27/12/2025: Great atmosphere.. that’s about it. an absolute masterclass in how not to treat customers. We were served one drink and then, for reasons known only to the staff, suddenly became objects of fascination. Pointing, throwing looks across the bar.
No trouble caused, no explanation given, just told we were not welcome. It’s reassuring to know your money isn’t good enough for certain establishments
What makes it even more ironic is that a family member of our group owns multiple pubs and restaurants across Waterford city, places that actually understand hospitality. Respect works both ways. Staff here might want to be careful where they go for breakfast or next time they book that lovely meal, they could find themselves shown the door before the menu 😉
Plenty of bars in Waterford manage good atmosphere and basic decency. This isn’t one of them for sure.

13/12/2025: Rude customer service. Food was not fresh and had a strange taste and smell. Clearly frozen chips. Weird looking satay sauce that masked the taste of the awful food. Fiery red sweet and sour sauce in a contaminated container. Will not come here again. Would not recommend!

23/04/2026: Ordered a delivery tonight, just -eat said itd be over and hour, Brennans had it to us in half that fresh hot and delicious. At the door the delivery man said he had no change and would call back. We'd barely finished and he knocked back with the change and refused a tip! Serious food and serious service!

10/07/2025: Saw good reviews elsewhere so gave it a try. Chips were average at best. Battered sausages were the worst ive ever had. Whoever made the batter doesn't know how to make batter let alone they were drenched in dirty oil. Burger was cheap quality garbage in a stale bun. Wouldn't order again
I understand the damage bad reviews can do but if you don't want them then don't serve DIRT to paying customers. Food was barely fit for human consumption

30/12/2025: Ordered food from the Abrakebabra in City Square Shopping Centre Waterford and the chap behind the counter was so rude. He looked to be by himself collecting trays and taking orders and doing food prep, which is understandable for the intial delay in service. However, when my friend and I went to order Animikh was so rude to both of us, i was asking to see if I could order items with my meal and I could not hear him he did not try to help in any capacity. He asked why we had not ordered together, as if thats any of his business, god forbid we would want to pay separately for our own food! Service was exceptionally slow. The food was fine, only slightly cold (for food that had been cooked fresh is impressive), the onion rings were overcooked and inedible. Wouldnt come back here to eat again.

15/12/2025: Cash machine would not accept a cheque or cash.
So I have to use the cashier and the queue is about 15 people long and moving slower than the workers at the national children's hospital.
Honestly you'd need at least 40 minutes to do any business in this place.
I'm sure the staff do their best but not everyone has half the day spare to do what should take two minutes.
I wish people would complian more, we're their customers and we are clearly not valued in any way

18/09/2023: Dog friendly. Good food. Little expensive i thought but it was really nice flavour. Chicken gougons had a harf cripsy coating and the smash burger was really good. Order took a bit long but we'll worth the wait.

I had "Squash bhaji" which was really good. Chips could have less or non salt, especially for kids meals.

25/07/2025: This is review on the takeaway service in Cafe Goa.
Firstly the food is lovely, but although you are told it is busy, and takeaways can be up to an hr for delivery, we live literally 5 mins drive from restaurant but were having a drink so we couldn't collect.
2hrs for delivery and food stone cold when it arrived.
The price is expensive but if the food is good you can accept that, however , what I can't accept is cold food for the expensive cost.
So unfortunately I will not be eating or ordering from Cafe Goa again.
