29/03/2024: We got a take out, lovely chicken chow mein, beautiful spring rolls, great window service when you order over the phone. Everything super 👌 we got all for a family of 6 for around 50e.
27/11/2023: Completely agree as others have said that this place is living on reputation. The dry hot and spicy from the one I remember 10+ years ago is a shadow to what you get now. It usually tastes bland, soggy, chewy meat and often is falling apart but have noticed its a bit better when they first open at 5pm or mid week indicating to me they cook in batch’s during busy times and keep it heated for too long. Wings in dromore west which I have heard is ran by an old employee of the lantern is the most similar to the old recipe (but a bit sweeter) but still nothing compared to the one I remember.
Update: The dry hot and spicy has been a lot better lately and I really hope it stays 🙏 reminds me of how it used to be. Really would like for the restaurant to open again.

04/02/2024: I ordered my favourite Indian dish lamb madras medium, nothing beats the way bisini makes thier food. They are true professional Indian chefs, ill be making it a once a week treat for myself now in future. And the staff are soo friendly and kind. Definitely recommend 👌

01/09/2023: According to the 'McCartney Bar' Irish guide book you should never go into an Irish bar/pub calling itself a 'traditional' Irish bar. And Howard's (just called Howard's on the outside) proves that point.
Upon entering this bar Eugene and all the people in the bar made us feel like we're were already one of the regular locals. Fantastic genuine Irish welcome.
Went back a few times because of the atmosphere and they are dog friendly to well behaved dogs only. So score a Brucy Bonus point for being dog friendly.

15/03/2024: We travelled all the way from France and katmandu to Ballina in Ireland. We ended up in Brennan’s lane and what can I say other than we had the best time of our lives. The owner Padraic was such a host. He made us feel so welcome❤️ the staff was unbelievable. I have never experience such welcome in any countries I’ve ever been to. I’m so in love with Padraic, I’m going to get the same haircut😂😂
