Every meal is freshly cooked to order, and you can really taste the quality and care that goes into it. Their homemade pizza is absolutely top-notch — crispy base, generous toppings, and packed with flavor. And the battered sausages? Easily the best around. Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside — comfort food done right. What really sets Rios apart, though, is the atmosphere and the people behind the counter. This isn’t just a takeaway; it’s a place built on family values and genuine friendships. You can feel it the moment you walk in. 29/04/2025: Nice place. Plenty of parking. If you are a collector in Irish history, this is a great place. It is pricey though. They have a cafe too but also over priced. Relaxing ro walk around. Lots of plant seeds and gardening supplies. Eco friendly produce. Worth a visit.

27/04/2025: very expensive My experience was very disappointing. The products are of poor quality and extremely overpriced. The place overall is not clean, and even the restaurant lacks proper hygiene. I definitely will not be visiting again, and I do not recommend it.

26/04/2025: Eye-catching café on the main street, beautifully decorated with taste and style. With high expectations, I ordered their signature Hummingbird Cake. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. This cake is typically known for its exceptional moistness, light texture, and unique flavor—thanks to pineapple, banana, pecans, and a delicate cream. However, the slice I had bore little resemblance to that standard. It tasted more like banana bread, and the icing was just a thick slab of wet icing sugar, lacking any finesse. My 3-star rating is meant as encouragement for Hummingbird Café to revisit their recipe and bring it up to the level their beautiful café deserves. A little advice at the end... the side gate, like an alcove with tables, is just begging for the same atmosphere as the interior of the café.

19/02/2025: Blaw is the way to go. Coffee excellent. Got a telling off for ordering food and coffee off the same person. Fix that and excellent.

05/10/2024: Going to the snack shack for years and love it in there. The staff are brilliant always greeting you with a smile and a chat. It's worth stopping in and the sandwich box's you can get are just perfect and tasty. Highly recommended

13/02/2025: My wife and I honeymooned to Ireland 12 years ago. Portarlington was the first town we visited on our way across the country. The owner/owners (in 2013, hopefully same owners) are some of the kindest people I have met... To this day I will always remember the generosity, human connection and love. When they found out we were married that week and honeymooning to Ireland, they took a HUGE Guinness flag off their wall as a momento for our trip. I think of them often when I come across others who show that kind of love to me. Thanks for the memories... just thought I'd share some love back 12 years later!!! - Taylor
