20/02/2025: Beautiful Fine Dining in The Thatch, Staff & Management so friendly, polite and efficient. Food was amazing, ambience perfect. The staff went the extra mile to dim lights when dessert was served with candles for birthdays and all sang Happy Birthday. Thanks so much Des & Team. We'll be back

25/02/2025: Got a order, was wrong driver who was very nice said she would bring it back, then a Polish girl rang asking what was wrong with it, I explained it was wrong and she was so ignorant on the phone, so that's me finished with them

16/02/2025: Couldn't speak highly enough of this place. Excellent service, lovely atmosphere and really good food. Highly recommend the coffee. Best coffee I've ever had in Ireland. Reminiscent of something you'd get in Spain or Portugal. The assiette of starters is a great choice if you'd like a little of each. Mains and desserts (we went the whole hog!) all fabulous.

02/02/2025: I ordered myself a Chicken & Beef Fajita that exceeded my expectations. The meat 🍖 was very tender and was cooked to the highest standards. The only issue was the portions size not the biggest for the price you pay.

03/02/2025: Brought my three boys, my niece and my nephew here; aged 8, 6, 5 and 3 - they loved it! My 3 year old twins didn't care that they were too young to access the lego room/area. The staff and owner were lovely, friendly and kid focused. Highly recommend.

16/02/2025: Busy place, little café, they serve nice food, nicely decorated,you can pretty much buy every decoration you see on display. They have freshly made cakes too. We were there lunch time, we sat and there was queu after us. The fishcake with wedges and chicken rice salad were very tasty. Service was quick.

27/02/2025: Popped in today for lunch Food was OK but the disaster was serving it basically on a side plate tiny portions I had a chicken breast with a few chips "as that's all would fit" My husband had bacon a spoon of mash and a spoon of cabbage No drinks involved cost €30 Hence to say will not bd returning

15/02/2025: My wife and I had some wraps for lunch. They were lovely. We did not realise how big they were. If we had known we would not have ordered chips as well. We will definitely be going again.

09/03/2025: Our family had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of Birr Castle as part of the special events for Astronomy Week in Ireland. It was an incredible experience—both inspiring and deeply informative. Seeing the Leviathan and the modern radio telescopes up close was truly impressive, offering a fascinating glimpse into the past and present of astronomical discoveries. As mathematicians and a physicist, we especially appreciated the passion and expertise of our guide, who brought history and science to life with a vivid and engaging narrative. Their enthusiasm and deep knowledge made the experience even more memorable. Birr Castle is a must-visit for anyone interested in science, history, or simply breathtaking surroundings. Highly recommended!

14/03/2025: The pizza was excellent, unfortunately I think that over 20 euros for a pizza is too expensive.

17/01/2025: Food was fabulous. Pizza is brick oven and so so good. My chicken Parmesan was delicious The owners and staff were extremely friendly. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Tullamore and we have eaten all over the world

12/01/2025: Nice old pub, very clean and well kept. Also clean toilets which is a rarity in Irish pubs. The Guinness is excellent here too. But €13 for goujons and frozen chips? A total rip off.
