Some of the nicest fish and chips I've ever had. Flaky fresh fish with light, crispy, delicious batter

Not gonna lie might be one of the best chippys I’ve had. It’s always a good sign when a chippy makes you wait rather than getting something out from under a heat lamp. Very fresh not overly fatty and comes in proper paper not a horrible polystyrene tray. Well priced too 12-13 euro for a big portion.

Delicious fish & chips! I had the cod. The batter was fried perfectly - brown and crispy! The chips were a little chewy, but still tasted great! Very generous portion served with vinegar and salt. Declan is an absolute legend! Had a good chat while I was waiting and he even gave me a complimentary home-made tartare sauce because I came all the way to Dingle from Australia! Thanks Declan. Great to meet you!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Dingle. We’d spent the morning walking Ventry Beach and some time in the Dingle shops. Fortunately my sister had done some research and we knew this is where we wanted to have a late lunch. The three chairs at the counter were open so we were able to eat in the restaurant. The catch was cod and monkfish for the day and I love monkfish, so I was happy. We had a nice chat with the owner and heard about his 30 year career fishing and now using local friends as his fish supplier. The interior of the small shop is so well decorated.

Little beach shack, take away fish and chips, can't go wrong. Fresh caught, best monkfish I've had. Well worth it!

Amazing place + food right in Dingle. Better half and I ate Fish/chips and a hamburger at the side counter. Unbelievably great. So many flavors, incredibly fresh with a reasonably priced menu. You know it’s good when there’s a steady stream in and out of a place. To top it off, the owner/cook is super cool and talented. A+

This is a take-away--and do stop in for take-away. The staff there is friendly, informative, sweet and funny. There were many choices for the fish--haddock and hake, yes. And several more--I had the monk fish. Oh, so delicious. The chips are crispy on the outside, soft and luscious inside. I'm a vinegar and salt lover, so that was my choice. There are picnic tables and walls to sit on at the harbor. Some pubs will allow the food if you order a drink. I sat by the water--and watched the boats and enjoyed the beauty and devoured this delicious late lunch.

Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon. We'd had a recommendation that this was the best chipper! And it was. Hake and cod were sweet and tasty. Chips were excellent. And don't pass up the homemade curry and tartar!

Solas Tapas & Wine Bar

13/12/2025: I am sorry to say that my friend and I were very disappointed with Solas as we had heard great things about it. We ordered about 7 dishes, 2 spuds and the sourdough (which was supermarket quality bread) and a bottle of wine, which was delicious to be fair. The croquettes were rock hard and when I finally managed to cut one open the filling was too runny. The oysters had too much roe on them, which was unnecessary and took away from the flavour of them. The scallop ceviche portion was tiny and worked out €9 a portion. They were very flavourless. The cured sardine was inedible so we left that one behind. The bill came to a whopping €258. Perhaps the prices were increased for Other Voices and perhaps we arrived at a bad time because it was very busy. We were reminded by the waitress on multiple occasions that we needed to leave by a certain time and that made us feel unwelcome and rushed. She seemed to be stressed. All over it was all style and no substance and I am happy to pay that amount of money when the food is excellent and this was not the case.
03/12/2025: Super experience in Solas over the weekend, having wanted to try for so long. Had a mix of small and medium plates with the standouts being the wagyu beef taco, crab tartlets and the oysters although all dishes were exceptional. Service was excellent and right on the mark in terms of pace, friendliness and helpfulness. A well oiled machine in the heart of Dingle.
