The best restaurantsof irish in Cavan

27/01/2025: I found this restaurant very homely and comfortable and seemed a very popular local spot. The staff were very friendly and attentive from the minute we walked in. The food was ok, but not as spectacular as I would have expected from reading reviews before booking. We tried a few different dishes, including the wings, mushroom toast, Korean chicken, supreme of chicken, which were good, but again I wasn't overly blown away. It's still a very nice restaurant to visit if in Cavan town.

22/02/2025: PERFECT DUBLIN TO STAIRWAYS TO HEAVEN PITSTOP!! Stopped in here for breakfast today before heading on our hike. Food was French and tasty with a great variety of options. Staff were soooo friendly and there was plenty of parking! 5 Stars…well done to all involved

19/02/2025: Stopped here for a bite to eat today 😋. I had the cajun toastie with fries, it was absolutely delicious 😋.The staff were very friendly, and helpful. Willows cafe is absolutely spotless, totally love the decor and the color really suits this cafe plus the many windows gives it warmth especially as the sun was out for a short-time . I shall definitely be returning and 100% recommending to family & friends.

01/02/2025: The staff here are warm and friendly, extremely considerate and courteous. So that’s a great start. And then you can consider the ambience which is inviting and unpretentious with simple decor that still has enough to draw the eye to various areas of the space. The cocktails and wines available seem to offer choice without being overwhelming - another plus. The food here is, naturally, the star. Having eaten here twice now, I can safely say that it’s our favourite restaurant we’ve discovered since moving to Cavan 15 months ago. The food is not flashy or overly complicated. Instead, they make relatively simple food with good, fresh ingredients, and the result are dishes that are packed with satisfyingly rich and complementary flavours. Nothing feels too heavy or ostentatious, and we have left clean plates on both occasions. It’s a cliché, isn’t it, that you get what you pay for. The balance here feels right, and this evening, three of us had a three course meal with drinks for under €180. That feels like excellent value for the quality of the food and the impeccable service.

26/01/2025: Booked a table well in advance which is advisable. The food is spectacular, duck confit tartlet, braised pork cheek as starters, great blend of flavours & textures. Steak & halibut as mains..steak was on the tough side and the fish slightly overcooked but the accompaniments helped ease any disappointment. Strawberry tart with elderflower sorbet was really good, sorbet was gorgeous. Drinks orders were a bit slow but not the end of the world. Overall great food with a few minor let downs. Definitely worth a visit again. Have been back 25/01/25 and again food was great, definitely now on my recommended places to eat. Great atmosphere and staff are friendly and approachable…

03/09/2024: We had our dinner in foxes on Sunday. It was fabulous so tasty 😋 tasted like more...beautiful place and very friendly helpful staff. The waitress we had was so good to our 4 and a half year old boy. She was so nice and bubbly with him. We've always eaten in foxes and it's going to be a regular occurance for us now. Keep up the great work guys...well done

18/01/2025: I wouldn’t be going in a hurry. We were presented with it would be 30/40 minutes wait which we agreed to and waited at the bar for 10 minutes when we then were shown to our table we then sat and waited 50 minutes just to order we had already asked 2 waitresses can we order and one addressed to us that there were 6 tables in front of us then another waitress came over to tell us it was 3 tables in front of us a table that was seated after us had given there order followed by ours and then 45 minutes later we were presented with our food. My partner ordered a medium to well which came out as medium to rare! We addressed this to a waitress but during this whole process we asked for another 2 drinks which we waited then 20 minutes for. The service and staff haven’t a clue what they are doing and we’re clueless on why we were making complaints . I am absolutely appalled by the service and will definitely not be returning!

23/12/2024: I went in here for food with my husband a week ago. The staff were great especially the bar guy. The food was really good and the Christmas atmosphere was really lovely. If I'm back in the area I will be sure to eat here again. Would definitely recommend without hesitation.
