Honestly I’m sorry but that was the worst breakfast I’ve ever ever had ! Actually the worst food I’ve ever eaten!
The staff were nice and friendly but lads you seriously need to stop and go look at what other places are serving ! Plate was covered in grease. The taste of grease on all the food was overwhelming.
17/03/2025: The coffee and the desserts were marvelous. The desserts were so fresh and tasty. The young girl of the shop was so helping. All reasonable price. Got car parking in front.

16/10/2025: Wedding Venue of our dreams!!
Wow! I can’t recommend the Avalon highly enough! Laura is a phenomenal wedding organiser who listens to your vision and brings it to life! She feels like a friend straight away who is fully invested in the day! Peter and Laura then make sure the day runs perfectly, remaining calm and positive throughout! The Avalon is the perfect place for a private wedding where you are the priority for the whole hotel! They could not have been more supportive! I can’t thank them enough for the most perfect day! All of our guests loved it commenting on the gorgeous food, friendly staff and homely rooms!
07/10/2025: Good overnight accommodation near Kilkenny. Parking was free. The bathroom cleanliness could be improved.
Special thanks to the two lovely young ladies at breakfast.
I can recommend the hotel.

Yew Restaurant
29/09/2023: I am reviewing breakfast only. A beautifully decorated restaurant. It offers a full spread of Irish breakfast, including 2 types of puddings. Very good.

Brownstone Pizza

07/06/2025: Where in Kilkenny for a day Trip, stumbled upon this lovely little Pizza stand and fell in Love with their thin, crispy and magnificent piece of dough!
Can absolutely recommend when you are around.
