05/06/2026: I had the chowder and loved it, it was creamy and full of flavour. My friend had the beef ragu pasta and we didn't expect an Italian dish to be this good in a small Irish restaurant (respectfully 🙈😂) Staff was kind and restaurant was nice, pleasant and quiet.

18/04/2026: A great place to go for a meal. A warm welcome from the staff as we went in and fantastic service throughout. The food was delicious, both the Chicken Supreme and the Classic Burger were cooked to perfection. Being diabetic the indulgent tasty desserts needed quite a bit of exercise afterwards! We are looking forward to going again when return to Ireland on our next trip.

19/05/2026: A good reminder that the rankings of hotels are based on facilities available, not actual quality or service. Both (both!!) pram lifts were out of order making navigating the hotel with a pram very difficult. Staff did not help with luggage or baby pram. There is no dedicated greeter for breakfast so everybody who comes down just waits aimlessly until somebody notices them Every so often you'll notice chipped paint, worn carpet, stained cutlery or other signs of low maintenance. (€260 per night by the way). The shower is a cramped prefabricated plastic installation. Portmarnock hotel is one that survives on the reputation of the golf course, but outside of that legacy there is much better value and better luxury guest experiences you can get for your money in Ireland, and in Dublin.

17/04/2026: First stayed here 8 years ago and have since settled in the area. A quality establishment and a location you can't beat. The beach is my happy place.

15/05/2026: One of the nicest pubs I've seen in Ireland. They have a wide variety of beers (we love Beamish). Delicious steaks and burgers, daily specials. Great decor. Friendly service. Large place with plenty of seating. We were there on a Monday afternoon.

15/05/2026: My husband and i ate dinner here last night. Fantastic pub energy. We ordered the steak, guiness beef pie and the wings. The wings were spectacular. Loved everythjng. Parking was a bit lacking for such a tight busy area.

28/05/2026: Wonderful place to enjoy an evening meal. Our waitress Emily gave us such good service and even asked the chef what kind of sauce we had with our duck. She offered to order us a bottle but we did not have the time. So instead she poured some sauce on a waterbottle and gave to us free of charge. Would not even accept a tip for this wonderful gesture. "This is how we do it up here" she said. The food was very good and you sertanly get your money worth. Would absolutely recommend all of my friends and family to go here.

31/05/2026: From the outside it is a bit dated but that's its charm the food is honest and value for money. Staff are no nonsense efficient but equally nice and friendly. Look its old school not a place for foodies who think they know food but don't. For breakfast I had an omelette with mushrooms tomatoes & onions and as much coffee as I could consume loved it. The omelette was to perfection. Go on give the Donkey Shed a miss for once and stop being pretentious for one day and give the Brock a go it ain't as bad as you may think. My dog Teddy would love it too.

09/06/2026: Came by around 7pm, they told us the table has to be returned by 8.20pm we said no problem! I wanted to get the mussels but saw that it wasn’t available, so ordered the clams instead and it was amazing. Had cod and chicken for mains and they were delicious as well. Overall a really great experience until the bill came, we paid for it, and when we were ready to leave, the waiter (who served us in the beginning and once in the middle) said unkindly “is there anything wrong” we said “no, it’s all good!” Then he said “the service charge is not included” and walked away. As we leave, said Thank you to him and he ignored us. Well, if the service charge is an expectation, please feel free to add it in the bill next time instead of making it optional. And we do prefer a much upfront cost, than a variable that takes up “thinking power”. Because optional comes with the risk factor of how the person is feeling that day, whether the waiter went above and beyond, were there anything that particularly stood out. We left feeling guilty, when we’d have wanted to leave happily saying bye to a great restaurant and looking forward to recommend it. Anyway, I loved the food, just not sure if we got the right waiter that would brought the best out of us.

03/06/2026: Had a really great meal in Old Street at the weekend. Fantastic staff, great fresh produce beautifully cooked and presented. We were looked after by an incredibly nice guy. So friendly and attentive. Best restaurant experience we have had in quite some time.

19/05/2026: Cool place to grab an ale, a Guinness, or whatever your poison is. Sat at a table where the table was a hollow barrel, leading down into what looked like a hundreds of years old creepy tunnel. 7 years later stopped on fir lunch and got an absolute MASSIVE hunk of fish for my fish and chips, which was quite good.

29/03/2026: Came here with a friend and our kids. Some of the staff was hostile and unfriendly, gave us a table and then said the table has to be back soon if we are just having drinks. After complaining, was told that the new policy is 30 mins for drinks and 1 hour if you're having food. Absolute disgrace, very unwelcoming especially when you're out for a cuppa with your mammy friends and little kids. It'll be one thing if we were finished drinking our coffees but my friend was still drinking hers and the waiter came over and said he needs the table and he can put her coffee into a takeaway cup, considering there was lots of empty tables it was a joke. Even the tables next to us were shocked by the fact we were asked to leave while only coming in, and told us to just stay and not worry about what was said. Unfortunately we were just so disappointed, at that stage just wanted to leave. Awful service! Editing after owner reply: Male waiter knows exactly what incident this was. Please look at cameras on that day, and see that the issue was raised on the way out the front door to the male waiter (think he is the supervisor) in the cafe and he clearly said it is the restaurant policy to have 30 mins for coffees and 1 hour for food, and didn't apologise, just said if we want we can make a complaint to the owner. A bit late when we were already told to leave and also had a small baby with us, very inconvenient and horrible situation to be in. I wouldn't mind if the coffees were actually drank but when the waiter tells you to put it into a takeaway cup and go it's a different story. Only the man next to us said to stay and drink them (he was a customer) we would have left earlier.

23/04/2026: Fabulous food. Really enjoyed it. Got the warm goats cheese salad and a portion of really nice chips. My friends got the special of the day, the vegetarian option- ravioli with garlic bread. Delicious! Waitress was really friendly, service was prompt.

23/05/2026: Great food and great location. Had the wings and they were fantastic. Service was really smooth and quick without being rushed, a nice change from some places

10/05/2026: Vegan salad was good a little spice or some Tofu for protein would have elevated it. Sticky toffee sauce was delicious but the pudding had a burnt after taste which ruined a great dessert.

02/06/2026: I’ve been to this restaurant several times and every experience has been amazing. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the service truly stands out. I especially want to mention Dayane, who has consistently provided exceptional customer service every time we visited. Even on occasions when she wasn’t directly serving our table, she still came by to check if everything was okay and if we needed anything. She is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated and welcoming. Thank you, Dayane, for always making us feel so well taken care of. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

22/03/2026: Gorgeous food, seem to have a new menu now and it was amazing. Got the chicken pot pie and the roast dinner, sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding and it was all amazing. Probably the nicest bread and butter pudding I've had. Staff are lovely too.
