Sunshine Cafe

Dublin
18/01/2025: Great café, great food 🥘 full marks!
13/01/2025: Went in here and sat down. Ordered food. The staff were friendly. However when we sat I noticed our "disposable" table clothe was absolutely filthy. Like it had been used several times. It was like when a white wall starts to go black from grubbyness and need of a wash. The cutlery was sitting in this dirty covering. I noticed all the tables had unchanged dirty disposable paper coverings. The more we sat and looked around the dirty floor became apparent. And a general uncleaned feeling. Then my niece picked up cutlery to find the napkin and table cloth underneath both had blood on them. We immediately cancelled our order and left. If the dining area for customers is so dirty what must the unseen kitchen have been like. I felt like I was in an episode of Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares. Shame. Why have disgusting dirty covers. Why not just have the plan table tops. Easy to wipe and clean. Disposable means change after every customer.

La Dolce Vita

Dublin
03/01/2025: The best Risotto I've had so far, by far the one in Rome (in restaurants searched by reviews). It is a location ticked off the list of gastronomic destinations. All respect for the chef, staff, but also for the owner.
10/12/2024: Love the place and the people there ! ❤️ And the DELICIOUS food of course 😍

NoLIta

Dublin
07/01/2025: Place looks nice, food doesn’t taste good and service is even worse :(
07/01/2025: Third time my review has been deleted💀😂Came here for the nye party and was absolutely appalled by the attitude from the general manger Stephen. Tickets were sold for that night at €25 which included your entry and a “cocktail” on arrival. Went up to the bar to order a drink and was told by the bartender that it was only vodka and splash available. I had enquired about this with the manager as the advertisement was misleading and I was met with the rudest condescending attitude I have ever seen.He had told me that it says on the booking that vodka and splash is what you get , which it did not, he had also asked me “well what’s a cocktail then” I had said a mixture of drinks to which he replied “yeah that’s a mixture of drinks” and practically laughed in my face. A vodka and splash is not a cocktail whether it’s a “mixture of drinks” or not. Misleading advertisement of this event and many others were not happy when they also found out that you can’t get anything other than vodka with your token. Horrible behaviour from this man, I used to love coming here and always recommended it but I will never return if that’s the treatment you get when you have a problem.

Pandini's

Dublin
19/12/2024: Very enjoyable dining experience!
08/12/2024: Absolutely terrible experience. The front of house staff was rude and should learn how to smile and greet customers. The food was awful, eggs burnt toast cold and soggy. And overpriced. Wouldn’t be returning again.

Pinocchio

Dublin
04/01/2025: Excellent pizza, very fast and attentive service; a special mention to Ismael who looked after our table. We will be back to taste the cuisine too.
04/01/2025: Disappointment. I went there because of good reviews… I don’t understand where they came from. Food below average, definitely not the food you expect based on the prices. We ordered focaccia, arancini, spaghetti alla carbonara and chicken in a creamy sauce. Paid 64 quid. Focaccia was just okay. At first waitress served our food to the other table, she brought them back to the kitchen to finally serve them to us. My carbonara was only warm, had a strange color, smell and taste - like cheap processed cheese, not the quality you associate with proper Italian cuisines. I will never go back. If you’re in the area, go to Sano for very good, quality pizza instead.

13/01/2025: Got the carbonara and it was absolutely gorgeous. The pancetta was so perfectly salty and crispy
08/01/2025: Cozy patio with decent food—just what we needed for a quick bite before heading out on our tour. It worked perfectly for the occasion!

Osteria 99

Dublin
25/12/2024: Came here for Christmas Eve. It was properly the worst meal I have had in my life. The food was clearly frozen and re heated, absolutely nothing was fresh. We had a mixture of differnt plates the ravioli had no taste to it what so ever. The veal was a tiny slither of veal and batter and came with what we described it as spaghetti hoops, we also had the seafood paella it was clearly frozen. There was 6 of us and we all left after our mains because the food was that bad. I was so disappointed as I have heard great things about here but it was awful. The wine was lovely and the staff were fantastic and the service was great but the food was absolutely disgusting.
07/11/2024: Starter salad was lovely and fresh and presentation lovely. My pasta was disappointing and I didn't think it was actually fresh pasta as the waiter said. My friend had fish that was a bit bland and some of the veg seemed from frozen or were soggy and overcooked. Waiter was very nice and attentive. Venue is nice and plenty of room for larger groups.

