Misunderstood Heron
08/07/2025: The restaurant is now within the bar, so was slightly confusing but wow - this food was absolutely unreal! So delicious, especially after a lovely session in the Big Dipper.
08/06/2025: This location is no longer correct on Google Maps; it's no longer there. We even checked the website, because Google Maps lists two locations, but they're no longer there. It's a shame that the location isn't even correct on the website; we were disappointed.
Update: Location still found, but please correct the location.

21/05/2025: Great hotel in Clifden! This should def be categorized as a 4 star. Great accommodations, good restaurant and bar, great location and the service was definitely 5 star! The staff were so accommodating and kind and helped us store our bikes and navigate details on our cycle trip. Special shoutout to Fiona and Shauna and the numerous porters who were fantastic and kind. Would always recommend!
20/05/2025: In the heart of Clifden, nice place to keep fit, “oldly worldly” station house bar with outdoor seating, restaurant & recently renovated hotel near art galleries, designer shopping area & horse riding.

08/06/2025: Good, clean and warm hotel on the outskirts of Galway City.
08/06/2025: Friendly staff and good service when checking in and out. The room we got had no mini fridge, plus the safe didn’t work which was poor. Bathroom was also a bit scary (dirty grouting, shower head very old and limescaled), but lots of towels and the bed was comfy. Walls also paper thin, so I could hear everything in the corridor and the next room over (I could hear them moving the blinds, for example).
Breakfast was decent, good buffet plus pastries and muffins on offer.
Feel like it was only a 4* hotel because of the leisure centre attached, otherwise would definitely be a 3* - for the price point, a bit steep.

22/09/2024: I’m not being dramatic, but when I took my first bite of the mackerel with the salad and that caramelised rhubarb.. my hands praised a higher power in the sky , as if my body somatically reacted to the food, before my brain could even register a response…
Yes it was thaaat good! Everything about the food here, from the salad grown out front, to the little crunchy seeds and onions and the dressings and sauces… would not change a thing, try everything, it’s all delicious, fresh, absolute satisfaction on a plate,
On all of thee levels physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually 💜💜💜🌸🌸🌸💚💚💚 the best the best the best!
15/09/2024: A unique and fabulous spot for lunch in Inisbofin! We stopped off during a cycling tour of the island...4 adults, 4 children. The food was phenomenal especially the fish tacos. The hot dogs went down a treat for the children. Highly recommend and so glad we stopped!

11/07/2025: I ordered a Fresh Cream cake for a birthday online based on reviews. It was BY FAR the freshest and most delicious fresh cream cake we have ever had. Hands down we can's wait for the next birthday to try the another of their cakes!

ends of our journey. Love the good food and always find a ‘something’ to buy among
their gifts. Like this one ! Brown bread amazing and freezes beautifully.

The Lamplight Wine Bar and Merchants

26/05/2025: Good position, poor room accommodation, bad service (breakfast is not served until 9 o'clock, quite uncomfortable if you need to leave early in the morning - as a result we paid for it but we only had some cereals...). I do not recommend this place.
24/05/2025: The pancetta wrapped pork medallions were the best dish I had on our tour of Ireland. Their arancini and ravioli are also mentionably delicious.

30/03/2024: Great coffee. Busy popular spot in Barna Village. The pancakes with yogurt and berries were great and copious serving. Friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating if weather good. Warm and cosy indoors when weather otherwise. Local staff and which is becoming the exception..keep up the good work

Kylemore Abbey Garden Restaurant
18/09/2024: E' un self service e in orario di punta si forma una certa fila ma piuttosto scorrevole e veloce. Io ho preso lo stufato di agnello e devo dire che ha superato le mie aspettative perchè saporito e morbidissimo. Non all'altezza delle aspettative invece la "mitica" torta di mele. Prezzo abbastanza adeguato al tipo di ristorante.
25/05/2024: This is a fairly large restaurant catering to tourists, but has good food reasonably priced. I had a salmon and spinach quiche with salad, that filled me up for the rest of the day. Good value.
