Everything was fresh and hot, and the portions were generous. The staff were very friendly and attentive — they even offered us some fries for free. A lovely bonus and a great overall experience! Thank you, we’ll definitely be back 😊

15/07/2025: Haiphong Takeaway in Drogheda is where I was first introduced to the world of spice bags and munchie boxes—and I’ve been hooked ever since! The food is always fresh, tasty, and full of flavour. Portion sizes are generous, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I order from here often and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!

01/06/2025: Have been using this business since 2006, considering I live close by and walk to order food and always early evening. All businesses can go through bad times. But over the years, I have seen many new faces and many new variations on food dishes. I get to know the staff, and they know what I like, and if not happy, I go back immediately, and they staff fix it. However, I've never had a delivery service or ordered late in the evening. So, the Google reviews will be mixed for sure. Also, to note the asian takeouts in drogheda seem to change hands every 4 to 5 years for whatever reason. I still use this business.

25/05/2025: Order online and was given the wrong order so I called back and was told that I had been given the correct order and nothing else was done about it, will be reporting to the HSA as what was served could have cause a severe allergic reaction

23/08/2025: Been getting a take away from here for quite awhile now and I have to say this is the best Chinese in Drogheda! Their salt and Chillie chicken is amazing and some the old fashioned way, not just with that really salty salt shake put over it, special mention to Jodie who always answers the phone and her customer care is outstanding. Finally bit the bullet and went in for a meal last week, is t is the fanciest restaurant in town? No! Is the food amazing? Yes! And that’s all that matters when it comes to shelling out money for food. Give them a try! Also their curry sauce is amazing! Most Chineses these days has that lighter curry sauce that to me just isn’t a curry sauce. There’s is the old school darker coloured proper curry sauce! If you’re from Dublin you’ll know what I mean! 5 stars all round!!

18/08/2025: Since trying this restaurant several times, I can honestly say it has been one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The kitchen is extremely greasy and unhygienic, and the staff at the cashier often handle money and food at the same time. The food I bought was dirty and unpleasant to eat — many dishes taste overly sweet and artificial. After eating here, I had stomach problems, including diarrhea. They frequently insist on cash payments and never provide receipts. Even when you pay, the food is more expensive than neighboring restaurants, yet the quality is far worse. Their marketing relies only on carefully edited photos, which are very misleading. On several occasions, I personally saw shocking behavior: for example, chicken pieces that had fallen on the floor were picked up and served to the next customer. This shows a complete lack of basic food hygiene standards. An even more ridiculous experience happened when my neighbor’s child accidentally placed an order on Just Eat but forgot to cancel. When they called the restaurant, the person answering, who claimed to be the Asian owner named Caroline, refused to give a refund. She insisted it was the customer’s fault and even called Just Eat to block the refund. This is unacceptable business practice. The food here is overpriced, unsafe, and handled without the slightest care for customer health. I deeply regret ever ordering from this place. For your own safety, do not eat here.

13/07/2025: Physically sick after eating from here tonight. Food not cooked. Raw chicken. Reporting this place to FSA. Very dirty eat out off there 2 times and both times felt sick won't be back again!

29/08/2025: Standards have dropped dramatically. Was a regular visitor to this hotel and would visit 2-3 times a year and brought family and friend regularly. My last two stays I have to say were terrible. We went as 2 adults and 2 children. First time people smoking in the rooms with the doors open I reported it and nothing happened the same the next night and was told its probably coming in from the balcony. People shouting and banging all hours of the morning and again nothing done. The quality of breakfast is probably a 3 at best where it was always 9-10 and then I was charged an extra €2 for a cappuccino at breakfast (never seen that before ANYWHERE). spoke to the waitress and was told there's a new chef and it's just been brought in.Got in touch with the hotel afterwards to complain and got 3 different people to email. Eventually the manager got in touch much with me and apologised and offered me a deal to return and to just contact him that he wants to prove it was a once off.. When I did eventually contact him for a return for 2 adults 2 children and returned it started on check in. First room we were giving was one double bed 1 single bed ,I went back to reception and giving another room and again it was 1 double one single. I went again to reception to ask was this a joke. The girl gave me keys to another room and told me to check the room first to see if it was okay. The room was downstairs and didn't feel like part of the hotel. There was plenty of beds but the double bed mattress was wafer thin and very uncomfortable. I rang reception and the other lady came and brought me to another room 512 and asked was it okay. It looked good and had the double and 2 single beds as required. The lady apologised and was very helpful. When my son sat on his bed he nearly fell off it as the base was broken, again I called reception and the lady came back and seen the bed and again apologised and went and got a base off another bed. We just accepted it as we Had Been through 4 rooms already at this stage. First morning breakfast was okay and fresh but the next morning we were waiting on bits to come out from the kitchen then got burnt breakfast and was served our milk in a teacup with not even an apology. I reported all this to the manager by email when we got home and his response was. ,thank you for your feedback.. So if that's the general managers response it says it all. Cannot see myself returning here anytime soon and can not recommend this hotel to family or friends.... Just seen this hotel is now up for sale so that explains why the management couldn't care less....

15/07/2025: The D Hotel is closed to tourists until 2027. It is being used as a Refugee Reception Centre until then.
