08/12/2024: Had a good time here. Staff was great, very helpful and friendly. Food was good. Went for a birthday and felt a bit blindsided by the €32 cakeage fee. Told it would be 8 which is understandable but is a bit nuts to be per-person which wasn't mentioned. Been here before and will probably be back, just not with a cake...

06/12/2024: I enjoyed a slice of raspberry pistachio tart for €3.50 and an Americano for €2.80 at Gourmet Tart Co. in Salthill. The taste of the cake was really convincing - fresh, balanced sweetness, and with a pleasant pistachio note. The coffee was also aromatic and offered a solid complement to the cake. On a positive note, there is plenty of seating and the toilets were clean and in good condition. Unfortunately, the experience is marred by a few aspects. The cleanliness of the tables leaves something to be desired as they are usually dirty. The disposable cutlery and cardboard plates used look cheap and take away a lot of the ambience of the café. The lack of WiFi is also a clear negative point these days. All in all, the price-performance ratio is okay, but the lack of attention to detail and the low appreciation from guests in terms of facilities and cleanliness mean that I only give it 3 out of 5 stars. Gourmet Tart Co. could do much more with its potential with small improvements.
