04/03/2025: Very small portions for high prices. Shrinkflation siuation here. Not happy. They use small plates to lesson quantity. Unfair.

22/01/2025: Had lunch here today. Average lunch price is €17. The fish pie was basically a tiny piece of cod in a dish covered with breadcrumbs and was tasteless. My companion had the beef. The veg and potatoes are put on the plate very sparingly, portions very small. Lunch here is not worth the money.

08/03/2025: Went with family for dinner last night. The food was excellent from starters to deserts the portions were very generous. The atmosphere was great in the lovely open space. From booking to leaving the staff were wonderful with all 11 of us agreeing it would be hard to beat. Thanks for a fantastic evening.

08/02/2025: This is our go to as locals. The food is always top quality and the portion sizes are such great value for money. Have been at least 3 times within the last couple of months and collectively had a handful of things from the menu and cannot fault any of it. We also appreciate the fact that you can get any of the mains as half portions, because then my daughter can get anything she wants from the main/specials menu without being limited to the usual "kids meals". The only small thing would be that there are no roast potatoes on the roasts, but that doesn't stop us from coming back. We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere too. Overall very happy customers and will continue going back.

23/04/2024: This is a lovely hotel we stayed last Saturday night it was extremely busy 3 functions going on which we didn't mind. But they did not give us the hotel room which I booked but rather put us in a log cabin on arrival we were informed we got a upgrade which to honest wasn't in our opinion the bed was a very small double and typical of Ireland badly finished no point having sink tables chairs and kettle if u have no fridge or microwave. This was OK for us wecwere only staying overnight but we booked a table for 2 on arrival for 7.30 but it wasn't kept so we ended up eating very late near to 9 o clock. It was a lovely meal in fairness but overall we felt a bit cheated surely they should ring u if they don't have the room u booked and then when leaving I got told the bill was 222 euros great I said but it wasn't there was 254 euros taken from account they added on tax of 23% and 13.5% should have been said. As a result I would nt come back shame.

31/05/2025: Dispensable! The best thing about the restaurant is the interior. We had mussels in a white wine sauce twice, and until today I didn't realize how bad it could be. The mussels were dry, lukewarm, and came in a blob of sauce. They tasted as if they had been cooked for a while and then added to the plate with the sauce. There was more than enough garlic baguette, but for €18.50, they would have liked a few more mussels (with flavor!). The water with fresh lemon that was served to clean our hands was still warmer than the mussels, even after we'd eaten. Unfortunately, a disappointment for an easy-to-prepare dish.

10/04/2025: Great food, in a beautiful location and served by friendly people. I recommend the burger. Real local Irish beef. Reasonable prices.

17/04/2025: Como Caseys Hotel estaba cerrado, llamé al Lough Avoul Inn con mi madre y dos niños para almorzar. El propietario parecía acogedor cuando llegamos, pero el ambiente extraño se hizo claro una vez que nos habíamos sentado. Mi madre y yo comimos curry vegetariano - agradable pero las porciones eran pequeñas. Mi tetera sabía peculiar, pero todo lo demás estaba bien. El propietario se sentó en el bar entrometiéndose en la conversación de los clientes, pero afortunadamente no la nuestra, que fue un alivio. La peor parte de la experiencia sin embargo fue cuando fui al bar a pagar. La propietaria estaba muy emocionada de que quisiera usar una tarjeta - si esto hubiera sido debido a la creencia en pagar con efectivo en lugar de tarjeta, me habría parecido bien, pero fue porque tendría que caminar hasta la máquina de tarjetas en la habitación de al lado y su espalda ya estaba jugando ese día, como me dijo irritablemente. Su manera era hostil y era obvio que querían que nos fuéramos lo antes posible. Nunca volverá. Sentí pena por los otros dos miembros del personal que parecían deprimidos.

14/03/2025: Esta es posiblemente la peor experiencia gastronómica que he tenido en mis 60 años en esta tierra. El hombre y la mujer en este lugar deben tener prohibido servir al público. Invadieron nuestro espacio personal en numerosas ocasiones, transmitieron sus opiniones políticas personales sobre nosotros y otros que estaban allí. Eran dominantes, ruidosos y odiosos. Si estuviera hambriento y jadeando preferiría morir que visitara este lugar de nuevo. John

26/10/2024: Se le pidió que esperara fuera en asientos abiertos son, aunque estaba cubierto. La jefa sentó a dos nuevos clientes en dos mesas, ante mí. No hay cura médica para la codicia de esta mujer. Absolutamente terrible servicio al cliente.

27/09/2024: Ni siquiera entramos en la puerta, nos despidieron de inmediato con un miembro del personal que estaba tomando un pedido de un cliente con "No tengo nada" al menos dejamos que cerráramos la puerta incluso el otro cliente se sorprendió por su comentario despectivo, esta mujer necesita algunas lecciones de atención al cliente o entrenamiento, huelga decir que no volveremos y aconsejaría a la gente que se mantenga alejada con ese tipo de actitud francamente descuidada y grosera
