The best restaurants in Waterford

04/07/2024: We booked restaurant weeks in advance for a very special occasion. When we arrived we were put sitting at the door which was extremely uncomfortable with people coming in and out and hitting/brushing off you as they passed. It was freezing cold with the door opening and closing every 30 seconds and the back of my chair was broken and I was unable to sit back into it in case I toppled over. It was the worst dining experience we ever had. I asked management could we move tables to be rudely told no it wasn’t possible even though the table beside us was empty. The table was then given to a family who dropped in on the off chance of getting a table. They hadn’t booked and we know that because I asked them! The food was very basic to say the least and my partner didn’t get his main course for 20 minutes after everyone else was served. The dessert was tasteless and the tea served was cold and like water. The only thing that was exceptional was the bill and to finish off the worst dining experience we ever had was that we were overcharged and had to be refunded for items we didn’t have. To diners out there, stop, pause and thing twice before you dine at the White Horse Ardmore.

28/06/2024: Amazing find in Ardmore for an unplanned lunch stop with a large group of 15 including kids. Everything was superb, food service and garden ambience. Perfect final lunch after an a large family gettogether.

03/07/2024: Used to love this chipper,but lately the food is over cooked,staff rude, chips reheated ..won't go again as it's not the first time ...I put the last few bad experiences down to a bad day...guess it's just how they are now...

13/04/2024: For many years i have enjoyed the best fish & chips in waterford from walshes but it is now very unpredictable, and the final straw came yesterday 12th April 2024 The fish was very small, batter had a stalish taste and chips although plentiful were dry, big & hard and not very nice, is was friday, 6.30pm, no cars parked outside, no-one in the shop either, Is this because other people have had similar disapointment? Will not go here again.

05/10/2024: We were here on a Collette tour, Anna was lovely for our group dinner. Friendly, helpful and professional! Wonderful dinner experience!

05/10/2024: When we arrived our check was prompt and the concierge from the hotel came on the bus to do the intro and procedures to us prior to us coming into the hotel. Great service! Dinner in the restaurant was also very good! Our meal was delicious and Anna our server was prompt, personable and very efficient . Her sense of humour was delightful!! All in all we truly enjoyed our stay.

27/05/2024: I’ll never return again. Gave them a chance. Got a beef Szechuan and fried rice (had to pay extra) and a chicken and sweetcorn soup. Joked about buying prawn crackers but they’d give me free ones. Was told I’d need to spend more. Bought spring rolls on top for another 4 quid. Got my order. No prawn crackers. Asked why. You need to spend more. I’d gotten a starter, a soup and a main course! That level of hungriness deserves zero support. Other Chinese restaurants throw them in with every order.
