The best restaurants in Portlaoise

23/10/2024: There was a birthday party going on however the service was still great and fast. I had the Grant's Burger & my partner had chicken goujons and chips. My burger was 10/10. Goujons were nice as well. The server was nice and checked in on us a few times. The music wasn't too loud and the atmosphere was nice. I wish I'd taken a picture of my burger but I forgot. Anyways, I will definitely come back again the next time I'm near Laois.

19/10/2024: Lovely Breakfast here in The Pantry, Portlaoise. 6 of us , got a table no problem out in the Rear in the garden room. Food, Great, missed a lovely Sausage, not on this Menus. I had maple bacon and eggs ( scrambled ) which was delicious and the home made brown bread ( not toasted by choice ).

30/09/2024: Excellent Service and Ambience and their walled garden is an oasis for the towns Cafe Society.

17/10/2024: had the fillet steak. OMG.. and dessert. apple pie and custard. OMG . highly recommend it. a lovely treat .

12/10/2024: Food was excellent great taste and quality. Found it a bit noisy some back round music just to warm up atmosphere. Service was very good. Highly recommend and will be visiting again.

07/09/2024: 10/10 pizza and 10/10 service. My partner and I called in on a busy Saturday night and the team accommodated us, making us aware they needed the table back in 45 min which was more than enough time for us to enjoy our delicious pizza. The restaurant has a great vibe too!

23/10/2024: I went for Brew Cafe's breakfast, and it was delicious, freshly made poached egg with avocados and sour dough bread. It was really tasty, and I would recommend a visit when in Portlaoise.

19/10/2024: This cafe is by far leagues above anything else in Portlaoise. The food is always spot on with amazing flavours and the staff always have a smile. Been several times now and can confidently say this is my go to for a nice treat for breakfast or lunch. You just HAVE to try the pancakes.

27/10/2024: Ruchi in portlaoise was recommended by my sister's and it really lived up to the recommendation. The staff, setting and food was excellent. Falal our waiter was really attentive and friendly. The food was really of a very high standard. The decor was very sophisticated and comfortable

Shocked to see the price increase (but understandable) same meal less than a year ago cost us €20 less 🙈 madness.. The girls had enough to deal with fussy customer but kept smiling 👍🏻

30/06/2024: I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming burger joint located on the first floor of the city center in Portlaoise. After reading some promising reviews, I decided to give it a try, and I was not disappointed. The ambience of the restaurant is incredibly cozy, with dim lighting that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's a perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family. I ordered the crispy chilli chicken tenders, a honey buffalo chicken burger, and a kids' meal. The chicken tenders were a standout, with impeccable flavor, spices, and crispiness that made every bite a delight. The honey buffalo chicken burger, while cooked to perfection, was slightly underwhelming in terms of fillings, but still enjoyable. Both the potato fries and sweet potato fries were excellently cooked, perfectly crispy, and paired wonderfully with the accompanying sauces. The staff at the restaurant were exceptionally kind and approachable, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. If you ever find yourself in Portlaoise and are in the mood for some tasty, crispy chicken, I highly recommend this place. It's definitely worth a visit for the chicken tenders alone!

20/08/2024: Had the harissa and tex mex sambos with two coffee. Sandwiches were nice, coffee was good enough. Sandwiches could do with a little bit longer in the press to improve appearance, texture and hold. Seating area now very comfortable. Would recommend as a decent spot in Portlaoise.

30/07/2024: Was recommended this place & I’m glad I went. Lovely, chatty staff and the drinks are reasonably priced & flavourful for the price. 10/10, I recommend.
