for us. I emailed the company suggesting compensation - no chance. I then emailed again suggesting perhaps an upgrade to Club Class on our return trip as a tiny, tiny apology. They couldn’t be bothered to even reply. So…. Dear Irish Ferries. 1) What was the problem with getting the bow doors to open on arrival? 2) Why are you so extremely rude as to not reply to my second email?

Sharky's

30/12/2024: Not at all. Over an hour for take out delivery. Really rude server. Yet to get food. Really rubbish. Not recommended for anyone.
22/12/2024: Without a doubt , the worst fish and chips I have ever been served. My wife had the smoked cod, was thinner than a slice of sliced bread. The batter was practically non existant. Now to the ray that I ordered. I come from Raytown (Ringsend) It was disgraceful. To serve what I got was just horrendous. Inside the overcooked thin lair of batter was the smallest piece of Ray I have ever seen. I've been eating Ray all my life and this was the worst I have ever been served. The excuse I was given was that is all they could buy from their supplier. To which I replied , why did you buy it if it is inferior. And then try to pawn it off on customers. Needless to say Sharkys will never see us again. Dreadful food and the staff with their take it or leave it attitude was not a lot to be proud of.
