The best restaurants in Longford

06/12/2025: We absolutely love Jolly Boys- whether it’s sitting inside in winter or in the outback (outside dining) in the summer the food, drinks and service is 10/10. The atmosphere is laid back (great music and interiors) and the staff are so good with the kids; the place is so family friendly with a great menu for everyone, including delicious gluten free options (including GF pizza and chips) 👌🏻👌🏻 They do great beers including local IPAs and an excellent cocktail menu too! Look forward to the next visit already ❤️

18/11/2025: Every year we have been to Center Parcs we have ordered here. But this year we tried to ring in an order and we're told we had to order on-line. Placed the order online and it was the cancelled!

09/09/2025: Brought my family here for dinner today. Me and my daughter asked if we could order shredded chicken from the takeaway menu which was priced at €8.50, with the menu stating this was inclusive of rice and chips. I was charged €26 for the two shredded chicken starters plus €5.60 for two chips. My total bill was over €50. When I queried this the owner said "Sorry, it costs more when it's sit down". She didn't tell us this when we ordered nor was it written on the menu. I run a business and I find it very deceitful when people are not transparent with their pricing. Won't be returning.

19/12/2025: The coffee was cold and we were told rudely that the table was needed and we had to leave while we were drinking our coffee it wasn't the nicest experience which was unfortunate as I was looking forward to visiting this cafe

24/10/2025: Food has vastly improved since I last visited over a year ago. Today I enjoyed delicious pancakes, ham & cheese toasted sandwich with cappuccino and an orange juice. Quick service, helpful staff and warm, clean surroundings. Free off road parking is a bonus. One star is lost for the seating arrangement. Tables for 4 will only be allocated for a party of 3 or 4. The tables that have 2 chairs are too small and uncomfortable for a couple, but are OK for lone diners. The café has a large floor space which is wasted with huge gaps between tables. Investment in a better floor plan would greatly improve the dining experience for a couple.

22/07/2025: Went for breakfast on Sunday and lady server seemed a bit short with us but think she was just busy. Got a table and food served fairly quick while drinks were slower but worked out fine. Breakfast portions were good and enough seating for different groups. Overall was good but wouldn't rush back unless already on the main street. Open till 19 for evening meals but not yet tried that

30/11/2025: Misleading room & terrible customer service We recently stayed at Longford Arms Hotel and had a very disappointing experience. We booked online and paid €160 for a room that looked spacious and modern in the photos. At reception, they charged us before we even saw the room. When we went up to the room, it was completely different from what was advertised. The room was in terrible condition, the drawer was falling off, the wardrobe was broken, and overall it was absolutely filthy and poorly maintained. It was nothing like the pictures shown online. It felt like false and misleading advertising. We even have pictures to show the huge difference between what was promised and what we got. We immediately went back to reception to complain. Paul told us there was nothing he could do, so we asked him to speak to the manager. The manager, Orla, was equally dismissive. Paul came back and said that they won’t do anything for us. There was no apology, no effort to fix the problem, and no concern for customer service. For €160, this was completely unacceptable. The room condition and customer service were absolutely terrible. We will never return and strongly do not recommend the Longford Arms Hotel to anyone.

30/11/2025: Title: Extremely Disappointed-False Advertising and Poor Experience We had a very disappointing stay at the Longford Arms Hotel. The room we received was far below expectations and completely different from what was shown online. The photos and descriptions on their website are misleading, and what we were given did not match at all. On top of that, we were charged an exorbitant amount for this subpar experience. Overall, we were very unhappy with our stay and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

