19/08/2025: Best fish and chips in Cork. They have a outlet in Carrigaline as well. JC Lennox and catch of the day can't be beaten for fish and chips in Cork. Update after 2 years : wouldn't change it a bit. It still is a 5 star place

13/08/2025: I had my best fishnchips in Kinsale! Got a kibbling box and even the small one for 8euros was definitely filling and the tartare sauce was delish!Chips were golden&crispy and the fish was fried to perfection! Has a lovely view to enjoy your food at aswell

08/09/2025: My partner, our dog, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience. We started with drinks on the terrace with an amazing sea view—I enjoyed a refreshing aperitivo cocktail, while my partner had a gluten-free, alcohol-free cider (great options for different preferences!). The welcoming vibe convinced us to stay for dinner, and we’re so glad we did. This cozy fish restaurant and pub is incredibly dog-friendly—our pup was allowed inside. The staff was very nice to welcome our request to give a bit of plain cooked fish to her. They served her fresh cod in a takeaway box! They also had water bowls outside and gave her plenty of attention. The food was fantastic—my partner had the pan-fried seabass fillet (gluten-free, with baby potatoes, mushrooms, and pesto beurre blanc), and I had the cold seafood platter, both fresh and delicious. The desserts and coffee were outstanding, and the prices were fair for the quality. The atmosphere was relaxed, the sea view was gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly—to both humans and dogs! Highly recommend for a great meal in a dog-friendly setting. We’ll definitely be back! P.S. Don’t miss a post-meal walk along the coast—Ballycotton is beautiful!

07/09/2025: Group of 4 stayed here for 1 night whilst travelling the south of Ireland. While the accommodation itself was lovely, location perfect and the food in restaurant was quite good there were a few incidents that left a bad taste. Upon check in, the member of staff was rude towards us, looking us up and down, we had paid in advance for our stay and also emailed over a list of the names of everybody staying in the accommodation due to their request about 2 weeks prior to checking in. The staff member in question proceeded to ask me (I had booked the accommodation) to write down everybodies names in front of her, and give my card details again (in case of any damages). Her manner was rude, curt & dismissive. Not how I have ever been treated upon check in. We were shown to our room and advised on a few basics. We had just been sea swimming so all 4 of us needed showers, after 1 person had a shower all the hot water had gone. Cold showers were had for the other 3 guests. The next morning we showered before check out, and there was no hot water at all. We spoke to a member of staff at reception, and a maintenance man came to the room to advise that the element had gone in the immersion. We went back to reception and they offered us to use the showers in the leisure centre, and that we could extend our check out to a certain extent. The staff members had changed the following morning and were more pleasant & apologetic than the lady who had checked us in the day before. We appreciated the gesture of letting use the leisure centre, and the apology, but the tone we were greeted with needs improvement. Wouldn't turn me off booking again as we have family in Schull, but they need to improve service.

31/08/2025: Live music, great drinks. And delicious food from next door at Fisk. Atmosphere was really lovely. Staff were extra friendly too. Had the cod tacos and udon noodles would recommend!

15/08/2025: Had a lovely lunch here, the quick fix special and my partner had the sea food chowder. Both were exceptional. The veg soup was to die for Will definitely be back

15/08/2025: Popped into The Quay as wanted to get the feel of a traditional Irish pub. The wooden beams and space was nice. The staff smiling and polite always asking if everything was ok. Tried a guiness from the motherland and omg thousand times better than the stuff I'm served in London. Ordered a sea food chowder. My taste buds where dancing, the chowder was heart warming and the fish was amazing. Thank you Quay Bar and thankyou team for being best in class your hospitality was noted.

18/08/2025: Excellent fish and chips. Fish was fresh, perfect batter, chips where perfect as well. Not overly oily like others. Great service.
