The best restaurants in Monaghan

31/07/2025: I have been at Nino’s many times, his team is very welcomed and helpful. Most of the times are very busy but I’m patient on that because a good quality needs the perfect time to get prepared. The extra point that I’m giving to them is the changes that the owner has done inside with the decoration and the tables you have plenty space and get comfortable to sit and wait for your order. Plus his team are very communicative so you don’t get bored at all!!!! About the food is the best in town not surprised that after all this years have so many loyal customers well done Nino’s 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 For those who doesn’t have a clue about what I’m talking, give it a try. Trust me you gonna love it 😎

22/07/2025: One of the best chippys about. Have been going here for years and have never had a bad takeaway yet. Chips, burgers, fish, kebabs, pizzas, everything is top class!

31/10/2025: Not the first time that half of my order was missing when I left. In fact almost 90% of my times going here, there is always something missing that I then have to go back in for. I was also told by the African looking manager that I should have checked my order before leaving. That is not my job to do so, and on top of that there must have been about 6 or 7 staff members looking at the same screen. How they forget anything is beyond me, as they have so many people looking at and packing the same order. Staff need more training, some people need Demoting as their manners are a disgrace and they are supposed to be the front face of the company

23/08/2025: Good place to dine in alone or with family. As in every place atmosphere spoiler is people how leaves a mess on or under the table after themselves.

17/08/2025: Very spacious, quite lively, ideal for groups. Waiters a bit uncaring, though. One feels the traditional Irish hospitality is slowly becoming a thing of the past.

02/11/2025: Stayed two nights with my 4 children. Dreadful reception on arrival was asked what my plans were id none,but had no interest to suggest anything to me.Service in the empty bar was dreadful had to ask for ketchup for my 4 kiddies....Another 3 napkins .. Black pepper for my pasta. 2 glasses in the bathroom ,for the family room ( 5 persons) two rooms... The vending machine in the gym/ pool area stole our money then on the 4th attempt gave his a totally different drink than what we selected.Breakfast was dreadful no communication from servers at all.4/5 Croissants when we would arrive at breakfast no there pastries...Very very minimal. No life gaurd at the pool or to watch who gets into the jacuzzi..Disgusted.Never ever again.

11/10/2025: Food was lovely, the staff were friendly and efficient at their jobs. Our room however was slightly tired in decor but was very clean.

05/09/2025: Lovely place with beautiful view to Monaghan Lake. I loved the wrap with puled pork and cheese cake size- unbelievable!! Bit down side with my daughters sandwich -way to plain and to dry. Other then that, its lovely place to eat.

04/07/2025: We went for lunch a few days ago, bought food to the value of €35, I asked for an extra cup to have a cup of tea from the pot my daughter wasn't finishing,only to be informed rudely by the owner that if I got an empty cup she would charge for another tea, we were very surprised that this was a policy and also very annoyed as I am a regular customer as is my family. Needless to say we won't be rushing back.

10/10/2025: Had a superb meal here. Poppadoms were super fresh. I had vegetable jalfrezi (vindaloo spicy) and it was excellent, full of fresh vegetables and at the correct spice level (so many places cook it medium regardless of your request). The other main was Tandoori chicken and it too was excellent. The naan was perfect, pilau rice could be improved but the rest of the food more than made up for it. It's the best indian restaurant in Monaghan in my opinion.You can bring your own alcohol too!

02/09/2025: First time eating out of this restaurant and it will be my last time. I got take away food from here and the sauce was thin(water) the spices were not cooked out properly that give me the hiccups all night. I'm gret lover of Indian food, but this is not anywhere close to Indian food.

11/06/2025: It’s a great station . Fuel coffee drinks everything you need . It’s has a small eating area, Toilets The rolls and baps were very good . It has washing car service

18/10/2025: Caters for all dietary needs. Staff very welcoming. Very clean. Down stairs odds and ends from €5 to €800 electrical goods. Pop in and look around.

27/09/2025: Went for a paint-got it. Asked for an advice-got it. Staff very helpful. Swift collections and returns.

29/10/2025: A very nice little café with a super delicious menu, also suitable for children. Very child-friendly.

16/10/2025: This is a amazing place to go! Every time I go here I always leave happy. This is a great place to go for a nice brunch. All I say is don’t take a big group of people because they wouldn’t have room to fit everyone but other then that 10/10 place!! I definitely recommend to everyone! 😁
