The best restaurants in Kildare

10/12/2024: I love coming here for lunch, brunch and even breakfast sometimes. We also have gotten take away numerous times and it's my go to for take away coffee while out walking! Their gluten free club sandwich is my favourite. The gluten free bread is delicious, as is their protein balls. Also their soup is very tasty, especially the spiced sweet potato and coconut one! The staff are always so friendly and accommodating too.

13/11/2024: You would well know they take pride in what they do, everything was spot on . Just come down and try the open sandwiches. The rest will fall into place. Enjoy 😉😉😉

31/12/2024: Had a meal with my family today to end the year To say disappointing is an understatement Kids had wings which were bland The fish and chips which was supposed to be cod was pollock and the mushy peas skins were like nails The pasta was totally tasteless Complained to bar man at end having paid €110 his reaction did not know what to do Won’t return here not impressed

12/01/2025: Discovered this place a few years ago. Been back numerous times when passing to or from Dublin. Never disappoints. Amazing food, lovely staff, and very competitive prices for quality food. Highly recommend.

06/01/2025: Ended up having to stop unexpectedly because of a snowstorm and booked a modest room at the inn. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and QUIET! I ate at the Silken Thomas restaurant for dinner. The prices are slightly higher than most pub grub, but the food was delicious. The staff have been pleasant and helpful. I most definitely will recommend this inn and restaurants to others and hope to come back with my partner.

15/11/2024: Very kind staff and even better food, great recommendations on things to do while visiting Ireland - stopped here just to fuel up and ended up being one of the better meals we have had here. Well done!

15/11/2024: Absolutely lovely place. Didn't know where to eat out so I looked at reviews and menus. This place was bang on. I had the ham hash omg cooked from scratch. Himself had a full Irish. Nothing was left on the plates let me tell you. If you want good quality and freshness this is the place. Pricing is good aswell. Staff are lovely and friendly can't beat the good Irish warm welcome. I like to support local small business that's what makes a community. Place is spacious presentation is fantastic. Unfortunately I didn't get time to take a picture of the food as I was too busy looking at how good it was and we tucked right in. 😁 Keep up the good work. We will be back.

20/10/2024: Excellent little coffee bar. The coffee is brilliant and well priced. The hot and cold food options are great. Highly recommend the Mellow Sausage Muffin. They have lovely range of GF options too. All their food and bakes are made in house fresh each day and did I mention they are DOG friendly too. Lovely place to chat with friends, grab a quick bite or treat the kids to a post match hot chocolate and a cake! ❤️☕

19/12/2024: Upon opening the door you are just immersed in a clay an inviting space. The little cosy bar inside the entrance affords customers time to enjoy a drink on arrival or after they've finished in the dining area. It was festively decorated for the Christmas period when we visited and we felt bad when it came time to leave. The atmosphere in the dining room was nice and relaxed with complimentary lighting and furnishings. We had the prawns and French onion soup to start, turkey & ham and blade of beef for main courses along with some root vegetables and chips for sides. All were top drawer with just the right portion size. There was nothing left on anyone's plate and yet we were all satisfied that we'd had enough. The staff are very attentive and friendly and I see on social media their menu changes quite regularly so that in itself is a reason to already return.

19/12/2024: Staff are amazing, Coffee & cakes are always lovely and cozy atmosphere where you can bring your dogs. The only cafe I know in the town that offers this ! Will always return here

11/11/2024: My boyfriend and I where visiting from Galway and we had the most amazing experience here. We were staying in Kildare for 3 nights and after a delightful first impression we made sure to visit each night. The staff on every night were attentive, friendly and knew how to have the crack. Great pints of Guinness were had and it was made all the better by the company of the locals who made you feel so welcomed. We will certainly be back again in the future.

12/12/2024: Will never recommend this place to anyone. We stopped in for Breakfast and was looking forward to it as we heard good things about the place, safe to say what we heard was completely wrong. Food was cold, portion sizes are actually shambolic for the price they charge. Food was cold, cremated toast that was cold and as hard as the table. How things were so bad is beyond me as the place was quiet, the chef seriously needs to up his game as I would be embarrassed to serve that sort of food to people. Overpriced and terrible food.

30/10/2024: What a place!!!!!!! If you are a tourist, don't be afraid, it's locals place and there you will find a proper Kildare Town welcome. All of them beer drinkers are locals and what a characters you will find. I remember one of them even offered me to share his pint bottle of Bulmers hahahha. Well, if you are in town you have to drop by for a proper black shtuff. AMAZING place!!!!!!
