10/11/2025: Absolutely fantastic experience ā great food, excellent service, and a 6-star ambience! You can truly relax and enjoy your meal while listening to the soothing sound of the river. Bonus points for being open from 9 AM to 9 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, even though Google still lists their hours as only until 7 PM.

03/12/2025: Great location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The food in the restaurant was very good and the bar was fun. The little extras such as the coffee stand made it stand out.
25/11/2025: Overall we had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. Itās in a great location, clean rooms with nice toiletries and not much to complain about. However, I would say there is some slightly false advertising which I will address below:
Pros:
- fantastic location in the heart of Dublin
- despite being central the hotel was quiet and we didnāt hear hardly any street noise
- clean and tidy, well stocked and lovely toiletries
- room tidied daily
- good food menu
- air con (although itās manned - see reviews)
- nice bar area and good bar staff
- stylish lobby area with coffee shop
- cozy king bed - had a good sleep
- perfect for a short stay
- safe luggage storage room
Cons:
- rooms quite compact (good for short stay but perhaps nothing over 3 days due to lack of luggage space)
- advertised as having Netflix but did not
- lobby area advertises pizza until 12am but went down at 10pm and told kitchens were shut
- no room service
- speakers didnāt work
- told we were not allowed to eat in lobby and then saw someone an hour later eating a pizza ordered from Bambinoās (same lady who told us we couldnāt eat ours roaming lobby at same time)
- no lock on bathroom door
Overall, I would recommend the hotel for a short stay in Dublin and would return.

28/09/2025: One of the best restaurants in Lucan/Leixlip/Celbridge/Maynooth area. The Dover sole meuniĆØre was simply outstanding. Better than fish Iāve had in Sole Dublin. Service was great too. Sound bunch!

18/07/2025: Restaurant is nice and cosy however the customer service is beyond terrible,just a bunch of kids awkwardly standing there. We had to wait an hour and twenty mins for our food. The price is not worth what you get, portions are very small. Terrible service, long wait and have the nerve to slap on 15% service charge for that experience. There was 11 of us, not likely any of us will be back!
02/07/2025: It used to be good but now it has deteriorated. There is no flavor, no taste.
How can chef make the veg pakoras which are not properly cooked . Itās bizzare.
Literally, the gram flour is raw inside.
If someone is paying for food then can at least expect this much.

08/07/2025: We had a lovely meal but more importantly, the pints were lovely, no line cleaner taste. Friendly staff, lovely character to the building.

27/05/2025: Could not be a worse experience. Service was beyond appalling. Male server got the drinks order wrong, even after confirming it with us. No apology just into a huff. Customer service was non existent. Anyways, ordered pulled pork wrap. Absolutely terrible, no flavour, no rub or sauce used. Pork was hard, not shredded or pulled. Stuffed in some dry lettuce, no onion, no jalapeƱos, no cheese, no beans, no rice. Awful in every way. Place was deserted when we went in. Can see why. Sad

26/10/2025: We have organised a baptism which was cancelled by the office staff. On first contact the arrangements were made no problems, said two children could take the sacrament together. Forms signed, information given and still no issues. Until Tuesday this week when mother rang just to confirm and was told, the older children can't take part. When asked why told would have to wait till others her age wanted to make theirs... welcoming Christianity, suffer the little children to come on to me... so hypocritical.. should be ashamed of themselves, they older child was well aware of the sacrament and what's its meaning is. A church like this should not carry the name Christian.
09/10/2025: My partner rang the church left a message and missed a call so he called back and was basically met with a rude lady, who was rude and curt because he had Missed the call.How dare she behave like this, when he was arranging a mass for a family member.The lack of empathy and compassion has shocked me. Very disappointing.

30/11/2025: Food is really tasty. Lots to choose from. Daily specials, friendly staff. Lunch or dinner options. Cater for groups as well as a person by themselves.
22/11/2025: Canāt get service, we walked in at 1pm , shown to our table , handed the menus and forgotten about . The place was dead . Three other tables waiting on service. I locked eyes with the waiter twice as he walked by me , no one at the bar . This isnāt the first time it has happened. . Iām living in Celbridge fifteen years and always try to support local pubs and restaurants as the hospitality sector is really struggling. Maybe this isnāt the case for McMahons .
