Afternoon Tea At the Ashdown Park Hotel

20/09/2023: This is my second time staying here and it honestly keeps getting better. I was here with a group of Japanese business people and they were also very impressed. Firstly and above all else, the staff are absolutely fantastic. From the amazing lady on the front desk giving Japanese greetings and, taking extra time to explain the layout of the hotel. Right through to the restaurant and bar staff who, went above and beyond to accommodate our large group. I truly cannot speak highly enough about them. They are all so friendly and welcoming, nothing was a problem. The hotel is lovely and ideally located. My room was way beyond what I expected. I got an upgraded room, which I believe was a suite. It was huge and the bed was so comfortable, the bathroom had a free standing bath and a great shower. I loved staying here and hopefully I will return soon. Thank you all so much. 5 star's.

Es wurde oft geguckt, ob wir noch da sind, es wurde aber nicht gefragt, ob wir noch was möchten und das Geschirr wurde, obwohl das Essen sichtbar beendet war, nicht abgeräumt. Es wurde auch nicht beim Abschied gegrüßt. Habe sowas in Irland und Schottland noch nicht erlebt.

17/09/2023: Food was lovely nice traditional dishes that you no longer see on a lot of menus. The service was good however I felt like we were being rushed out the door from the moment we entered, knew we needed to give the table back by 8pm however we nearly could have given it back by 7 at the rate they were trying to go at. We had ordered, ate starters and were starting mains inc a well done steak all within half an hour, on a lunch break you want to be that efficient but not for a romantic meal out It felt there was constantly someone at our table. We both ordered steak which came with garlic potatoes but we only got one dish to share so luckily we had ordered an extra portion of mash. Partner just ordered fillet but still charged the same as surf and turf. We ordered 3 desserts, the mars cheesecake was very bland no notes of mars at all felt like a generic packaged cheesecake. The baileys creme brulee although nice really lacked any taste of baileys. The chocolate fudge was lovely. Overall a nice meal but perhaps in future would book for a later sitting so as not to be rushed out.

20/09/2023: Iv have just left Uptown court establishment,and I have seldom experienced such awful food.Its like as if someone mixed left over chicken and random food put in a slop sauce into microwave, only barley warm.served it up as chicken pie.I actually feel sick,I barley eat it.
I had already chosen pork,but sent it back ,as unable to cut it or chew it.
Awful .
You need to get better quality food,sack the chef , brighten the whole place up. My granddaughter could put up a better meal than this.

05/09/2023: We just went for a meal here after arriving in Kilmuckridge on a Friday evening. Menu looked fine and appetising alas it was a fairy tale. I ordered pasta which was supposed to have bacon and chicken in a pesto sauce. No chicken, no pesto and no flavour. Fish and steakhouse chips, one burnt piece of fried chips with frozen chips. Cajun chicken burger, semi grilled chicken with no flavour. For the pleasure of eating these tasteless meals we paid nearly €50. Oh, and we were subjected to children having tantrums and screaming in the background. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE. Faired much better on the Saturday night with a great pizza deal from the village outdoor eating place. 😋

08/09/2023: Food is okay. An issue is that with a regular burger, the onions should be fried and not raw. The taco chips weren't great. There was little mince, which was an odd green colour but probably due to spices, with sauce that wasn't taco but mayo and chilli sauce mixed together. The mix was awful tasting. The chips were very nice tasting. Very large portions which is great. The shop itself looks very run down and really needs a good scrub as it gives off an 'unclean' feeling.
