09/03/2025: I was on my way to Limerick and stopped for a walk in the forest and hotel grounds. Then noticed the American flag and not the EU flag even though they are in Europe. Besides that flying the flag of a country that is quickly becoming Facist and is siding with Russia who illegally invaded Ukraine. I think it's disgraceful that the hotel would fly the flag.

05/02/2025: By pure luck, I found myself at Kinnity Castle Hotel while hiking a loop in the area. I stopped for lunch and couldn’t recommend the seafood chowder more—it’s easily one of the best I’ve had in Ireland. Even bread was so delicious. The interiors are stunning, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Despite showing up in hiking gear with a wooden stick in hand, I was treated with the same warmth as any other guest. Not a single word was said about my attire, which I truly appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this place to all my friends.

16/02/2025: Best Indian I have had in a long time. Nan bread is sensational. Proper tikka cooked chicken.

04/09/2024: stopped for coffee and breakfast after a nice run along the banks of the adjacent entrance canal. the bake house is located in an idyllic setting, close to the banks of the canal. We ordered some coffee and some granola pots for breakfast. The food was tasty and filling service was excellent and the coffee was also very good. This is a perfect spot for a stop off for some cake coffee or breakfast.

11/03/2025: Excellent location, directly across from shops and a cinema. Easy walk to some nice restaurants. The hotel is decorated lovely, with open fires and comfortable seating areas. My room wasn't the largest, but the bed was big. There were plenty of sockets in the room, including by the bed. There was also several USB charging points. Bathroom was lovely and one of the best hotel showers I have used. Bath/shower combo. The bed was comfortable, but I found the pillows to be hard and flat. Tea/coffee supplies in the room as well as water. I had breakfast included, waiter service for hot breakfast and buffet style for cold breakfast.

08/03/2025: Massage(day spa offer on groupon) I went for a massage in the spa and Samantha looked after me.The massage was excellent and she was very attentive. The leisure centre is small but pleasant. The relaxation room could do with better relaxation beds the ones currently there are garden furniture with insufficient cushioning. Not very comfortable. Overall it was a pleasant few hours with the help from Samantha...

22/11/2024: The past 3 times I have ordered a kebab meal each time they have got it wrong I live 15mins away so just end up throwing away each time ..food is usually good but must cheak before leaving

10/10/2024: This is such a beautiful spot. We walked down from the square and glad we passed the other few cafes on the way down. It was busy which is always a good sign. We ordered some breakfast paninis, Tea and a Latte. Portions were enough to satisfy and the taste was divine. Lovely atmosphere with more to the cafe then the front room. Great value for the quality of the food and service. If you're in Birr pop in you won't be disappointed. Had to buy some cake and Gluten free buns before we left. Couldn't resist...

04/02/2025: This is a lovely little stop-off on my regular walking route with the dog. I'll normally get a matcha latte (and the odd vegan special), and the dog will grab a side of sausage. The staff are all really lovely, the service is great, they sell really nice Irish produce, support some great causes, the sandwiches are full of flavour, and given there are local coffee shops charging over five euro for a coffee, the prices are still pretty reasonable.

11/03/2025: Had a lovely dinner here, good sized portions. We had three courses. We were a walk-in on a Monday evening, it was busy but they found us a window. I thought it was good value for money and average price for our 3 courses was €35.

20/02/2025: Very nice food. Place was pretty full so we were seated beside the door. Had to keep my coat on as there was a cold breeze every time the door opened which was often as there's a takeaway service too. Upstairs seemed pretty small and tables close to the loo.

23/02/2025: When I say their sandwiches are amazing, they really are. I can't not stop by to get a sandwich if it's near enough to lunch time. They offer a great selection of coffees, sandwiches, and breakfasts. They have really healthy options too for those who are looking for those. Their staff are great too and are always so helpful and friendly.
