22/10/2024: After reading good reviews, we decided to try Andys. Extremely disappointed, I had the fish and chips, there was some yellow paste between the fish and the batter, fish was off white and gooey. Chips we under cooked. Nice person and was offering samples of home made vodka, however never asked us how our food was. I think 2 full plates going back was obvious.

18/11/2024: Dropped in for lunch with a few friends in late October. It was about 12.45 pm. I chose the roast beef but it appeared reheated before trying it confirmed it was yesterday’s. No flavour apart from melted fat and as dry as chipboard. I sent a polite email that evening but got no reply. Service was good but watch out if you’re in a bit early.

15/10/2024: The food is good and the service is good - cannot complain at the prices either. You get what you pay for. Make sure you have cash when arriving at the establishment, from memory they do not take card payments

21/09/2024: This was our 2nd time here. Food was fine, nothing spectacular...garlic bread fair enough, pizzas OK, although one was overpowered with garlic. The service was very slow.....our reservation was for 7:15, it was after 8:00 before our starter arrived. The area we were seated in was very loud and seriously impacted negatively on our evening. Ambledown Cottage has the possibility to put large parties in separate chalets or rooms...we had the misfortune to be beside a group of 8 very loud women...who got louder as the evening progressed. Our waitress even apologised for the noise levels as we were leaving. Overall, a disappointing evening. When spending €60 on dinner (without alcohol), the very least I would expect is a relaxing ambience. Not this evening....
