food was gorgeous plenty of it breakfast was spot on soup was delicious
Bacon last week was moist and thick cuts of meat .. proper plate dinner
Chicken strips starter with brown bread great value for money
Last day it was beef and it melted in my mouth they even went to bother to offer me different veg due to diet restrictions mernique is delicious
Plenty of parking decor is outstanding
Highly recommend visit breakfast lunch dinner very reasonable priced too
Staff are amazing

16/03/2026: My mum, sister and I went for my mum's birthday lunch with my baby niece.
We were all seated and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and inviting.
The food then was another thing, I have lived in new ross for 24 years and I have never thought of coming here, but the food was absolutely top notch, big portions, beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
I'd come back here everytime for lunch now.

12/12/2025: Four of us had food here the other day.I really enjoyed my trio of fish.It was so fresh.The others thought the food was just ok,except the chowder which was described as poor.
At the end of the night I asked the barman for a lge bottle of white lemonade.It cost €5 for a 1.25 litre.I thought this was a bit dear and he said well I can always keep it and make even more money selling dashes(I thought that was a little smart)Apart from him the staff were really nice.All the girls serving behind the bar and serving the tables were really good,made sure you were looked after and checked if you needed anything.They were also helpful in telling me about the area.
Next day Because of the barman and the quality of the food we had something to eat elsewhere.While the same price,the food was much better.The place is fine for a pint and a chat with the staff(the friendly ones) but Im sorry we forked out over €200 for food and drinks when we would have gotten better nearby.

21/03/2026: Had a beautiful meal with family last night in the Thomas Moore tavern, the staff were exceptional and so accommodating! The food was also delicious and not over pricy. Would definitely recommend!!

01/01/2026: The Wheelhouse Café is a lovely place to stop after visiting the castle. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it feels very relaxed and friendly. The coffee was excellent and the food was fresh and tasty, perfect for a break after walking around. The staff were kind and attentive, which really adds to the experience. It’s a great little café in a beautiful location, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The service was incredible, attentive, fast, friendly, and correct.
I also want to highlight the prices, better than in Dublin, with typical Irish food, both in quantity and quality.
The downstairs is a small supermarket with takeout, and upstairs is the restaurant, a cozy and charming place.

18/12/2025: First time here, not sure I would be back even though the food was tasty. I called ahead to order, asking if they take card payments, I was told no and that I could take money out in Centra at the ATM if needed. Order was a little slow but when it came to pay, I handed in the cash, 30 euros. I never heard so much complaining because I didn't have the exact change. Talking under his breath and making a big deal. If you don't take card payments and it's cash only, you should be able to give me back 6 euros without hassle and making me feel bad acting like I handed you a 100euro note.

02/02/2026: We had our wedding reception at the Upton Court Hotel 21/01/2026, and from start to finish the experience was absolutely amazing. Shane and all of the staff were incredible, so professional, kind, and attentive throughout the entire process. All dietary requirements were catered for without any fuss, and the food was outstanding, with many compliments from our guests. The guest rooms were nice and very comfortable, again receiving lots of positive feedback. From the moment of arrival, there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel that put everyone at ease.
A very special thank you to Shane for all of his support, guidance, and attention to detail, nothing was ever too much trouble, and it truly made our day stress-free and unforgettable. We couldn’t recommend Upton Court Hotel highly enough.

15/10/2025: Weren't advised that the course was only playing 13 holes until arrival. Man behind counter fairly content that a tenner off was more appropriate than calling non members in advance to advise of course shortcomings. Long journey wasn't wasted as we played Bunclody which is a better course.

24/04/2025: Got chips and a battered sausage on the way home from work. Have to say they are the worst chips I've ever had. Absolutely burnt and tastes like they were reheated.they were also not fresh chips definitely frozen one. Also the battered sausage was not much better. Batter was not crispy at all. Again like it was reheated in the microwave. Would not recommend this place
