31/10/2025: Great time at Pat Cohan's Pub. This bar was a fun little treat, walkable distance from Ashford Castle. Enjoyed the chicken wings, as well as the salmon and halibut dishes we ordered. Found memories of watching the movie The Quiet Man with my father during my childhood, even though the movie was before my time. Took a few pictures of the pub, and upon hearing me asking my wife to get a picture of me at the bar, the bartender asked if I wanted to come behind the bar, which I happily agreed too. This will make my father very happy, so well worth it, a great experience overall.

20/08/2025: Previous review a bit harsh , food was very nice , the brown bread was really lovely , the staff were welcoming and friendly , and when I might have made a wrong judgement I’ll always apologise, I also should have read the menu correctly , there is absolutely NO reason not to enjoy a lovely breakfast in a warm welcoming atmosphere, which we find is the norm from Mayo people , warm welcoming and DECENT , so for any hungry tourists or locals , pop in to Mc Hugh’s of Cong , they won’t disappoint

16/09/2025: 4.5/5⭐ Excellent hotel with brilliant friendly caring staff. Cong is an amazing village and a great base to get around from.
The breakfast was fantastic. Best porridge I've had and The Irish Breakfast top class.
Evening meals were superb too.
Guinness was top level.
So why only 4.5⭐.
Parking. Although, it says parking available, the reality is there are 4 spots. Best just to say, 'parking is very limited'. A few drive arounds and you can find a place.
Overall, a great stay. Good people and excellent food.

The typical evening meal was excellent.
The breakfast was perfect and plentiful.
Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

21/10/2025: We love the Crows Nest restaurant and have been quite a few times.
The menu is varied and large. Food is always tasty and reasonably priced.
Servers were very polite and helpful.
Restaurant was clean and decor fab.
Toilets (male and ladies) were good.
Large car park.
16/10/2025: Had a really lovely meal here this evening! I had the beef burger and loaded chips and my husband had the mixed grill and couldn't fault it!
Nathan our waiter was fab and very polite!

29/08/2025: Came from Belfast looking forward to the quiet Man village got told about the food was really looking forward to have are dinner and was waiting in the bar area with all our kids for over two hours which we came with free families in total. There was kids everybody was hungry and looking forward to their meals. There was a foreign man behind the bar which told us food will be served at 5 o’clock which it was 3 o’clock then when 5 o’clock came, they would not serve us other people in which we seen when we was in the bar across the way getting food devastated and that happened? Do not recommend at all due to foreigners working in the bar given false information and was very rude!!!
28/08/2025: The best night we had during our Irish trip ! Great staff, great atmosphere, great people, great Guinness ! Ça va très bien ! :)

08/08/2024: Visita de regreso a este hotel.
Decepcionado con algunas cosas.
Sentí la zona exterior muy sucia, y teniendo en cuenta que es lo primero que la gente ve, los platos sucios, vasos vacíos dejados durante más de una hora en mesas desatendidas era tan poco atractivo.
Ciertamente no se debió a la falta de personal, ya que parecía haber suficiente cantidad de ellos trabajando.
Y mientras que el personal del bar atento y amable, el personal de camareros podría absolutamente hacer con algunos consejos sobre el servicio al cliente, todos parecían hartos, como si no quisieran estar allí y no un poco acogedor o atractivo.
No me alojaría de nuevo.
Una ubicación tan fabulosa y podría ser excelente lamentablemente sentía que había bajado colina de años anteriores.
En una nota adicional pagando solo en efectivo por las comidas grita Dudoso y los clientes deben ser informados antes de hacer el pedido.
15/07/2024: Pensé que podríamos cenar aquí... olvídalo. Bar muy ruidoso gracias a los varios televisores salpicados a todo volumen. Cuando le pregunté a la camarera si podíamos conseguir una mesa me dijeron que "no tenía ni idea, pregunte al personal del comedor". El 'comedor' consistía en muebles baratos parecidos a una cafetería de la escuela sin personal a la vista, así que esperamos y esperamos, pero nadie se acercó a nosotros. La clientela que estaba comiendo allí (descubrimos mientras esperábamos) consistía en una gran familia de la comunidad itinerante!! Hemos dado marcha atrás rápidamente y sin duda nunca volverá. ¡El lugar es lo que mi hija describió como "una inmersión"!
