27/01/2026: From the minute we walked in and got our table the atmosphere was welcoming. Food was great and service was really good. It was actually a really nice enjoyable lunch hour.

02/03/2026: Lovely place. Pure Italian restaurant with delicious food and lovely owners! If you looking for taste of Italy this is perfect place for it! Highly recommended even for children!

10/02/2026: This place is pretty sugoi. I left feeling quite daijoubu. The atmosphere is very kawaii and nihongo. One thing I would like is more gluten free options onegaishimasu. They only had sashimi without soy sauce which I survived without salmonella but reminded me of the gelatinous glob they eat in saya no uta, dattebayo.

04/01/2026: The Square restaurant is head and shoulders above any restaurant in the North East of Ireland. The menu is unique, many levels above your normal restaurant. The food is simply outstanding and portioned perfectly. The service is first class also. Cannot recommend enough. Costs includes bottle of wine and cocktails.

27/11/2025: I’ve been meaning to try this restaurant for ages after hearing such great things from friends. I finally got the chance last weekend and brought my mum and I can safely say it did not disappoint. The meal was flawless from start to finish. The broccoli side was one of the nicest side dishes I’ve ever had and I’d return for that alone. The little truffles to end the evening were perfect. The staff were super friendly and Conor went around and checked on all the tables which was a lovely personal touch. I’ll definitely be back as there were so many things I wanted to try. Hopefully the spicy margarita will still be on the menu. 10/10

06/03/2026: The chef working the kitchen on the 5th of March seriously needs a lesson in cooking steak. I asked for medium-rare and got very rare—barely cooked. I ate about two-thirds of it before I couldn’t convince myself to keep going, so I got the rest put in a takeaway box for the dogs. Best part being the place itself, it’s very well designed and looks nice My missus got a smash burger which was poorly cooked as well. The food is robbery for the price, and I’m kicking myself today that we even went. Do better, guys—it’s a local restaurant in Blackrock, not a Michelin-star place. The staff are nice, but there’s really no need for the amount of them there. Won’t forget this €93 whole in my wallet

With over 60 guests, everything ran so smoothly and the food was absolutely amazing. I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate. Your service was top-notch, and everyone genuinely loved and enjoyed the food. Thank you so much for making the day so special.

19/02/2026: We recently visited McGeoughs Bar & Restaurant as a group of four, and we all left completely satisfied. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a great balance of lively energy and comfort. The food was excellent across the board, every dish was full of flavour, well presented, and served hot and fresh. It’s always a good sign when everyone at the table is happy with their choice, and that was definitely the case for us. And also the cocktails and drinks were really great. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Service was smooth and efficient, even though the place was busy. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily recommend McGeoughs to anyone looking for great food and an enjoyable dining experience in Dundalk. We’ll definitely be back!

08/12/2025: How does one even begin to summarise Vertigo and how utterly amazing they are! Clive was so easy to deal with, hassle free, contacted me wedding week to finalise all. Arrived in plenty of time, linked in before they started and then the magic happened and didn't stop! Davey was the lead singer (i think he had to stand in last minute) he was absolutely electric, his energy & stamina, he was on that dancefloor keeping everyone on it! Their set was just brilliant something for all and as for the tuuuunes at the end just wow! i found Vertigo on Instagram, had never heard of them or saw them before but something told me to book them and my God am I glad I did. if you are lucky enough that's they're available, do not hesitate - just book them. EVERYONE mentioned how class they were. Lads thank you all so so much, ye made our day!

16/02/2026: We ate here last week and have to say the food was very disappointing. I had the burger which was just ok. My partner had the braised beef which was very dry and looked very unappealing. Atmosphere was very quiet and there were only 2 other tables occupied even though we were there on a Saturday evening. Service was good and friendly so no issues there but I wouldn't recommend unfortunately and we wouldn't return. In response to the owners reply - its disappointing that they chose to be defensive rather than take constructive feedback/criticism on board. Very few people would say that they are not happy with their food at the time. Improving comes from taking feedback on board and learning from it.

03/03/2026: Hello I went to the lisdoo a thousand times even when I was a teenager food is so nice my whole family loves it and my friend really likes it too. Great place for a party or something ice-cream there is lovely more people should come . Why does people give one star I would give five .

15/02/2026: So me and my new wife choose the lisdoo as the place to hold the reception on are wedding day. From the first point of contact to the day of the wedding the staff and management went above and beyond to support are needs guide us with are special requests and anything we needed in between. From the food to the venue everything was prefect. All are guests raved about the excellent 5 star quality of the food to the whole experience and service on the day was unbelievable. Any ideas or things we needed to know about we were informed and kept up to date on everything from times food choices to everything in between the whole day and wedding went off prefect with not one person saying anything other than what a day and evening it was and it was all down to the lisdoo. A very special mention to Matthew and Helen who couldn't have assisted us any better and had the full day and evening extremely well prepared. I would tell anyone who is getting married to consider the lisdoo as there venue of choice you would not be disappointed.

22/02/2026: The worst hotel experience I have ever had! I stayed for 3 nights and I deeply regret choosing this hotel. On Saturday night into Sunday, at 3:00 AM, a party organized in the hotel restaurant finally ended. I thought we would finally be able to sleep. I was wrong. The guests from the party moved into room 3 and continued the celebration with loud music, shouting, and unbearable noise. I was staying in room 5 and it was absolutely impossible to rest. The entire night was completely ruined. I went to the reception and informed the gentleman there about the situation. His shocking response was: “I can’t do anything, they paid for the restaurant.” Seriously? I also paid for 3 nights of accommodation to sleep, not to be forced to participate in other people’s party. At the moment I am writing this review, it is 05:25 AM and the party in room 3 is still going on with no intervention from the hotel staff. This is completely unacceptable! This shows a total lack of respect for guests who come here to rest. If the hotel allows parties until early morning and then lets guests continue in their rooms without any control, this is not a hotel — it’s a nightclub. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone looking for peace and rest. Poor service, indifferent staff, and zero concern for guests’ comfort. An extremely disappointing experience!

21/02/2026: I recently ate in the fairways the place is very comfortable and staff are great but I did not enjoy the pizza it tasted like it was from a box and not the stone able pizza as advertised other then that the place is great !
