The best restaurants in Maynooth

04/01/2025: Lovely cocktails, very interesting tastes, a bit on a sweeter side, but overall a nice place to spend an easy evening.

22/03/2025: Ordered fish today and was not informed about the shrimp included which I am allergic to. But was replaced without any questions. Needed to ask for menu as was not brought to table. Asked 3 times for my glass of wine. No napkins offered when resetting. Cold draught coming upstairs also. Pity as I never had bad experience before in Ely. But food was very nice.

17/03/2025: This is hands down the best coffee shop and wine bar in Maynooth (and surroundings). As an Italian, I find the quality of coffee, pastries, and food extremely high. You can tell that food is freshly prepared, and that they have a nice selection of coffee and tea. Also, this is one of the few businesses in Maynooth offering vegan drink and food alternatives (their vegan pain au chocolat is a must-try). Last, but definitely not least, staff is well-trained, polite, and a pleasure to chat with! Would highly recommend.

25/01/2025: I ordered 2 packs of wedges and 20 chicken nuggets for takeaway. I arrived home to find just 14 nuggets. When I attempted ring them they ignored me. Unhelpful, unresponsive and unscrupulous, barely restaurant. Avoid this place.

21/12/2024: Friendly staff. Free Christmas book to keep my 4 year old occupied was a really nice touch. Convenient location. Bloody cold room. Seat near window felt like there was no glass in it. Food was slow to come out. Pretty mediocre. Would go back to try other menu items but would appreciate if they upped their game. Not their best outlet.

08/02/2025: Naked Pizza is the healthier alternative that doesn’t compromise on taste or that comfort-food feeling.The pizza base was not too thick (which works for me as a gym girlie) and there was minimal grease. The tomato sauce was fresh yet well seasoned. It was a perfect pepperoni pizza. The spicy crispy chicken tenders were the juiciest yet crispiest tenders I’ve eaten. I’d eat 30 of them. The Manager, Gavin was cool, professional and kind. He showed me how to make a round pizza out of dough after I told him my failed attempt to make homemade pizza.

28/02/2025: A vegetarian pizza had chicken on it, and the other one had so much chilli shake that it was indelible. Somethings happened to this particular branch in recent times. It used to be brilliant, now every order has problems.

25/01/2025: This was my first time eating at Donatellos. I usually avoid Italian food as it is dairy- and wheat-intensive, both of which I have intolerances to. I need not have worried. Donatellos had a vegan menu and a vast range of wheat-free alternatives and went through them over the phone with me in advance. The chargrilled vegetable starter was delicious, as was the mushroom risotto for main. To top it all, the dessert was a rare find for me - a gluten-free and vegan chocolate tart which was heavenly. Service was friendly and efficient and members of staff were well versed in allergens etc. My friends had various pizzas, pasta al mare dishes etc. and all enjoyed their choices. The décor is lovely and there's a good ambience. I'm looking forward to returning.

27/03/2025: Unfortunately Romayo’s has gone down in quality and customer service. I am reviewing the Maynooth store only hoping this is not what the whole brand looks like now. Waiting times are off the charts, chips are mushy and oily. The app has been updated but the store never uses the status correctly…. We are a long term customer of many Romayo’s stores…. But this one….

16/02/2025: Lovely chips and burgers a little pricey but are worth it. They also have pictures of other Romayo's and there open date.

21/01/2025: I was there at lunch time today. I ordered a roll. I eat the same one in obriens liffey valley all the time, they even know what I order before I go up . Today in manor Mills the girl was confused when I asked for my roll anyway, it was completely stale like as if it was sat there days. When I brought it back and told the girl it was stale she replied "yeah but you didn't want it toasted" so I mentioned no I wanted a fresh roll and this was really stale like REALLY stale. She said again "yeah but you said you didn't want it toasted". So in order to not have a stale roll it had to be toasted. Not the standards of obriens I'd be used to, I always eat I'm liffey v or the jervis as I'm an autistic creature of habit so i know this is bad standards. I then ordered a blt as the woman wasn't impressed that I didn't want to eat my stale roll and she could of fixed it by toasting it. Anyway, my blt was made fresh... on stale bread I could of broke my tooth!

18/01/2025: Staff is lovely, the wait for my breakfast bagel wasn't long at all + it's delicious! I would recommend if you have to get breakfast fast!

11/03/2025: Busy place on a Sunday evening. Ordered on screen, a bit of a wait, bit acceptable. Food good as usual, staff polite.
