12/09/2025: amazing bar and mark the bouncer is a lovely guy

02/07/2025: Usually have a great time in Square bar and always a top spot to go to but last night(28th June) the bouncer was being in the nicest way possible a complete fool. He said I had tracksuit bottoms on when they were clearly jeans and couldn't let me get a single word in and told me to "buzz off" and go another direction, was calling my friends inside then to tell them I wasn’t let in and then while I was on call he was proceeding to let lads in with cargos on and it just seemed like he had a personal vendetta against me for no reason. After I ended my call he then said “ok from a distance it looked like you had tracksuit bottoms on but there’s no need to be cheeky” dunno how that’s possible when he didn’t even let me speak but alright.

08/09/2025: Absolutely love this place! Vibe is warm & welcoming. The coffee is unreal, you can really taste the quality. Açai bowls are lovely, super fresh, generous portion & beautifully presented.

02/09/2025: I used to visit Peters cafe everyday but now I cannot visit it that much for some reason but I would say the best coffee in ireland Peter he is a good fella he always greet you with a smile 😃 Acai bowl gorgeous The best thing after coffee in coffee fuel is their chocolate peanut butter

20/09/2025: Just went in for a quick milkshake only and I wanted a large and they gave me a normal cup size and charged large size, wanted chocolate and they didn't have it in stock only had in strawberry and vanilla and they were a little bit rude aswell very quick sharpe answer.

16/09/2025: Went to supermacs with my wife and kids, order food for all family kids were very happy,but finally we had to leave without food,cos after almost one hour waiting for our order we decided to cancel our order and just left. Went with kids to the McDonald's. At supermacs was busy, but not as much as usual. And when I came to the till to ask where's our food the answer was ohh sorry we forgot to make yours one,but 4 people standing there doing nothing just talking and laughing instead of focus for service and make customers satisfied. It was very unprofessional and very sad not because of myself, but because of my kid's. So my decision?never again to the supermacs at all. Regards.

22/09/2025: My kids and I attended a birthday party here yesterday. It's a class venue. We have been going periodically to the enormous multi-level play zone for years. They are now (getting) old enough for roller disco and laser tag. Both were tremendous fun. In particular the laser tag let the adults participate and it was so much fun. I've dropped a star simply because it's tricky enough to find in Portlaoise - Google Maps is more or less a must for me to find it (and to get out of it), even though we've been multiple times and I'm pretty good at navigating. That said, the staff are great, the facilities are top notch and it seems reasonably priced. If you have kids and can find it I'd highly recommend.

07/10/2025: Had a horrible experience was looking to get a quick bite to eat with my partner went to use the drive thru and found it very confusing and just to make things worse ended up getting a €120 fine by the Gards plus 2 penalty points wouldn't recommend the place for disabled drivers!!

15/07/2025: I use this cafe a lot as it’s my grandson’s favourite in Portlaoise. But I have to ask, why can’t the toilets be kept clean? They are always in a really bad state, toilet paper all over the floor and puddles, of hopefully is tap water. It’s a shame as otherwise it’s a nice place.

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, the value for money here is very disappointing. Membership fees are higher than in Switzerland and, based on the local wage index, more than double the relative cost. The opening hours are very limited — there is no real possibility to train before or after work, and at weekends the centre closes already at 16:30. The equipment feels outdated compared to international standards, and staff could benefit from better training and customer service awareness. Overall, the potential of the facility is not being used, which is a pity given the demand in the local community.

24/07/2025: Went recently and I was delighted with the food. It was very quiet as it was a Monday evening and we were eating in the restaurant. Food came out quickly and hot, great portion sizes and it was all super tasty. The beef was soft and the chicken was delicious. The staff were all lovely and the cost was so reasonable. I'm from Dublin and wouldn't get a meal like that for 3 people for less then €100 and it was just under 80. People giving bad reviews of the delivery of 'spice bags' should sit in and have a proper meal. Will defo be back

04/05/2025: The food was amazing. A prefect place for lunch. I hope I can come again soon maybe for dinner. For anyone thinking about having lunch out try Mulhall restaurant.

22/06/2025: Great cinema, super clean. Very friendly staff. Prices are a bit steep but that seems to be common across cinemas now.

28/05/2025: Went yesterday to see "thunderbolts" in screen "5" first thing I notice is the seats are clapped out and nothing underneath you so it's a uncomfortable after a about 20 mins, then there screen not being formatted right ie colour and brightness so your left with a white sheen over the movie like when you turn your setting to full brightness watching a video on your phone, only 2 speakers working out the six so no surround sound plus you hear people talking and using there phones. I left after 20 mins. Staff are the only saving grace polite, kind and friendly. Don't waste your money watch at home or go somewhere decent.
