I would recommend it to anyone staying down there or even driving through the town stop off it's worrh it
02/04/2024: It is the best tartar sauce in the entire country!
The chips are the run of the mill chips like you get anywhere and the portions are very generous.
The fish is two portions of fish in one order which for me is an amazing surprise as I just like the fish!
I do highly recommend this chipper as the outside eating area is very spacious overlooking the ocean with a lot of parking across the way.

27/02/2024: Fiona is the most wonderful soul and our time with her at the pub has become a highlight of our trip.
We walked in with my joy to try what we've heard from locals to be "the best pint of Guinness in the city" and were warmly welcomed by Fiona. Immediately she took care of us and we saw how she provided great info to a lady who was looking for a bite and gave recommendations and offered her knowledge for her need.
She created a beautiful atmosphere with the folks there, making us feel welcome and cared for. It was at this time, that my girlfriend really wanted to stay because she was charmed by Fiona, her heart, and sweet energy.
I can safely say this truly was the best pint of Guinness I've ever had through my time in the US and our journey in Ireland thus far. But more than that, Fiona represents the kind of people we always hope to meet in our travels. Her hospitality, charm, and kindness represents the heart of this place and the heart of our travels to this wonderful country.
18/02/2024: The service was terrible from the minute we arrived we waited 15 minutes to be brought to our table. We had to order drinks to go with our meal several times and then wait a long time to get the drinks. The food we did receive was nice. To top it off our dreadful evening of service, we were given dessert menus about 20 minutes after we finished the mains and then after waiting for over 40 minutes for someone to take our order for dessert we got fed up and left. The waitors didnt seem to know what tables they were serving. More organisation needed !!!! And the place wasn't extremely busy to warrant such awful service. Possibly the worst table service that we have ever received. We got up to pay and seen 2 of the waitors standing around having the chats!!!! We complained to the manager after spending nearly €100 on our evening without dessert and she gave us €7▪︎50 exactly off our bill. It was an insult to be honest. Not a place we would return too to be honest. I don't normally leave reviews but I felt so annoyed with the whole evening 😒

02/04/2024: Lovely Hotel.Central location,close to the town.Staff were very friendly(Reception,Restaurant,cleaners & leisure centre) & helpful from the minute we arrived.We arrived a bit early but the room we requested was available(thank you Savanah).Breakfast was lovely,nice to get the fry served fresh to your table.Room was a lovely size.Seating area at reception was great.Changing room,pool area very well kept.Well done to all.We had a lovely break.Thank you.We will return once you remain competitive.
29/03/2024: Stayed in a deluxe room over the Easter break. Close proximity to Gorey town. The room size was good but quite dated, in particular the bathroom which really let the room down. A few stains on the carpet and marks on the wardrobe - could definitely do with some modernising. Service and check quite poor, on two occasions I couldn’t even contact reception. The biggest shock of all room service didn’t appear to be available - I tried to order a sandwich and was told we would be charged extra but wait for it - they had no coleslaw!!. Breakfast was decent with something for everyone. All in a score of 6/10 would be fair.

22/11/2023: We had two excellent meals in Tir na nÓg during a week's stay in the area. How I wish we had a chef serving this calibre of food in our town.
The first meal was for three people at lunchtime. At that meal, two of us chose the chicken breast filled with stuffing enhanced by black pudding. An unusual but delicious combination. The accompaniments were mash and perfectly cooked veg. The meat was deliciously juicy, probably the best chicken breast I've ever had. Our companion had a very good steak sandwich which came with chips and salad. Again this was a tender and tasty piece of meat cooked to perfection. The meal for three, including teas and coffee was €58.00.
Our second meal, this time for two in the evening, was outstanding. I had Featherblade beef which had obviously been slow cooked. It was melt in the mouth and gorgeously flavoursome. The mash and veg finished the dish nicely. My companion had a super homemade burger. The meat was succulent and was garnished with caramelised onions, cheese and topped with smoky bacon. It beat any Dublin burger hands down. It came with veg by request. Including tea, coffee and two pints, the bill was less than €50! A gourmet bargain in our estimation.
All this and really nice, pleasant and helpful staff. What more could you ask?

11/12/2023: Excellent market filled with delicious treats ranging from fresh produce to prepared dishes for takeout. A bit pricey, but conveniently located in Howth for basic necessities.