02/11/2025: OMG what an BAD experience. The food is of a very poor standard indeed. It seems to be pre cooked and lined up to heat in microwave as ordered. We stopped in on a Sunday morning for breakfast which we were told has finished…Disappointed we decided to look at alternative options. We ordered soup and a coffee and scone. The soup came lukewarm and with one mean slice of brown bread which was cut so thinly it fell apart when lifted off the plate. And the coffee which was cold. So we cancelled the second part of our order. As we approached the till to pay before leaving, we could hear shouting in an angry tone. At first we didn’t realise it was being directed at us. And then we realised it was the cook in the kitchen shouting and hurling insults and abuse at us from the kitchen because we had cancelled the second part of our order! We were shocked and appalled by her behaviour and bad manners in front of staff and other customers. What a bad ambassador for any business. I can’t imagine what it must be like to work in an environment like this. The young ladies serving are extremely pleasant and doing their best but I would think it’s not a very pleasant work environment. Only for the fact that there’s nowhere else around for miles I expect this place would be closed long ago….The worst experience I’ve ever had when eating out…the place is cold, the decor desperate …pallets on the ceiling for light holders and cheap timber furnishings…..avoid avoid avoid. The reviews online definitely don’t reflect our experience perhaps it’s the reviews from associates of the cook ???

27/09/2025: Ordered online and arrived 30 mins later to collect as per their own app. When we arrived they hadn't even started making the order and it took another 35 minutes waiting for them to cook the food. Why have have an app to pre order if you don't even bother to make the food until you arrive. Over 1 hour waiting for food to be made in a fast food takeaway This place has really gone down hill over the last few years

01/09/2025: I spent 20min waiting on a half pounder only to go in and your staff member said she gave it away and wanted ro put another one on. Not a chance will I ever go back in their. 0 out of 100.

20/11/2025: Stopped in for a vegetarian breakfast this morning. Best breakfast in town. Very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly. Only issue is the card machine is broken so need to pay in cash, but they told me that when I arrived. Would definitely recommend 👌

10/10/2025: I just had a meal at the Courtyard Café in Longford, and I don't recommend it. I ordered a Chicken and Mushroom Vol-au-Vent with a side of chips, and it was quite disappointing. The food was very crispy but tasteless. I received two Chicken and Mushroom Vol-au-Vents and reheated chips. To make matters worse, the condiments provided were the type you would find on a retail shelf, rather than the more restaurant-specific ramekins. They gave me a retail bottle of tomato sauce and a bottle of malt vinegar, without any condiment holders. The interior looked like it was stuck in the 2000s, and the place was half empty. Additionally, the staff members were passive-aggressive, lacking professionalism. When I went to pay, the card machine was broken, so I had to go down the street to the bank to withdraw money from the ATM. Terrible experience, will not recommend.

29/11/2025: Food is always lovely in Caras but I'm giving a low rating from our last experience there our waiter was really nice and attentive we asked the waiter could we have our childs food chopped up as he has a disability and the knifes weren't good enough on the table to do this he asked the chef and the chef proceeded to give out to him and handed him a rough steak knife for us to do it ourselves I could hear him say this it was no better than the one we had on the table already by the time we had it someway chopped up it was gone cold and our son didn't want to eat it our food was gone Cold too you could see into the kitchen and I could see the chef mouthing off aswell.. Im a chef myself and I didn't think it was a big ask it would have taken them 2 minutes to do in the kitchen very disappointed and also the way the chef spoke to the waiter I told him it wasn't his fault and I could see exactly what the chef said to him this is our fourth time been to centre parcs and eating at Caras it was always our favourite but after this we won't eat there again it wasn't even busy when we asked as we had an early booking so disappointed

12/09/2025: NEVER EVER AGAIN We Ordered €35 of food for collection. The website had my comments for “NO SAUCE” on the kebab because of an allergy of one of my family. Before I left the counter I asked if there was any sauce added. And the arrogant & aggressive cook came out from behind his prep counter and showed me his till receipt that didn’t have “NO SAUCE”. I explained that I entered this info on the online order (which I did twice) and he said “SEE SEE ITS NOT ON HERE!!”. I subsequently asked him not to argue with me as I definitely did enter it. To which he got even more animated and shouted “”ITS NOT ON IT”. I told him to cancel the whole order because of the food allergy and he said “NO I WONT” but he eventually reluctantly went back behind his counter and made a replacement rather than give the refund….. SO YET ANOTHER CUSTOMER LOST - JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.
