16/02/2025: I regularly visit Ballina but my fault I haven't been aware of the Bar Square previously. I know now what I was missing, pleasant staff the minute you enter door, lovely menu , and up my alley , decent portions. Both myself and my better half left there happy and most importantly in today's culinary climate, full. On a bitter March day lovely and cosy too. Each dish was tasty and well presented. I'll certainly have it earmarked for future visits to Ballina.

Twin Trees Hotel & Leisure Club

05/03/2025: A great hotel undergoing a remodel. The beds are superbly comfortable, as are the pillows. Guest has access to a leisure club facility.
Cons: We could not get our shower to turn warm. Luckily, there was a bath option.
To use the pool, guests are required to buy a swim cap for €4 each, and children are not permitted after 7 p.m.
Overall, I would book again.
23/02/2025: They are going through renovations, so give them the benefit.
Saying that, they have the friendliest staff going.
Loads of space in the rooms.
Great value.
Bar food was fantastic.
Pool was basic, but spot on for my family.
Decent distance from town.
We look forward to returning when the works are complete.

25/02/2025: I just do not get this place.
We ordered fish and chips and sausage and chips. We waited an eternity, as they were busy.
They put both orders in brown bags. When we came to eat them, the chips were mush. You could not eat them. If you tried to use a fork, they broke in half. They had not been fried in hot enough fat nor blanched to make them crispy. Putting them in bags makes them steam.
The fish was total mush. The batter had disintegrated into the chips, and it just made the chips even more sodden. It was the worst piece of fish we have ever eaten.
The bit I don't get, why is it busy? We will never come back.

21/03/2025: Not sure about the rest of those reviews but myself and my partner(both serious coffee addicts!) just had 2 of the best coffees of our lives from here. The sausage rolls (one vegetarian and one regular) were savage too! Definitely worth a visit!
12/03/2025: Just drove to ballina on a lunch break from work, for a Jimmy's and it wasn't open no mention of it on any of their socials or anywhere no reason

27/10/2024: Useless doesn’t come close. I ordered 3 meals, I was given the bag of food with two drinks. I informed them that I paid and ordered 3 full meals, therefore there should be three drinks. They gave me the third drink.
When I got home, I realised there were only two bags of chips in the bag, instead of three.
The place wasn’t even busy, so I don’t know how they could have got it so wrong!!!!
Absolute joke of a place!!!

04/10/2024: I would not recommend this place. I never had korma that was white before, I guess they run out of turmeric? When asked to get orange juce I got served Fanta. Seriously?

Supermac's Fresh Express

03/03/2025: Staff were nice. Burger was a little overcooked and so were the fries. Most of the tables were covered in rubbish from previous customers with no sign of anyone coming to take it away or clean the surfaces. I wasn’t that comfortable while eating my food while surrounded by all of that.
04/02/2025: This is a shared premises with Londis. I actually got lunch in the supermarket instead. The meal was excellent and service was great.

19/12/2024: First of all , don't waste your money here
The Ukrainian woman's are rude , and they won't understand English well.
Instead a cod meal i got cod separate and still get charged for meal X without fries, no drinks included even if I pay for meal .
Charge me again 3.90 for drinks after I already pay for meal.
Won't recommend.
