The best restaurants in Monaghan

14/09/2025: I attended a wedding where blasta street kitchen catered, wow the food was amazing, staff were so friendly, the owner Seány was so friendly and it was so nice to hear there story and there passion for there business. It was a fully vegetarian menu and as a non veggie I couldn’t get over how amazing the food was, so tasty and full of flavour, I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough 10 out of 10

14/09/2025: We hired Seany to do the catering for our wedding, after a previous caterer had let us down. On short notice, he agreed to cater for us, and had absolutely no issues with our different dietary requirements. He did us a full vegetarian menu, and managed to find a fantastic organic mince substitute that was divine. We also had two coeliacs, and a few picky eaters, but everyone was catered for incredibly. My father is not a fan of halloumi, but I can confirm Seany's food is so good, he actually asked for three portions of the halloumi tacos! All guests said the food was some of the best wedding food they'd had. We would highly recommend Blasta Street Kitchen.

31/08/2025: Love this coffee shop the staff are so lovely I took my wee girl in after school the other day she even bought a few toys for herself. Hot chocolate latte and buns all gorgeous at a reasonable price. Girls couldn’t have done enough for us 😀 You can also pick up lovely cards and gifts in store they have gorgeous candles & creams. They stock a lovely face cream from Dublin herbalists which I bought and it’s really lovely 🥰 Beautiful place our new favorite ❤️ Thanks again girls I don’t review very often but We left so happy Friday it’s a credit to your team

28/08/2025: Came in to Adamsons the day after our wedding with a large group. Fantastic service all day, we were able to order pizzas, wings and chips whenever we needed throughout the day and settle all at the end. Everything was so delicious and speedy out of the kitchen. We had a some vegans in our party who had good options too. Great atmosphere in the bar by the end of the Sunday night too. Ross and all the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout

26/01/2026: Went for a Carvery lunch yesterday 25/1/26. It was awful, and the guy serving the veg was so uncaring. almost throwing the food on the plate. We asked for the Starters and was told we only do the lunch, if you want a starter you have to eat in the bar....great, most unhelpful, so we didn't have a starter. A different waitress came and cleared the plates and we again asked if we could get desserts and no problem brought us a menu and was very helpful. Will not be going again for Carvery.

15/01/2026: Just spent four nights at the Shirley Arms Hotel (Mon-Fri). From first contact (email query), the team have been fantastic 👏 The hotel is lovelly, and all of the team are super welcoming, friendly and helpful, but a special shout out to Aoibheann in the bar restaurant, who was super fantastic 👍 Food was lovelly, and by far my favorite was the Sizzler steak dish with creamy garlic potato gratin (see picture) 🫡 I should say, that I had already ate some, and cut the potatoes up, so the picture probably doesn't do the food full justice 🤔 Some people have commented (negatively) on the cost of the food, and yep - they are not the cheapest, but - and here's the thing, you get what you pay for, . . . For me, I received value for money, and wouldn't think twice about staying here again in the future 😎 Lots of onsite parking, great rooms and attentive housekeeping for the rooms, and if you have forgotten anything a 'Super Valu' supermarket next door, . . . . . . . Seriously, what's not to like 🙂

27/10/2025: My Favourite Coffee shop by a mile. Erin and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Delicious brunch options and energy balls are very addictive! A must visit you won't be disappointed ☺️

31/01/2026: This is worth a visit. We only got a coffee but it's the atmosphere is brilliant and Glaslough is a really pretty village. The gardens were closed, will be back for a walk through.

28/01/2026: Myself and my friend had a lovely Cake and Tea here yesterday afternoon. The girls serving us was so friendly and the Carrot Cake and Blueberry Sponge were both very tasty. It was good value for what we had and the place has a wonderful quirky atmosphere. We would recommend this lovely Cafe and Ice Cream Parlour. Glaslough is a beautiful village and well worth visiting. So enjoy the food in Pocono while you're there.

08/12/2025: Friendly bar with great Guinness. Terry himself served us and gave us a warm welcome will definitely be back.

06/02/2026: Grand pub & restaurant, especially the nice man behind the counter on Sunday 1st Feb. The food was delicious especially the crispy chicken 😋😋😋😋

14/01/2026: This bed-and-breakfast in the centre of Clones was truly special. From the moment I arrived, I felt a warm, family-like atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The food was wonderful. Ann and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the room was warm, cozy, and comforting. It meant more to me than just a place to stay — I’m very grateful and would highly recommend it.

29/11/2025: Bar man said we were "too rowdy" and "causing hassle for others". Disappointed by the service considering the photo attached is how we were for the night. Bar man took a photo of us all and didn't say anything concerning and then decided we were all too mouldy and causing hassle for others despite us being the only people present. No wonder small bars are losing business when this is what people are met with.

26/10/2025: We went in for a drink and a game of pool. Nice place with friendly service and visitors.
