The best restaurants in Maynooth

10/06/2026: Shoda bistro was great for lunch. The pools were excellent great facility and very clean. It was great to have a choice of and adult only 20m pool with sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room and a separate large family pool with all the facilities too. Treatment rooms and a spa, unfortunately we didn't have time to try the spa but next time we will be booking a massage. Good attention to detail. Staff were friendly and helpful and seemed to be happy in their work. We will definitely stay here again when we are visiting Dublin. We travel from Doolin in West Clare and it is very handy not to have to stay in the city center. The hotel is only 40 mins into the center so very easy.

01/06/2026: My feedback here relates to the leisure centre which either myself or one of my family has used for several years now. I want to say that the vast majority of the reception staff, particularly the girls, are always friendly and helpful. The centre itself has hugely changed if one is a member though. It seems to me to be about getting as much money in as possible and to heck with the regular members. The pool is constantly busy, particularly in morning times. You cannot move at times. Something is very often out of service, be it the sauna, the| steam room, the showers being too hot and so on. When you pass on any feedback to someone there, management dont respond, just seeming to dump it on the staff to deal with. I went for a swim last week and there were several young lads in the sauna talking about the Junior Cert they are sitting. This is the adult sauna so it's wrong on many counts to have children aged 15 around adults. The goodness has gone from the experience which is a pity. Definitely a money grab. Terrible disimprovement. Shame on the senior management for letting this happen.

17/07/2026: The cafe at Teeling is my daily ritual with our cockapoo Charley. I can't say enough about the incredible staff and outstanding coffee. I've never had a daily coffee (& dog treat routine) that now feels like a community. Whoever is doing employee recruitment finds just fantastic people! Dogs are not only welcome here but will feel lots and lots of love.

01/07/2026: They dropped half my food on the floor and offered to replace it with different food I could not eat, not a refund. I paid for a full sandwich and only got half. Also kitchen is very cross contaminated, my veggie sandwich was cut on a tray where I could see meat from other sandwiches still on it. Friend's drink had to be remade twice due to allergens. Food is fine, but would recommend steering clear if you have allergens or are vegetarian.

18/06/2026: Pancakes, porridge, eggs with homemade bread - everything was so delicious 😋

07/05/2026: Nice but the tomato soup was like water and was lukewarm. It costs €7.50

01/08/2026: I had the Chicken Burger and a vegan Lemon & pistachio muffin/bun. The chicken burger tasted sour, possibly from the blue cheese element, it was not nice, it was also spicy from the hot sauce marinade. It wasn't to my taste. The muffin was incredibly dense, I ordered this as I enjoy lemon flavoured treats, this was not a good choice.

12/07/2026: My experience with the food was great, however the person who served us was extremely rude. We opened the parasol and he asked us to close it because of the wind, which was fine. However, we explained that I couldn't talk to my friend because she was in front of me, and an employee went and removed it. Then this older man came to our table and said we couldn't remove it... we explained the situation and he rudely said we couldn't and angrily put the parasol back. It was ridiculous!

05/07/2026: Small group of people celebrating a birthday over the weekend. All the young waiters they have currently are total disgrace. Forgotten drinks (multiple times) ordered food and when asked few questions about the dishes they get stressed and upset about it. Not one single time were asked if we needed anything during dinner. At some stage one of the girls just brings the bill over to one of the guests in our group and stands beside her and made her feel totally uncomfortable. At this stage we never got a chance to even order dessert nor we were asked if we need anything else from the kitchen as it was 9:15 Asked if we can get any dessert whatsoever and were told NO That’s not a problem as our bad for not keeping an eye on time but we left over €400 bill that evening and left disappointed by the service received.

15/07/2026: Fish was soggy and greasy. Still ate it because I was starving. The chips were good. Bartenders and servers were very nice and friendly. Saw some of the other patrons food and it looked good just wouldn't get the fish. After reading some of the reviews for this place we definitely got the impression that the bouncers are racist. I don't get down with that. Will not be returning as I do not support racist establishments.
