The best restaurants in Longford

19/10/2025: Disappointing experience despite high expectations. We’d heard good things about this place, which was why we travelled 40 mins to try but unfortunately our visit was quite poor. It took a long time just to be given menus and even longer before anyone came to take our order and ended up waiting over 50 minutes for our food to arrive. During that time, staff came to our table twice with meals meant for other tables. We also witnessed another mix-up where the wrong dish was served to a different table. It was taken away, then seemed to be brought straight out again to another customer, despite having been touched and inspected by the first table which wasn’t very reassuring. When our food did finally arrive, it was lukewarm and didn’t really match our expectations in taste or appearance or what was described on the menu. The staff themselves were friendly and clearly doing their best, but they were young and inexperienced and there didn’t seem to be anyone supervising or supporting them. I have worked in hospitality myself and understand the struggles therefore I think the main issue seemed to be a lack of management and training rather than the fault of the staff, who looked completely overwhelmed even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. Overall, a disappointing visit that didn’t live up to its reputation.

18/10/2025: Really bad, Staff had no idea what they were doing and seemed so overwhelmed, there is no senior member or manager around. The food took over 1 hour to come and when it did it was wrong twice , first time we asked what the burger was handed to us and waitress gave us a blunt “I don’t know” , next burger was wrong and we informed staff and the waiter just gave it to the next table, fries were wrong then we were questioned if we ordered correctly 🫠 the place is just a mess like really needs staff training or somebody with more experience on duty. Eventually when we did get our cold food it was not great and not worth the hassle and over an hour wait. Such a shame because the menu did look good.

20/08/2025: Lovely food and friendly staff.

22/07/2025: Went for breakfast on Sunday and lady server seemed a bit short with us but think she was just busy. Got a table and food served fairly quick while drinks were slower but worked out fine. Breakfast portions were good and enough seating for different groups. Overall was good but wouldn't rush back unless already on the main street. Open till 19 for evening meals but not yet tried that

06/09/2025: Good coffee but I'm often disappointed by the long wait times for coffee, especially during peak hours around 9 am. With only one barista on duty, it's challenging for them to keep up with demand, leaving customers like me frustrated and rushed. Hopefully, the coffee shop will consider increasing staff numbers to improve service and reduce wait times.

09/08/2025: Takeaway coffee shop serving a fine selection of teas and coffees to the denizens of D8 and beyond. If the weather's good you can sit outside, snack on an almond pastry and do your Wordle. Popular with canines and their owners too which is always a good sign.

23/08/2025: Got a great friendly welcome from the two people on duty, Freya and Enda. Shown to my room, tastefully laid out and really felt homely. I'm extremely fussy about my bed and it was so comfortable. Good shower and tea/ coffee making facilities and a stylish breakfast area. Handy parking, seating area to the front and overall I'm delighted.

26/08/2025: Everytime we bring the kids for a drive through our orders are short when you call the restaurant the staff are unhelpful and ignorant. If you get drive thru check your orders as the food is not cheap. I will not be going back again.

09/09/2025: Brought my family here for dinner today. Me and my daughter asked if we could order shredded chicken from the takeaway menu which was priced at €8.50, with the menu stating this was inclusive of rice and chips. I was charged €26 for the two shredded chicken starters plus €5.60 for two chips. My total bill was over €50. When I queried this the owner said "Sorry, it costs more when it's sit down". She didn't tell us this when we ordered nor was it written on the menu. I run a business and I find it very deceitful when people are not transparent with their pricing. Won't be returning.

27/06/2025: They staff most times give way too much curry in 3 in 1 I mentioned this on about 3 occasions small amount of curry this evening a female staff member in take away took a fence by me saying I want small amount of curry on my 3 in 1 I mentioned too her it's my money and customers money who pay her wages and she is certainly not the boss or business owner just employee I said get me They boss someone I can talk with they female boss came out too me I said look at this 3 in 1 swimming in curry I can't eat that it's no good to me I will go eat somewhere else which I did the staff in Chan Orental poor meet and greet customer service no hospitality they don't understand that the money in customers pocket is there wages the staff feel entitled too dismissed customers it's the owners business not they staff business and loud music overwhelming

10/10/2025: I just had a meal at the Courtyard Café in Longford, and I don't recommend it. I ordered a Chicken and Mushroom Vol-au-Vent with a side of chips, and it was quite disappointing. The food was very crispy but tasteless. I received two Chicken and Mushroom Vol-au-Vents and reheated chips. To make matters worse, the condiments provided were the type you would find on a retail shelf, rather than the more restaurant-specific ramekins. They gave me a retail bottle of tomato sauce and a bottle of malt vinegar, without any condiment holders. The interior looked like it was stuck in the 2000s, and the place was half empty. Additionally, the staff members were passive-aggressive, lacking professionalism. When I went to pay, the card machine was broken, so I had to go down the street to the bank to withdraw money from the ATM. Terrible experience, will not recommend.

13/09/2025: The most dirty restaurant I ever seen. Never again.

11/10/2025: Ordered food for 10 people. Something like e135. Told would deliver at 7:30pm. Didn't arrive. Called, told we gave wrong Eircode. Not true. Then told we were aggressive. Hard to be aggressive when never actually met. Avoid. Food may or may not be sensational but if you pay and don't get food then rating can only be as low as allowed. Thieves

21/09/2025: Duck in plum sauce with Boiled rice was Excellent. Lots of tender Duck and a big tub of super plum sauce served separately. A great idea. Well done.

02/08/2025: Quick, friendly and delicious coffee. I wasn't looking for any food but there was a lovely smell in the cafe and the treat selection looked excellent. I'll definitely be back for cake!! Recommended 😀

31/08/2025: The chicken was hot the wrap was chicken wrap was too sweet , ketchup to sweet , the chicken tasted disgusting , the pizza wasn't nice at all , doesn't give you an option on what chicken you want eng southern fried or plain or spicy it gives you spicy ,

09/09/2025: Service was very, very slow. Took over 45 mins for our food to arrive. They force you to pay 7.5% service charge or you have to ask them to remove it which I despise. Food was fine but nothing amazing. The lad with the guitar was great, he started to get into the swing of it after 20 minutes. Not sure I'd be back.
