29/01/2025: i came here today to get a coffe / and there was que in front so i decided to use the toilet before and when i was passing over the counter receptionist name Jay shouted across the cafe at me toilet only for coustumer use only. that was the rudest thing i heard in my life other customers also expressed the same shock as me. how can someone put up with such a rude behaviour.

09/09/2025: The range of flavors is great for instant noodles. Missing a few things. But if you're looking to cook Asian food, you can't go wrong here. Pricing is a bit funky as most things are priced but others aren't. Id try sticking to the procedure items

28/10/2025: Usually love Hook & Ladder, but last visit wasn't the best experience. We couldnt get out of there quickly enough literally tormented by the same looped 4 traks of 'musak' and at way too loud a volume for comfort. We couldn't believe none of the staff seemed to be aware that the tracks were replaying, I think we heard them almost a dozen times. The other unbelievably loud noise compounded the first. Five or six late teen to early twenties waitor/waitresses were making a right racket having a congress at the counter, blissfully unaware of the volume they were at. Very nice, each one, but we genuinely felt agitated and stressed by the time we got out of there. Not a visit we'd ever like to repeat.

18/10/2025: One of my favourite spots for brunch in Waterford. We recently hosted a baby shower here and the service was lovely. We were accommodated nicely and also the food was great. Highly recommend for a cozy and relaxing vibe .

05/11/2025: Ordered at 9pm last night, at 10pm it was finally on the way. The driver didn't move for about 10 minutes so I sent a message on Uber. He then called me to say he's stuck with two orders. The restaurant was closing and had cleaned up and said they aren't making the orders. Told the driver to mark them as collected. He was then stuck with the orders on his app and couldn't do more orders (driver is top rated). Shameful that the restaurant didn't even call themselves. Not my first incident here over customer service ridiculous carry on. Back to Changaro for the customer service. Update: As much as I'd hate to drag a family business, the way you treat customers here is disgusting. I posted this a month ago, got a reply fairly quick but can now see they've edited their response one day ago. Horrible to be blaming Uber and the drivers when they're the only ones who made contact, you were probably home and all by then. The food was not late, it was refused to be made. Driver was in an awful panic. Hilarious reading all the reviews, but what's even funnier is the we checked CCTV response.. had an issue like this before, claimed staff aka family "didn't do it" and insisted I was lying about an order being wrong. Told them not to bother checking but they called back to say the camera showed driver taking wrong order which was a lie since rest of order was perfect. (Dietary requirements meant the wrong one couldn't be eaten). But I think the most APPALLING part is the absolute audacity and rudeness of the owner replies. Might be " in the business years " as they say, but clearly have learnt zero customer service... Won't be wasting more time on this review or this place🤑

16/11/2025: Joke of a place ordered from just eat it never came went to the restaurant had a manager and a worker there say they’re is nothing the can do. Told me they can’t check the courier which is BS as it’s on there ticket. Sunday evening no refund take aways are dear enough without not even getting the order. The worker was smart mouthed too avoid this place like the plague

16/11/2025: Ordered food and never received it went all the way there and they didn’t do anything about it even tho I paid them for food my hard earned money for food and just told to contact just eat and go hungry. Absolutely disappointing and terrible customer service

19/12/2025: The food choices were very limited even though we had a booking at the Waterford branch . The portion sizes were not matching with the price. There was a strong foul smell all through the dining area, probably coming out from the carpet. Also they had only two payment option offered, either cash or Revolut. Altogether didn't meet the expectation 😔

16/12/2025: The food was decent, and the unlimited buffet is priced at €18. However, compared to the Dublin branch, this place offers far fewer options, especially when it comes to starters and seafood. When I visited on a Sunday, the buffet included chicken biryani, chicken 65, and two types of vegetarian curries (dal and aloo). There were no fish or duck options—only chicken—so the variety felt quite limited. For €18, it’s acceptable, but when compared to the Dublin one, it does feel slightly overpriced. That said, the taste was excellent, and compliments to the chef for that. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. One downside is the lack of parking. You’ll need to park elsewhere (paid parking) and walk to the restaurant. Overall, a decent experience mainly for the taste, but limited variety and parking are things to keep in mind.

05/07/2025: The impressions from visiting this place are not the most pleasant. There are no prices on the menu, which is strange. Not all drinks are translated into English. The table with napkins is dirty. It is obvious that the staff has difficulty serving a large flow of customers. Judging by the taste, appearance and execution of bubble tea, its price is too high.

30/10/2025: I got a pepperoni pizza and a battered sausage out of Maza Takeaway in Waterford. I have to say, this food was shockingly good. The pepperoni pizza was fresh to death, with Maza using high quality ingredients, as you get what you pay for, but the quality is unbelievable, with the toppings being so high quality, it makes you question yourself, Where can I get these ingredients so I can make my own version of this pizza so it tastes the same as Maza's? The battered sausage was on point, with the meat tasting juicy and the batter staying on, with it actually tasting better than a battered sausage out a traditional chipper. The service was also excellent, as I got my food delivered and the food was 30 minutes early, but it was still piping hot, which is a sign that this restaurant is managing their business extremely well. The delivery driver was nice as well, as he offered me a voucher for the restaurant as it was my first time ordering from the restaurant. Seriously, I do not get what all the 1 star reviews of this place are for and I hope you keep this quality of food going. Lads, thank you for actually making good food and managing this restaurant perfectly at the same time. Not many restaurants do this. Maza, I hope you continue to open for as long as possible. Also, I did not give the atmosphere any stars as I haven't been in the restaurant before. I will be back next summer for sure 💯💯💯

14/10/2025: Absolutely love MAZA! The food is always fresh and full of flavour. Their pizzas and tandoori chicken are amazing, and the munchy boxes are perfect for sharing. Friendly service, great prices, and fast delivery — definitely my go-to takeaway in town!

10/09/2025: Kind staff, has an upstairs seating which I love and I always come for the berry refresher, wish they’d supply more of that pasta though, but it’s amazing and I’d recommend going for a quiet place to relax and hang out or to get some work done.

02/08/2025: Under staffed and those that were on were dirty looking and rude. Cappuccinos are served with chocolate. Don’t act as if it’s an inconvenience! Tables filthy. Would not use the toilets as manky.

16/10/2025: I'd been passing by for a couple of years, wondering, as always, what else could surprise me... We had a kebab meal. It was delicious, the portion was large, the spices were just right, and there was plenty of meat. We finished the whole thing on our second try.

27/12/2025: Great atmosphere.. that’s about it. an absolute masterclass in how not to treat customers. We were served one drink and then, for reasons known only to the staff, suddenly became objects of fascination. Pointing, throwing looks across the bar. No trouble caused, no explanation given, just told we were not welcome. It’s reassuring to know your money isn’t good enough for certain establishments What makes it even more ironic is that a family member of our group owns multiple pubs and restaurants across Waterford city, places that actually understand hospitality. Respect works both ways. Staff here might want to be careful where they go for breakfast or next time they book that lovely meal, they could find themselves shown the door before the menu 😉 Plenty of bars in Waterford manage good atmosphere and basic decency. This isn’t one of them for sure.
