28/06/2026: Grand spot. Had my birthday dinner there. Fantastic location. Some view. Good service. Lovely food. Plenty off. Kids meals very expensive(irish thing). Overall highly recommend. Mains about 25eur to 30eur.Kids meals at 10.95euro totally irish ripoff for sure. Great view at the window !!

17/05/2026: Dreadful staff. Met at the door by the rudest man. No greeting what so ever, just a blunt have you got a booking. We didn't so we were sent to the corner of the restaurant with no window! I did ask a girl could we get a window seat and we were told if you don't book you can't sit beside a window. Bizzare set up considering the restaurant had more staff there than customers. 2 guys in the bar, disgraceful, I've never come across such ignorance. And the language they were using,( to each other) we were sat right at the bar so could hear everything. Food itself was lovely. Lovely menu plenty of selection, but the staff and the service leave nothing to desire a return visit. Management definitely need to look into the people they have fronting such a stunning venue. Host man- rude/miserable Serving staff- polite but young, no attention to detail Bar staff- dreadful *TIP* give your customers a nice experience and they might just come back! Instead of making them feel like a total inconvenience.

18/07/2026: Super homemade beetroot burger. So delicious. Made from scratch. Very wholesome. Will be back for that alone. We came at the tail end of lunch so not everything was available. Still I was impressed with the commitment to vegetarian options in particular. Lovely 😻

18/07/2026: Information: Really lovely Cafe that was very busy which is a good sign . Lots of breakfast options. What i had: I had avocado smash with pickled onion. More pickled onion would have been great. Very tasty. Options for lunch are sandwich based. Price: Pricewise its pretty good. 12.95 for avocado smash and tea. Rating: 4/5

08/07/2026: My wife and I hosted a pre-wedding event here this past Friday and it was unbelievable! Diane was fantastic and so helpful in the preparation up to the event, the event space was gorgeous, it was a covered outdoor space that had a private entrance, and Diane set us up with our own bartender. The venue was a nice size, yet felt intimate! We had maybe 60 people attend the event and it was so wonderful for both of our sides of the family to meet ahead of the wedding on Sunday! I highly recommend the Coachhouse for anybody looking to host an event, but I especially recommend it for a pre-wedding event or an afters for anyone having their wedding at the castle!

04/08/2026: A cosy, colourful little café in a cute village, perfect for a stop on a long drive. The sandwiches are delicious, on plump toasty bread and really nicely presented. Lovely choice of desserts, but there's also a very tempting icecream counter which attracts a lot of happiness off the streets. Lots of tourist souvenirs for sale as well as some usual newsagent supplies. There staff are friendly and fast with orders, the place is a gem.

26/07/2026: Go 10 minutes down the road to Cafe Rose instead. We ordered sandwiches and waited 20 minutes until we asked how long it would be. They said 10 more minutes. There were two staff that we could see, it was a week day and not busy. We got our money back and left.

13/05/2026: Being from the UK and fishing in Monaghan we fancied a nice Curry and was lucky to chance upon the Blaney Bistro. What a fantastic Curry House I can highly recommend it everything from the Popadums to the main dishes were first class. Give this place a go you won’t be disappointed

02/05/2026: I'm an American, from Louisiana. I'm in Ireland with a friend who was born here and lived in Edenborough. His Mum still lives in Castleblayney. She walked him and me into the pub and said to the bar keep, "Oi! Take care of me boy, ere" He immediately said, "Aye, May!" A slide a couple mugs of Smithwick's straight down the bar right in front of each of us. Parked them like a pro.

30/10/2025: I was attracted by the Irish 🇮🇪 and Palestine 🇵🇸 flag floating together! And mashallah, the place is cozy and the service excellent! Great food and great caffé at a fair price!

07/10/2025: Absolutely love this place since it became Avenue Coffee (was a Rock salt). They somehow made it even better. Lovely staff, lovely coffee! The outside got a great revamp too... Looks even better now!!

11/07/2026: The pasta is good, small portion but worth what you pay for! The service was average, not very warm, we were in a corner and felt forgot about. They got the drink order confused and then wrongly charge for it. Served a flat cola which was most likely not Coke, without saying it wasn't.

05/06/2026: Nice food when you can get it. Unfortunately for some reason despite calling for the last 45 minutes I have not been able to get through to order anything over the phone despite the website clearly saying it is open. Not really good enough.
