19/03/2025: Flawless tasting menu with the perfect pairing of wine. A must try! We ended the dinner feeling happy, satisfied and not overly full, which is always a risk with this type of food experience. We found the pace to be perfect. We never had a dull moment. There was a perfect cadence of: bring the wine, explain the wine, allow a few minutes to enjoy it, bring the new course, explain the course, taste the course, clean, bring the new glass & restart. Toward the end of the dinner we started noticing how they adapted seamlessly to the pace of every table so that it felt they always left exactly the same time in between stages while they clearly weren't. Very smooth. Luis has great storytelling and a very good sense of humor that brought lightheartedness to the dinner, something that we always like and made us feel super comfortable. In fact, while it's clear there a lot of work went into preparing the dinner and then in serving it, I would never call this a "fancy dinner". It just didn't feel so, which means bonus points for me. All the 7 wines served were very interesting and tasty. Some were even surprising (like the first, which was a sweet wine!). All the courses were an explosion of flavour, often presented in surprising ways and the base ingredients were clearly very good. If I have to call out one single area of improvement, I think the finale could be improved. I found the mini madeleine of the petit-fours underwhelming. I then lacked a strong taste to end, something like coffee as they don't have decaf (they said they are getting a new machine) or a spirit (I think they only have wine & dessert wine)

26/01/2025: This was a beautiful place to eat. I could not recommend it highly enough. Food was top class. Owner was very attentive and pleasant. We will definitely return.

03/02/2025: Definitely the cosiest and friendliest pub in Waterford - the little snug with the fire is beyond compare. Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks with superb recommendations from Tom and the bar staff. Gigs upstairs are unreal. Best value glass of wine in a crystal glass ever!

29/12/2024: This evening, at 5:30 pm on a quiet Sunday, I brought my 16-year-old son and three of his friends to play a game of pool to celebrate his birthday. We had just done a day of bowling and go-cart racing so I wanted them to wind down and have a chat. The place was practically empty - just a couple and two older gentlemen. However, when my son went to get change from the bar, the barman informed him that he needed to be 21 to play pool??? I stepped in and asked "do you have to be over 18 to play pool?" The barman insisted that was the rule. Frustrated and bewildered, we left. I immediately rang the Mansion House next door to ask if the same rule applied there. The barman on the phone actually laughed and said, “Of course not—bring them in, as long as they’re not drinking!” Honestly, what a joke.

31/01/2025: Popped in for a quick bite on a Saturday evening. Place was quiet. Waited for a few minutes to be seated, but were told we would have to wait for a table. (About 50% of the tables were occupied). So decided to get a drink while waiting. Waited for 5 mins at the bar while 3 or 4 servers chatted and milled around. But no-one bother to take our order. Needless to say, we won't be back!

31/01/2025: We stayed here on the 24th & 25th of January. There was plenty of parking on arrival , we checked in with a lovely woman on the front desk who explained everything to us and even made sure to turn down the heating in our room which was very much apricated. Our room was fantastic very modern and clean with a super comfy bed. Breakfast had a large selection of hot and cold options. We ate in the restaurant on the second night it was fantastic very tasty , quick service and affordable. All the staff were super helpful and polite during our stay but Nicola & Sarah on the front desk and Dan in the bar really stood out to us. Thank you all for a lovely weekend we will be back. 20/02/2025: I had to meet my family at this restaurant today, I had a busy day so I picked up coffee on my way, so I walked in looking for my family I paid good money for the coffee so was not going to throw it away but as I entered restaurant I was met by a fella as o I told him I was looking for something people found my family and sat at table I didn't even get to speak two words this guy comes down to the table begins to betrate me Infront of my family, he made it abundantly clear that I could not drink my coffee in his restaurant which I wasn't he ten made it clear that they sell their own coffee I told him I wasn't buying another coffee when I had payed for this one I wasn't going to drink coffee in his restaurant I pulled him up on his disgraceful manner of in which he chose to talk to me about it, he raised his voice at me in a complete authoritarian manner Infront of a restaurant full of customers and my family I told him I would leave restaurant as soon as I've had a brief conversation with my family and again he kept going I told him that only I was with my family I'd have put him on his ass for way he spoke to me, I told him that his business decorum is absolutely disgraceful and un professional is This how he learned to speak to or treat visitors to his restaurant which he was very clear about saying he was the owner manager, I said he didn't have to approach me in manner he did he could have done what he needed to do discreetly in stead of berating me in front of my family and other customers, I said he could have just come to me and said to me that he wanted to have chat with me we could have both gone Somer where more discreetly and have had a quite conversation about it
