20/04/2026: Everthing is good,absolutely everything, the Pub atmosphere, the drinks, the pub food and especially the Restaurant food, absolutely value for money.
The Staff however are extra special, go and you'll understand, extremely friendly and extremely professional.
Overall 11 out of 10.

05/04/2026: Connor, the barman at Avenue Bar and Restaurant, is absolutely exceptional. His mixology is incredible, his service is outstanding, and it is all topped off with the kind of personality every customer hopes for. Connor is the reason we became repeat customers. If his drinks were not already the star of the show, he easily would be himself. He has made several evenings truly memorable.
Matteo also deserves a special mention. He is consistently welcoming, attentive and professional, and he adds so much to the warm atmosphere of the place. His service is excellent, and he helps make every visit feel smooth, relaxed and enjoyable. They are truly lucky to have him, and his contribution certainly does not go unnoticed.
Andrew was an absolute pleasure to be served by. He was attentive, personable and eager to make sure everything was just right, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. What really stood out was the human touch in his service — we had such a lovely chat with him, and it was genuinely refreshing to be served by someone so warm and engaging.

29/03/2026: Clean plates for everyone - a compliment to the chef! The variety on the menu was tested by our party of 17 - from teriyaki salmon to duck, pasta, cajun chicken, stirfry and pasta dishes and even lamb meant there was something for everyone. We were very well looked after by Roisin and Theo (thanks for taking our photos). We will be back :-).
23/03/2026: Went early in the day but despite being quiet service was very slow.
Given table quickly but long wait to order food and even longer wait to get drinks that were ordered.
Kitchen was fine and food gorgeous but server was switched off. Left with empty glasses and on checked in once at the end despite only two other small groups there.

20/03/2026: I arrived at the roost just after 23:30 and was told the bar was closed despite saying it was open til 2:00 on Google management and ownership clearly don’t care about false advertising which could lead to a lawsuit, I would avoid at all costs

05/05/2026: I started to like going to this place until I went with two friends and one of them was discriminated for wearing a non-sleeved top. We were just enjoying the sunlight and the owner sent a message via one of the staff members. I felt very disappointed that this mindset is a thing here in Ireland. I did not expect that!

05/07/2025: I have been so disappointed with the staff and service today. They should be ashamed of themselves for how they have treated me today. I was there at around 13pm today for lunch with my son. When we arrived I said we will seat outside because I am pregnant and I m feeling sick if i feel any smell. I have ordered from the kids menu a chicken salad, fish and chips and a pizza, and a chocolate brownie for desert, my son wanted chips and pizza and I was thinking we could share the food as I couldn't eat much and didn't even know if I could actually eat anything at all. When ordered the girl said if the food was for me or sharing, I said sharing and she said because I wasn't allowed to order from kids menu so I explained I was sick and don't know if I could eat anyways. I have been with my family so many times there and ofcourse I have never ordered from kids menu for myself . This was just because of my pregnancy. The fish was so oily and the batter had still flour in it. No taste, my son tried it and refused to eat it. I had a bite from it and everything else was still in the plate. My son had 2 slices of pizza, i have tried it also and the dough was so mushy. After this, we got our plates cleaned ..even if the plates were still full, the staff didn't ask if everything was fine with the food. We got the desert and I wanted one for myself also. I have been refused the desert as the staff said she wasn't allowed to add on my order from kids menu, i said she doesn't have to as I can take one from the normal menu, but she said thats not available on that menu, so she refused to get me the desert. I have left the restaurant and I don't think I ever felt so disgusted with the way everything was handled.
25/05/2025: I was so looking forward to this and I was very disappointed.mushroom starter were only out of a packet ...no flavour at all .....pork belly was disgusting...spuds were cold and not nice ...like smash so not good ....looks nice on paper but didn't enjoy ....burger mmmmm no taste at all more lettuces than anything...dessert was just ok .....now the staff .....dropped my knife but no one can to replace it ...girl twice came to the table and didn't take the empty water bottle and replace it till I got annoyed and asked her.....all the did was stand around talking..I even had to go to the bar to pay my bill as they were all in talking...sorry to say we didn't enjoy this and certainly wasn't worth €79 ....won't be back and no k wouldn't recommend to Friends either.
