11/09/2025: The food here was excellent. The cauliflower wings are fantastic. I had the bang bang chicken which was nice. The salad was full of flavor.It was quite busy but we we got a table fairly quickly. The only down side is that the queue of people waiting to get a seat were hold the door open making it a bit drafty. Other than that it was a really good hearty meal.

09/09/2025: Had an absolutely amazing vegan breakfast here! Over the moon to find this place while visiting the area. Really lovely staff too.

14/09/2025: We were here on September 13th having spent the day in Navan and Kells for various activities. We ordered off the early bird menu. Despite the restaurant being busy our waitress was very kind and attentive particularly as we had members at the table with allergies. I myself have lactose intolerance and when I explained that and ordered from the allergen specific menu she was very patient and sweet and made specific note that I was having the dairy free version of my two dishes despite the fact they were listed on the menu as dairy free already. I really appreciate this as it reduces the risk of cross contamination in the kitchen. Apart from a slight wobble to the table and it being a little loud as it was a busy Saturday it was a wonderful experience. 😊

11/09/2025: For our anniversary, my boyfriend reserved a table here and we specifically wanted to do the early birds because it’s usually quiet at that time. The staff were lovely and patient with us. The food was amazing and so were the desserts. The drinks were an absolute pleasure and after dinner, we got this lovely designed plate. It was a very special evening and I had a wonderful time.

04/08/2025: We stopped into The Gate Restaurant in Navan as a family of four and were absolutely delighted with the experience. From start to finish, everything was spot on. We had two fresh scones to start, warm, buttery and just the right amount of crumbly. The full Irish breakfast was perfectly cooked and piping hot, the club sandwich was packed with flavour, and the fish and chips were fresh and flaky with a lovely crispy batter. The service was brilliant, friendly, quick and welcoming and the menu had loads of great options for everyone, which is no small thing when you're feeding a family! Plenty of choice, whether you're after a light bite or something more hearty. Coffee was also very good, rich, smooth and served nice and hot. We’ll definitely be back. A gem of a spot in Navan.

04/08/2025: The Gate is hands down my go-to spot whenever I’m in Navan. It’s the only place I trust for proper, freshly made food that hits the spot every time. The homemade soups are absolutely delicious, full of flavour and clearly made from scratch. I had the chicken Caesar salad on my last visit and it was perfect: crisp lettuce, juicy chicken, and the dressing was just right. Their wraps are always fresh and generously filled, you can really taste the quality. The service is super friendly and welcoming, which makes all the difference. You feel looked after from the moment you walk in. Whether you are popping in for a quick bite or sitting down for a relaxed lunch, The Gate always delivers. Can’t recommend it enough!
