11/05/2025: We stopped in for lunch on our way through town and and had the absolute best bento box (duck for me and unagi for my brother). Everything was delicious, and the folks there super kind.

22/04/2025: I recently went here for sushi. I explained to the waitress that I have a shellfish allergy to let the chef know as I normally do at other sushi restaurants and she she looked at me like she didn't understand why I was telling her this and said " ok". I ordered what shouldn't have shellfish obviously and after I ate my throat started to swell and I had an allergic reaction. I was very disappointed obviously and lucky I don't have a severe allergy. I won't be eating here again and will return to my usual sushi restaurants instead.

05/05/2025: I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!! We came to eat at Luker's bar this Sunday. A group of 50 people from Belgium... We were given the warmest welcome! The emails we exchanged before our arrival, the welcome on site, and the services (meal, tour of the old pub, and musical entertainment) exceeded our expectations! We will definitely return if we return to the area!

27/04/2025: Very good steak. I never expect much from pubs and I'm usually spot on with my assumption. But this one is steakhouse quality striploin instead of the usual mediocre sirloin 👍

23/04/2025: Lovely breakfast burger 🍔 and chips. Toasted sandwich. Pancakes were 8 and 9 out of 10 for 2 fussy kids. Place was spotless. Staff helpful and friendly.

02/05/2025: It was so good to be back in Pauline's, and the food was as good as we remember it. Our fillet steaks were cooked exactly to our liking, and the chunky chips were divine. Amazingly, the owner remembered us from our visit two years ago and greeted us warmly. We also appreciated the happy birthday wishes, and our waiter was excellent. We look forward to eating there again tomorrow.

25/04/2025: Pauline's never disappoints excellent service and excellent food Edit:was in tonight. The food was great. Servers/waters are excellent. However, the host was not very obliging, which took the atmosphere out of the place I am sorry to say but if someone wants to have something of the kids' menu, what's the big deal we would have no problem paying the extra for an adults portion but to refuse put us off

10/05/2025: Amazing place. Quiet and quaint. Being in the castle is amazing but the surrounding area is equally as enchanting. There are paths through the forest, a river nearby, ancient ruins, intricate wood carvings, and even horses. Food was delicious and the staff were excellent. We really enjoyed talking to the late bartender after dinner.

06/05/2025: Beautiful castle to stay in, lovely food and a nice comfortable bar & also very nice staff who couldn't do enough for you. Also there is a lovely walk along the river where you can take some nice photos.

02/10/2024: Recently moved to Birr and have found this to be the best pizza by far. I was in to pick up our pizzas for what was maybe our 4th order in two months. I dropped one while walking out and they replaced it without charge right away. Unquestionably excellent service on top of epic pizzas. Unreservedly recommended.

29/08/2024: We were told so many good things about their pizza we absolutely had to check it out! We had some questions, which were all answered, and that was a big help because we weren’t sure what to order. So we got a surprise pizza and it was amazing! The dough was just perfect, and it took less than 10 minutes. Definitely recommend!

22/02/2025: Bartender extremely hostile and rude , in as a family for a the rugby and was told the place isn’t a creche. Kids were quiet and as soon as the rugby ended we were told it isn’t a creche, happy to take our money until that point.

26/04/2025: Joe Lee’s Bar is a real treasure in the heart of Tullamore. It has that perfect cosy pub atmosphere where you instantly feel at home. Whether you’re just dropping in for a quiet drink or meeting up with friends, it’s always welcoming and full of character. The garden area at the back is a hidden gem - a lovely space to enjoy a pint outdoors, especially when the weather is good. There’s often live music and events on, which really add to the buzz. If you’re lucky enough to catch their Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo on a Sunday, you’re in for a brilliant night, great craic and lots of laughs! The staff are fantastic, the service is always spot on, and there’s just a real community feel about the place. I’d highly recommend Joe Lee’s Bar to anyone looking for a genuine, lively pub experience in Tullamore. It’s the kind of spot you’ll want to come back to again and again!

06/05/2025: Had a lovely morning at the Bakehouse. Great outdoor seating area where we were served a delicious breakfast by friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend hiring bikes and cycling along the canal. Will be back! Claire (Sea Dew B&B)

26/04/2025: Ballycommon Bakehouse is an absolute gem! From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by a warm, friendly atmosphere and a beautiful setting. The café itself is cosy and inviting, and the outdoor area is simply perfect for sunny days, peaceful, spacious, and the ideal spot to sit back and relax. One of the things I love most is how dog-friendly it is. After a lovely walk along the nearby canal, it’s wonderful to be able to stop in with your four-legged friend and enjoy a coffee or a delicious meal without any hassle. The food is consistently fantastic, fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re popping in for a quick treat or settling in for a relaxed lunch, Ballycommon Bakehouse never disappoints. The staff are genuinely lovely too — always welcoming, attentive, and helpful, which adds to the whole experience. I would absolutely recommend Ballycommon Bakehouse to anyone looking for a great café/restaurant with a relaxed, friendly vibe. It’s a little treasure and well worth a visit!

27/04/2025: A really bad experience unfortunately, as we were really looking forward to having a nice meal here. I had pil pil prawns and my husband had wing's to start, both came out cold not even warm! I handed mine back and they were just placed under the salamander and brought back out to me still cold!!! Nobody came back to see if the 2nd lot were OK. My husband just ate the cold wing's. I then got featherblade of beef which tasted OK but was again cold. My husband got the striploin steak asked for it medium but it came out burnt and very fatty and quite small. We waited 50 mins between starter and the mains and only got our main after we asked where was out food. I was very disappointed with the meal and the service.
