The best restaurants in Ballina

05/04/2026: They really looked after me. The reception called week before we checked in to say I can change my package to something cheaper and more perks (midweek deal). We got the spacious family room, one dinner, breakfast every morning. We enjoyed the pool at the leisure center, evening movie with popcorn and the kids gets to go for the soft play area. We definitely enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

31/03/2026: Fantastic hotel with exceptional staff, all the staff from reception, bar, restaurant and house keeping go out of their way to help you. Food is excellent and the menu is varied. Great leisure centre, safe for children. The entire hotel is very child friendly, they even have a soft play barn on site. We are back again this weekend, it's our go to hotel when staying in Mayo.

10/01/2026: Oct 2025 We stayed at this hotel while holding a memorial for my beloved sister, and I truly cannot put into words how much comfort and kindness we received during such a painful time. The hotel’s central location was perfect, and the rooms were always warm, cozy, and immaculately clean—exactly what we needed. Breakfast each morning was excellent, with many delicious options offered daily, and the dining staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating to my food allergies, which meant so much to me. We have stayed here many times over the years and always loved it, but this visit was exceptional. The compassion shown to us will never be forgotten. The hotel manager, Edel, was professional, kind, and genuinely compassionate, going above and beyond to support us on short notice. Her leadership truly shows in her amazing staff—Chloe was wonderful,, kind and professional maureen the server had outstanding service accommodating all of us especially with food allergies This hotel will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made a very difficult time a little easier.

02/03/2026: Great staff. Had gorgeous room with bath under a skylight. Perfect place to stay when attending any event at the Arts Centre just down the street.

09/02/2026: I rang today to book accommodation for two work colleagues. Rather than speaking directly with the hotel, I was routed to a call centre where the agent struggled to pronounce the town and county names. When I explained that the price (€225 per person per room for B&B) was higher than I was looking to pay and tried to politely say goodbye, the response became quite pushy, with repeated sales tactics and even a claim that no other rooms were available in Ballina within a 15-mile radius. This was clearly inaccurate — there were plenty of rooms available, and I booked my colleagues into the Twin Trees Hotel for €99 per person per room for B&B, where a friendly local staff member handled everything quickly and professionally. If this is the experience offered to potential customers, it’s disappointing. High-pressure “last room available” tactics are ineffective and off-putting. We were not stuck for accommodation, and even if those truly had been the final rooms in Ballina, we would have chosen to stay in another town. This experience fell well below expectations.

02/02/2026: Yummy food, great view and staff are friendly

07/11/2025: Went in to order a takeaway, was never in here before.. I was greeted with “what did you order” not a hi hello or anything. Then when the girl with me ordered, he looked at me “will you order together quick” . I had to tell him cancel the order as it was rude! And I’ll never step foot in there again after being spoken to like. Came across so rude as if he didn’t want custom. If it was close to closing time, then change closing time if he doesn’t want to wait there till 11.

31/10/2025: Staff are always courteous and deliver food with no haste.The place is always clean,toilets could be better as they look a bit rundown as well as upstairs area. Only issue is that it can be a bit rough at nighttime especially pearse street in general ,alot of loud youths hanging about and seems to be an issue at the moment.

25/09/2025: Asked for extra salt and ketchup and got nothing

12/02/2026: Servers forgot we were there, I had to go añd ask them to take our order, the food was nearly cold also served on cold plates, the server plonked two dirty, sticky plastic bottles on the table, we were supposed to have maple syrup but were served maple syrup flavoured golden syrup, the bottles hadn't been wiped so goodness knows who had manhandled them before...YUK! The place was actually cold and it was January. All in all it was a BIG NO from us. Coffee was okay

04/12/2025: Update 4 years ago i left review "best Chinese in town" well that change drastically. Food is terrible now i dont know what happen dry hot and spicy is not even close what it use to be. I was their comming back customer every weekend, but im not anymore

13/10/2025: Waiter was extremely rude as I was trying to pursue my career as a facebook influencer. My cookie was served to me as in the picture. When I asked she said it was labelled as a "Crumbl Cookie". Disgrace!!!! (especially when it was €6). Very unsatisfied, will not be returning

28/01/2026: Decent food. Staff do not pay attention to orders placed online. Expect a hefty wait if you order online and turn up expecting it ready.
