11/05/2025: As for the food, I can’t really comment — I never got the chance to try it, and that’s exactly why I’m writing this. I waited for 20 minutes outside, even though there were more than eight empty, clean tables with no reservation signs. This is a pretentious, American-style restaurant that deliberately holds lines at the door to create the illusion of being busy. The staff were passive-aggressive, asking us to ‘stay in the correct spot’ as if the unnecessary line — created by them — justified their attitude.
Avoid places like this. Choose one of the smaller local restaurants instead — they actually understand the meaning of hospitality.

19/05/2025: Super good, one of the best places to eat on our trip.
The service was incredible, attentive, fast, friendly, and correct.
I also want to highlight the prices, better than in Dublin, with typical Irish food, both in quantity and quality.
The downstairs is a small supermarket with takeout, and upstairs is the restaurant, a cozy and charming place.

The chef was great and had time to have a good chat with us with lots off details about the local area
We were the first people in but within half an hour the place was full and buzzing
His wife was lovely

30/04/2025: I would liked to have tried the food but on two separate occasions the kitchen has shut ??? Once at 7.45.and 8.30 . To me it looks like when the cats away the mice will play.!! Never again will try to eat there again !!
27/04/2025: I really enjoyed the food and service here. I've been a few times for drinks but will definitely eat here again.

Afternoon Tea At the Ashdown Park Hotel

10/05/2025: We had lunch in the Ashdown Bar and Restaurant we both had haddock ...the fish itself was lovely but both the cauliflower and dressing it was served with was very disappointing barely cooked almost raw and impossible to eat ...it came with boiled potatoes which were not editable green inside we did get some chips as a replacement but equally poor...we had two coffees my coffee was cold and really just tasted like milk I did ask for it to be reheated bit it came back the same and I did not drink it...the Hotel is beautifully kept and the grounds are amazing...we have eaten in the bar on a few occasions and it was lovely but unfortunately not so on this visit...perhaps if we return it will be back to its usual high standard ...
02/05/2025: Excellent hotel we loved our weekend there and the kids and we can't wait to take our granddaughter there aswell
