01/02/2025: Really cute, family style cafe in the heart of Donegal town. Very good prices & portions. A bit cramped & slow service, but still really lovely!

26/01/2025: It is a nice small cafe right at the heart of the Donegal town. The place is great for their breakfast and meals. Also look out for their specials as well for the day which are mentioned on the board beside the counter. We had ordered their freshly house made scones and french toast, cappuccino and flat white for us. They not only have lovely breakfast on their menu but also have great scone of different flavour to die for. The scones were served with fresh cream, jam and butter. The ambience is great with fabulous decor on the walls. The food was good fancy and nicely presented. The breakfast was definitely fulfilling in quantity. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They also have a good outdoor sitting if the weather is good and bright. I will personally love to visit again whenever I am in town next time, until then I will recommend this cafe to my near and dear ones.

13/02/2025: We went here two nights in a row when visiting Donegal - lovely fresh seafood and delicious apple pie! Great service as well, would definitely recommend!

13/01/2025: A night out with my Daughter for my birthday and hers this month before she returns to university, it was a quiet night at the restaurant, the young server was pleasant and welcoming, the meal Chicken of Eireann was "Lonely"!! the plate was empty almost, some fresh veg wouldn't have gone amiss!! the chips or "fries" as advertised ?? were FROZEN chips for these prices I don't expect Frozen chips, My Daughter had the Harbour fish cakes she was happy enough with her meal

11/02/2025: Food was lovely, everything cooked perfectly, friendly staff but very confused and bad understanding of what we wanted, I asked for a small fry, the child wanted pancakes bacon syrup, hubby asked for large fry, the waitress then told me the small breakfast is for kids only so I said okay il just have large black coffee, we also asked for a coke or Pepsi for the child, While serving was fast it was completely wrong, hubby got his fry, she also handed me a large fry, which I just took and didn't explain that I didn't order two large frys, then a small fry for the child, which I did explain she wanted pancakes bacon syrup, waitress seemed to struggle with what we were saying, she explains that there is no maple syrup so we went with the Nutella and strawberries, the child also never received her drink, I gave her the milk that was brought to the table (I think for my coffee). It felt more like ordering food abroad than in my own country due to lack of understanding. Seemed to be all down to speaking different languages and understanding.

03/02/2025: Fast service, nice and clean place. Very good food. The espresso coffee was good and my Chai Latte was excellent plus they serve a large portion. Fast service and friendly staff.

06/01/2025: This is one the finest restaurants I have been in donegal. The hype of the restaurant comes in light with it's huge queue before the dinner starts. There is usually waiting list for around 20 mins time but it's good to go ahead and pre-book it one the weekends especially. There is a great variety of dishes with vegetarian and meat options. We had ordered spring rolls and seafood chowder for starters. They were absolutely tasty and came within record time I'll say. For mains we had ordered carbonara, chicken Supreme with sauce, kofta balls, and a burger with fries. The food and the service was amazing and couldn't hold back with the amazing deserts as well.

02/02/2025: Had a wonderful meal this evening, the staff were professional and very helpful, the manager went out of her way to make sure we were catered for as I have a disability. The food and service were 100%. Without a doubt the best place to eat in Donegal town.

31/12/2024: Servicio impactante. La comida era preciosa. Reservado hace 2 meses y nos hicieron esperar en el bar durante 20 minutos cuando llegamos a tiempo. Otras parejas se sentaron ante nosotros y llegaron tarde. Nos hizo ordenar en el bar, no se comprueba una vez, no se nos preguntó si nos gustaba algo más después de que se sentaron nuestras tuberías principales y la actitud del personal era repugnante. He comido aquí antes y era de primera clase, pero esta noche fue terrible. Su excusa era “es año nuevo”. Muy pobre, una Nochevieja arruinada por la desorganización del personal. Recomiendo encarecidamente otros lugares en la zona.

