03/11/2024: A beautiful shop full of crafts, handmade skin care products, jewellery, art and candles etc Lovely coffee and cake bar with tables and chairs. When we were there on a Sunday, when most of the town shops are closed, they had 2 ladies singing and playing instruments, drawing a crowd in. Was lucky enough to meet the business owner twice around the town, a totally charming lady. Highly recommend a visit.

14/12/2024: I visited about 15 years ago. I used to wear my hair loosely tied in a scrunchie, I was on the staircase and felt someone touching my hair. There was no one around.

08/12/2024: Bantry House is one of the most stunning places in West Cork. Their gardens are a must visit, but if you have time I highly recommend staying in their B&B, breakfast is delicious, attention is second to none and everyone is super friendly, it feels like home. I really can’t wait to go back.

23/01/2025: Cosy pub atmosphere with warm staff. Food is very good with enough variety of offerings for everyone. Seafood never fails to be fresh and full of flavour. Don’t have to wait in the winter but make reservations in the summer✔️👍🏻

08/12/2024: The mussels and prawn risotto consisted of clam shells, clams (not mussels), 4 tiny prawns and rice with a large amount of butter. Not worth the €23 by any stretch of the imagination.

03/10/2024: Siamo stati in questo locale a prendere un irish coffee (buonissimo) e le torte fatte in casa. Il posto é immerso in un’atmosfera magica, strana, insolita. Il proprietario ha anche scambiato con noi qualche parola in italiano e anche se in un primo momento può sembrare un po’ burbero si è rivelato uno dei personaggi più simpatici del nostro lungo giro in Irlanda. Tra le varie torte che abbiamo provato la nostra preferita è stata quella al whisky, davvero squisita. Se dovessi mai ripassare da quelle zone ci tornerei immediatamente!

26/09/2024: My group had a really disappointing experience recently. I work as a community worker on the north side of the Cork and had arranged over the phone to bring a group of 15 elderly people to see an exhibition advertised to be on until 31st December 2024. I had let the venue know we would be coming and had asked about lifts, access etc. All was hunky dory over the phone. When we got there on the monday morning, we were told by the staff member I had spoken to on the phone the week before that the exhibition had been taken down at short notice because of Culture Night. I had people aged 65 to 83yrs with me, yet the staff member in charge offered no apology, nor were we offered to sit down to catch our breath or encouraged to stay for a cup of tea or offered any help in finding another exhibition or thing of interest close by. The staff member in charge claimed I had got my dates mixed up and showed no people's skills nor kindness. A few days later I requested contact with a manager through the website 'contact us' section. It's been 11 days and I haven't received a call or an email. A missed opportunity to connect and restore confidence. I won't be bringing groups to St Peter Church in future nor promote its activities in my own circles.

02/10/2024: Made a booking online then turned up (after driving 20 mins) and they have signs up saying permanently closed…suggest to change the booking system to stop taking bookings

30/09/2024: We ate twice at O’Connor’s whilst visiting Bantry - breakfast and diner - with a large and small family group. Our Aunt Margaret loves O’Connors so we skipped mass and headed over for a hearty breakfast. We had a large crowd over and O’Connor’s, who were very busy, were superb in accommodating our booking. Service was fast and attentive, the staff lovely even though they were rushed off their feet. Luckily Margaret had booked and we saw many people turned away. O’Connor’s is clean and modern, a lovely place that has a great atmosphere and the staff take time to chat, again, despite being busy. Portions are great and because I arrived a little late, the O’Connor’s team sorted me a fantastic gluten free bacon sandwich. A couple of nights later, we went for dinner with a smaller group and it was very good. We sat in the covered area out side and it felt very cosmopolitan, Brilliant restaurant, family friendly and good value. The key selling point is the fantastic staff. I understand it’s up for sale and the challenge for new owners will be matching how good this place is. Lovely people, good food and brilliant service.

02/02/2025: Well worth a visit staff welcoming and very professional. Food was super my husband had battered fish chips and mushy peas looked delicious I had baked hake in a lemon butter sauce with veg on the side beautifully cooked . A delicious porter cake with chocolate and a salted caramel ice cream.

14/12/2024: Must try!!! Love local seafood and the Fish Kitchen prepares it to perfection. Crab sandwich and fish tacos were super fresh and flavourful. Desserts lovely. Not to mention the staff are great👍🏻

06/08/2024: Had the turkey, bacon, and brie sandwich while waiting for someone at the doctor. It was delicious and the place was really nice. Don’t be fooled by its location next to the clinic - everyone said their food was fantastic.
