14/06/2025: Definitely a typical and populated pub. Packed with people (reservations recommended). Excellent quality food and lots of variety. Maybe not much for vegetarians (some oriental dishes). Excellent beers!

27/04/2025: My wife and I took my parents to Balrothery Inn today for dinner , the staff were excellent and when they saw my Father was elderly and slow on his feet they accommodated us with a suitable table for easy access, the staff were lovely and polite and attentive considering they were flat out busy , the food was excellent we all cleared our plates , I was watching the staff being so attentive with other senior citizens and people in wheel chairs credit to them all , a special thank you to Aaron Gough and the ladies that attended to us , I will definitely be back soon , thank you all so much

04/05/2025: Dining at Seabank Bistro in Malahide was an absolute delight from start to finish. Tucked away in one of Ireland’s most charming coastal towns, this bistro is a true hidden gem for seafood lovers. The menu celebrates the ocean in the most tasteful way — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I tried the prawns to start . For the main course, the lobster and chef’s linguine with seafood , and beautifully complemented by a medley of seasonal vegetables and a light lemon butter sauce. What truly sets Seabank apart is the atmosphere. With cozy interiors, soft lighting, and a view of the harbour, it’s the ideal setting for both a romantic evening and a relaxed gathering with friends. The staff were exceptional — knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about the food and service. Seabank Bistro doesn’t just serve seafood — it serves memories. A must-visit if you’re in Malahide or anywhere nearby.

04/05/2025: Being on the coast there are not many places to eat good fish. We chose this one because the posts had photos of fish. Well, without further ado, for me monkfish doesn't need that much sauce... it came, as I saw in the photo, "loaded" with sauce... when for a good monkfish, a grill and a little sauce on the side for the customer to manage as they see fit is more than enough.

11/06/2025: Typical Irish pub. It is located in a small street in the small center of the town where there are also other places. We ordered fish and chips and a brunch/breakfast dish: good and honest dishes. Orders must be placed at the counter otherwise they do not come to the table to take it (but it is also written on the menu). We went for lunch on a weekday. Nice atmosphere.

13/06/2025: Food and atmosphere is great. Manager is a total jerk. Don't be a minute late for your reservation. Also, if you use an international booking service, they won't honor it.

10/05/2025: A restaurant more than a pub. Big and spacious. We were there on Easter Sunday, and while busy, we didn't need a reservation.

03/05/2025: If I could give the food less than 1 star I would. The worst food I’ve ever been served in my life. I got the roast of the day with ham, the ham was almost grey and was super dry and tasteless. The veg and roast potatoes were clearly frozen too. The stuffing also tasteless and even by looking at it you could see there wasn’t any herbs in it. Nothing at all on my plate was made fresh. My partner got the Tex mex burger and onion rings. Onion rings tasted of pure oil, and the burger that was meant to have chili beef mince on it wasn’t chili beef at all, it was tomato bolognese. Chips were fine but you can’t go too wrong with them. Bill came to 50 euro with two drinks, definitely not worth it, would never eat here again. Service and staff were lovely though.

17/06/2025: 2025 Update It’s been some time since my last visit, and I’m delighted to report that this hotel remains as outstanding as ever. The staff are exceptionally well-trained, friendly, and always eager to help, making the entire experience truly enjoyable. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and while the rooms are compact, there’s ample storage for clothes and luggage, so space is never an issue. The food continues to impress, offering excellent quality and variety. Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for more. The hotel sits right next to the beach, perfect for long walks or a morning run if that’s your thing. Plus, it’s only a short drive along the scenic coast road to Malahide, where you’ll find fantastic bars and restaurants. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a memorable experience by the sea.

16/06/2025: We went to the Portmarnock resort for a half day spa visit. The entrance of the hotel, foyer and grounds are kept very well. Decor is fresh and modern throughout the areas we visited. The spa, main reception, reception level restaurant. Staff are attentive and friendly. The spa probably needs a little more attention, training and staff. As the reception isn’t manned while treatments are going on a s treatments seemed to be over lapping. Also one of the treatments I booked the therapist wasn’t trained in so had to offer an alternative. This was very disappointing as it’s the reason why we traveling an hour and 15 mins to the spa. Plus the post treatment treat of sorbet or fruit wasn’t offered. We had lunch in The Seaview. Nice menu. Good food options and tasty bites were received. Could do with a little more attention to detail below the table line, the floor could have done with cleaning ant crumbs or food that was dropped was being missed not too much so don’t be put off and above the table line well kept and maintained. Lovely views and decor so actually your eyes will not be drawn to the floor. Over all a very pleasant and enjoyable experience so we would return.

19/12/2024: We had our Christmas party for the 3rd time there! Food was good as always, but the music wasn't as good as previous years, and one of the bartenders had a bit of an attitude at some point! Overall it was a good experience, and we are looking forward to finding out what's coming next year! P.S.: Ruaidhri was there for us every year for our Christmas parties, making sure that we are having the best experience, so we do hope that we will see him there again in the new wrights adventure!
