16/11/2025: The food was very good and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and welcoming. It was the perfect place for lunch after exploring Connemara National Park.
15/11/2025: Thatched roof atmosphere continues inside and is very quaint and homey, but didn't feel cheap or outdated.

16/11/2025: What a gem! We’d happily take a long detour just to come here. Hate to admit it - but as the Copenhagen coffee snobs we probably are - we were genuinely excited to find a place that truly knows their craft.
Everything they serve is excellent 🫶🏼 Hot chocolate is the best we’ve ever had. The only thing missing to make us fully homesick would be a bun with butter and cheese. We may or may not have gone three times. (We did.)

Their main courses get a delicious in my book too.
Great service with a smile and when more familiar with you, banter to enjoy.
Well worth the time to stop for a break from whatever your days involves.

18/09/2024: We stopped for a coffee and ended up having breakfast because the place looked great and the girls who ran it were so friendly.
The French omelet with ham and cheese was delicious.

12/08/2025: FLORENCE: I enjoyed a lovely stay in Carrown Tober House with my son and daughter. Mary was very welcoming and so kind, so attentive to the needs of my daughter with special needs. She served us a delicious breakfast. The bedrooms are immaculate and very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
25/07/2025: We spent a wonderful few days in this house and enjoyed the hospitality of Mary and Gerry. The house is very centrally located, just five minutes from the small town of Oughterard. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with a spacious bathroom and bathtub. For breakfast, you can choose from Irish and continental specialties. We would happily recommend this house.

25/08/2025: Our family had a very memorable stay here. Rooms were very clean with a lot of space. The breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect, right in the middle of scenic places to drive. The best part was the staff who were so friendly and made sure we have a lovely stay. Thank you so much!