DiFontaine's Pizzeria

Dublin
08/01/2025: I had an abhorrent experience at Di Fontaine's on Saturday night. Upon inquiring about the distinction between two olive pizzas, a staff member dismissed my query entirely, opting instead to serve me a slice of olive and ham pizza without providing any elucidation. He then brusquely turned his attention to another customer, leaving my question unanswered. When the slice was prepared, he bellowed loudly to hand it over, a gesture that was both superfluous and discourteous. The individual in question, who appeared to be of Indian descent and adorned a gold chain, exhibited conduct that was profoundly unprofessional and exuded an air of disregard, making me feel decidedly unwelcome. While I acknowledge that Saturday nights are often frenetic, such circumstances do not exonerate egregiously substandard service. Waiting in line for 3-4 minutes is entirely reasonable, yet the uncivil demeanor of this staff member irrevocably marred my perception of Di Fontaine's. Despite its reputed acclaim, this disheartening encounter has ensured I will not return
06/01/2025: Drier Than the Sahara This pizza was so dry, I felt like I was eating sandpaper baked in an oven. The crust? An arid wasteland devoid of any flavor or moisture. It crumbled into a pile of dust with every bite, leaving me wondering if I’d accidentally ordered a pizza or a piece of stale bread from the Stone Age. The sauce—if it even existed—was so sparse that I had to squint to find it. What little there was had the consistency of dried paint and contributed absolutely nothing to the experience. Italians are famous for their rich, vibrant sauces, but this? It was as if someone waved a tomato near the pizza and then called it a day. The cheese was so dry and stiff, it felt like chewing on aged rubber. It didn’t melt, it didn’t stretch, and it certainly didn’t taste good. And the toppings were no better—dried-out vegetables and leathery pieces of meat that made me question every life choice leading to this meal. This wasn’t pizza. It was a dehydrated relic better suited for a survival kit than a dinner plate. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. 1/10. Never again. It would be better to order from pizza hut or dominos. Worst of worst pizza in the world🍕

31/12/2024: My favourite pizza in Dublin. Carlo is a genius. Would absolutely recommend ringing to make sure they're open - predicting this is sort of half the fun - but if they are open, go.

Dublin
30/12/2024: Very good food and very reasonable price wise
30/12/2024: The pizza was really good. I ordered the Pinoli and it was delicious. The cocktails are to be avoided - they are pre-mixed, and not fresh. I ordered the strawberry daiquiri and it was not good.

Monto Cafe

Dublin
01/01/2025: While most other cafes in Dublin took a break today, New Year's Day, the staff at Monto's cafe were working really hard! First time here and I was extremely impressed with the service, food and atmosphere. A very tasty breakfast at a price im pretty sure you won't get anywhere in Dublin! 10e for a Breakfast including toast AND a coffee/tea. I'm definitely going to pop back again for lunch or dinner. Thanks to the extremely efficient and friendly staff for getting our year off to a good start 😊👍
14/12/2024: Fantastic, kind, efficient service. When not sure about ingredients or accommodations, they are very kind and accommodating and ask other staff for clarification. Fantastix value and great portion sizes. All servers are so lovely and we felt so welcome: thank you Kasha, Emma, Rozsa.ismail, Muhammed. You are the best! There are gluten free options. The atmosphere and decor is cosy and inviting, without feeling crowded. We loved it, we will be back!

Zero Zero

Dublin
13/01/2025: Lovely cosy spot with great pizza
12/01/2025: Oh, Zero Zero, ode to Napoli’s soul! Thy crust, kissed by fire, soft yet bold, A tender embrace of smoke and air, A dance of tradition, beyond compare! Upon this canvas, the San Marzano sings, A melody of tomatoes, fresh as spring. Mozzarella di bufala, so pure, so sweet, A heavenly duet with thy dough’s gentle heat. Ah, the Neapolitan spirit lives in thee! Thy pizzas are not mere dishes, But arias of flavor, artful and free. The burrata whispers secrets of the Italian sun, Each bite a triumph, perfection begun. Zero Zero, thou art Napoli’s flame, In every bite, the city’s name! Bravi! Bravissimi! A standing ovation, For this timeless, Neapolitan creation!