14/01/2025: The Reel Inn offers a fantastic atmosphere, particularly highlighted by their exceptional point of Guinness. The service is remarkable, making patrons feel welcomed and well taken care of. On top of that, the live music adds a vibrant energy to the place. I didn’t get a chance to try the food this visit, but I’m looking forward to experiencing it on my next trip.

07/01/2025: I came across this place when I was roaming around in the Donegal Town but never knew this place is a hidden gem from inside. I have been here before but just had coffee and did not had chance to taste their food that day. But later or sooner I did get another chance to taste from their menu. We were here celebrating my colleagues birthday and had met for lunch at Simple Simons as this is her best place to go to. Not gonna lie the food was excellent, beyond my expectations. Being a vegetarian there are very less options for us when we go out for lunch or dinner or anything. Here I had 2 or 3 options to choose from. The ambience here is quite beautiful and the show stopper is the view you get from the window of the Donegal Diamond Centre. I won't write much but the experience here was fabulous and food was worth to try for and also very convenient as it is right at the centre of Donegal Town. Difficult to get street parking but there is a great parking lot nearby just where we catch the waterbus from. The shop is at walkable distance of hardly 2 min from the parking lot. I would recommend going and enjoying food from their lovely menu.

15/12/2024: ¡La semana pasada estuve en Donegal Town por negocios y vine a Sie Simon a tomar algo! Pedí un poco de lasaña, pero no tenían ninguna así que decidieron por 3 Rollos de Salchicha! para llevar! Le di a la dependienta 20 euros y me devolvieron E 2 euros 35 centavos... Le dije a la dependienta que le había dado E 20 euros y ella respondió abruptamente que mi compra era E 17 : 65 euros... Para 3 rollos de embutido de tamaño mediano ... . ¡Todavía estoy en shock!

04/02/2025: Definitely a place you have to try! They have really good food, which I wasn’t fully expecting. It was busy and there’s minimal setting so you may have to wait or order takeout. Staff is super friendly and you can tell the food was fresh! Would try the fish tacos and loaded fries! Slightly on the more expensive side but worth it!

01/02/2025: Really good food, pleasantly surprised for a restaurant that’s located next to a SuperValue. Not a lot of seating inside, and gets very busy, so might be better off calling & ordering takeout. But very good portions for good prices.

02/02/2025: One of the bouncers was very aggressive for no reason I have a security license myself and that attitude should not be tolerated I believe he felt threatened because I was bigger than him he should understand when you are doing security for somewhere your ego does not matter but he did not understand that you should be respectful to every customer.

30/01/2025: It's a nice cosy pub. It was suggested by a lot of locals and hence we went to try it. The drinks are reasonably priced and the vibe is great. It was good to connect with some younger generation who were very kind and helpful. The older generation in the pub was a bit weird though. A bunch of old men kept passing comments at us. It felt even worse given that we were stuck in storm and took shelter there for a while. I expected them to be a bit considerate if not too kind.

15/01/2025: Fantastic experience! Highest food quality, great service and magical atmosphere. We enjoyed breakfast here during our stay at the Gateway Lodge, highly recommended!

28/01/2025: Had the best experience with them. The staff was really nice and warm. The girls on reception just make you feel comfortable with their chats and good suggestions about places to visit. The manager is pretty chill and friendly guy as well. We stayed there for 2 days and were to check out on the day of storm ewoyn but the staff told us to stay longer that day without any additional charges given the weather. It's not common these days even though we didn't ask for it. They're genuinely gem of people. ✨✨

17/01/2025: 1st time staying here and will be our new go to location if staying in Donegal town. Very clean and modern + a special mention to the girl who checked us in on 16/01/25 she is a credit to the hotel.

25/01/2025: We have a family lunch here on New Year 2025. Great portions of food and very delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will come back again for sure. 👍

05/10/2024: Mega tasty and fresh. Super friendly staff. Another restaurant that I would like to take home with me. So if you're looking for a restaurant in Donegal, I can only recommend this one.
