The best restaurants in Drogheda

05/07/2025: The place has a lot of potential beside the river with a nice beer garden but is let down by the food. Bad • cocktails are really bad, whiskey sour tasted like whiskey and soda water, passionfruit martini tasted like a strong mi wadi. • steak we asked for it rare and it came out well done and chewie • speakers not working in beer garden making the place lack atmosphere. Good • good service and they gave 2 free drinks after we said the streak was not good. • combo platter was above average. • we both went to birra moretti after the bad cocktails and they where really nice.

25/09/2025: Nice wee spot, nice decor interior and back area on the river facing south getting that direct sun is very nice 👌🏻

31/05/2025: was here the other day got chips and chicken burger and fries well if that is what u wanna call them i would say that they where in the fryer from the day before they were soaked in grease and crisped and my friend got chicken and chips and garlic spicy sauce and was horrible again chips in it was same waste of money... the picture shows some of what the chips where like.

10/12/2025: I went with some friends and we had a good time. There was live music and I think it's a great place to unwind.

30/11/2025: Food was great for my daughter, brought food and drinks over very promptly. Was very scarce inside but, was a Sunday night.

30/12/2025: Drive thrugh not busy but still had to wait in a bay for 5 minutes for a cheesburger.

28/12/2025: Drogheda McDonalds is unfortunately not amazing. Orders tend to me incorrect often and you're left waiting in an uncomfortable spot for the drive through if your order isn't ready.

07/11/2025: Reliable and always have good food! I ordered to collect and it was ready on time! I use the online portal which is quick and easy. The food never fails to deliver. I moved to Monaghan and went back to Woks for a takeaway when I was back down in Drogheda!!!

22/10/2025: Yuck....my curry was full of oil.... Disgusting food, went straight to the bin.

05/01/2026: I'll tell you lads, amazing scran. 4 in 1 was succulent and the bubble tea was very refreshing. Quite a long wait time. Lovely

30/12/2025: Ridiculously long delivery and extremely poor customer service . Food arrived after 2 hours items were cold and the food tasted like it was a few days old .

06/12/2025: Ordered the food at half 6 app said order would arrive at 7:30pm, food never came. We had to ring them at 8pm they told us the food would be there in 30 minutes with no apology on the phone for the delay. Food arrived past 9pm, 2 and half hours wait, we sent the food back and had to contact the app for a refund I would avoid this place terrible service

19/11/2025: the chicken in the spice bag is hard and impossible to chew, the sweet and sour sauce is too sweet

28/12/2025: I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for a long time, visiting almost every week, and I have always considered it a recommendable place. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit, I was deeply disappointed to observe practices that I consider unacceptable from a hygiene and sanitation standpoint in the kitchen area, specifically in the dishwashing area. The conditions I witnessed do not reflect the minimum standards of cleanliness and sanitation expected of an establishment of this type, nor those required by current public health regulations. To be more specific, I saw a new person working in that area, whom I have already seen outside using drugs. As a regular customer, this situation is of great concern to me and forces me, with great regret, to stop frequenting the restaurant until clear and verifiable corrective measures are taken. I hope this observation will be taken as an opportunity for immediate improvement and correction.

10/12/2025: Staff was friendly we Ordered butter chicken lamb madras from here but it does not even resemble curry at all. I have no idea how this can happen haha. Its like meat in vegetable soup its baby food consistency. No spice or flavour at all I'm so shocked. So disappointed I could of made this myself at home in two seconds

29/08/2025: Standards have dropped dramatically. Was a regular visitor to this hotel and would visit 2-3 times a year and brought family and friend regularly. My last two stays I have to say were terrible. We went as 2 adults and 2 children. First time people smoking in the rooms with the doors open I reported it and nothing happened the same the next night and was told its probably coming in from the balcony. People shouting and banging all hours of the morning and again nothing done. The quality of breakfast is probably a 3 at best where it was always 9-10 and then I was charged an extra €2 for a cappuccino at breakfast (never seen that before ANYWHERE). spoke to the waitress and was told there's a new chef and it's just been brought in.Got in touch with the hotel afterwards to complain and got 3 different people to email. Eventually the manager got in touch much with me and apologised and offered me a deal to return and to just contact him that he wants to prove it was a once off.. When I did eventually contact him for a return for 2 adults 2 children and returned it started on check in. First room we were giving was one double bed 1 single bed ,I went back to reception and giving another room and again it was 1 double one single. I went again to reception to ask was this a joke. The girl gave me keys to another room and told me to check the room first to see if it was okay. The room was downstairs and didn't feel like part of the hotel. There was plenty of beds but the double bed mattress was wafer thin and very uncomfortable. I rang reception and the other lady came and brought me to another room 512 and asked was it okay. It looked good and had the double and 2 single beds as required. The lady apologised and was very helpful. When my son sat on his bed he nearly fell off it as the base was broken, again I called reception and the lady came back and seen the bed and again apologised and went and got a base off another bed. We just accepted it as we Had Been through 4 rooms already at this stage. First morning breakfast was okay and fresh but the next morning we were waiting on bits to come out from the kitchen then got burnt breakfast and was served our milk in a teacup with not even an apology. I reported all this to the manager by email when we got home and his response was. ,thank you for your feedback.. So if that's the general managers response it says it all. Cannot see myself returning here anytime soon and can not recommend this hotel to family or friends.... Just seen this hotel is now up for sale so that explains why the management couldn't care less....

15/07/2025: The D Hotel is closed to tourists until 2027. It is being used as a Refugee Reception Centre until then.

07/12/2025: I drove from Balbriggan to get the food from that place and I’m really very disappointed. I asked 4 Tikka kebab with 3 extra naan bread and I asked everything separate. So instead of Tilka kebab she charged me for Tikka tray and she charged me separate for 7 naan when she should changed only for 3 extra naan. I ordered 1 chips. So instead of €55 she changed €65. Pictures are attached the mount of chicken they put in the try. Looking at the chips for €3.70 it’s just unreal and ripoff. This place is scamming people in day light.

19/11/2025: I just ate a chicken kebab, they have given it cold, spicy and with little meat, things that I have not ordered. I DON'T RECOMMEND IT

19/01/2026: Had the most gorgeous Sliced Breast of Chicken Curry with Fried Rice & Onion Rings to takeaway last night, it's always great, but last night's was really exceptional... keep up the great work/high standards!

10/01/2026: We as a large group had some tables booked for 23. They didnt join the tables and some people in our group we had our backs too. Food was lively. Big portions. Mains do not include rice or chips these are both separate things at a extra cost. Which makes it quite expensive as for example. My salt and chilli chicken without rice or chips was 18.50!!! Just for the chicken without any sides. They have no kids menu. The kids can have burger and chip. Sausage and chips or chicken ball and chip for €12 i think it was. But my children and others thenhad to order off the main menu as they didnt like these options. So for my meal, which included satay chicken for starters. Salt and chilli chicken. Then my husbands crispy prawn and duck and mushroom for his main. He got a side of chipa i got a side of rice and we halved rhem amongst us. My eldest son only has satay chicken no sides or anything. My other kids both got fried rice. Salt and chilli chips and salt and chilli chicken. There was 4 minerals ordered and 4 glasses of wine. The dessert was 2 brownies ordered and one kids ice cream. Total came to €225. Which i thought was expensive for 2 ad and 3 kids!!!

19/10/2025: Well, I ordered it last night, the wait was a bit long but I would say it was worth it. The food was very big portions, so big I couldn't eat it all myself! Very nice stuff.
