09/01/2026: Great place to eat! I have been to Silken Thomas several times with friends and recently my fiancée. Food is always delicious. Steaks are amazing. I ordered medium rare and it was perfectly cooked. My fiancée ordered his rare and said it’s the best steak he ever had. Fries were fluffy and crispy. Also ordered spicy chicken wings with blue cheese sauce and desserts and can warmly recommend everything. Service and the staff is always lovely and super helpful if you need recommendations. We were looked after by a dark haired older lady and she was super. On weekdays you barely have to wait for the food. Very big venue and lots of tables so great for a couple or even bigger parties.

10/11/2025: Great to see a restaurant of this standard in Kildare. With the Hangman’s closed, we’ve been short of somewhere special locally, and O’Dooles has definitely stepped up. It’s a proper night-out spot – not just a pub meal. We had a group of 15 last night and everything was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the place is spotless. The wine list is well chosen and fairly priced, drinks looked great, and the food was full of flavour across all courses. We also had a coeliac with us and the kitchen handled it perfectly – clear communication, careful preparation, and a gluten-free starter made fresh, which was very much appreciated. It’s great to have somewhere like this on our doorstep in Kildare. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back.

07/11/2025: We had a really lovely experience in O'Dooles restaurant for my brother’s birthday. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing from start to finish. Great cocktail menu and lovely bar area for a pre dinner drink. Margarita was fab. The prawn starter was delish and the chickpea fritter to start was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the main courses the Seabass for me was perfect and so flavorsome and my brother was very happy with the Veal chop. Desserts were great and the Cheeseboard - we are all still thinking about it! Great atmosphere in the restaurant. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks again to all the team at O’Dooles!

26/06/2025: Popped into JB Mahoney recently and honestly, what a find. It’s got that rare mix of proper character and a genuinely warm atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. The Guinness? Spot on, creamy, smooth, poured with care. You can tell they take pride in it, which is more than you can say for a lot of places. And if you haven’t tried the Algerian, you’re missing out – bold, rich, and absolutely delicious. A proper pint to remember. The bar staff are brilliant, friendly, funny, and somehow manage to keep everything running smoothly even when it's packed. Even, the teachers chap I was speaking to inside. JB Mahoney’s strikes that perfect balance: welcoming, down-to-earth, but with real quality behind the bar. Whether you're in for a quiet one or a few rounds with mates, this place just gets it right.

18/10/2025: We stopped here for a nice Guinness in a unique pub atmosphere. The pub was lovingly decorated, with lovely little seating areas and an atmosphere reminiscent of the good old days. The parlor door was also a highlight, and the fireplace in the far corner made the pint taste twice as good.

17/11/2025: Best take out from hons so far. Undon noodle, spicey, got the veggies, got the flavour.... winner!!, dumpling soup!! Winner!, chicken sweet corn soup class.. Satay sauce tonight was extra tasty, chicken balls crispy.. thankyou for making my day. 5 star
