The best restaurants in Offaly

11/05/2026: I'm not a big fan of fast food, but recently needs must and I bought some food in Angelo's as they were recommended and it was an excellent recommendation, the chicken fillet burger meal was delicious, freshly cooked, yes you had to wait because they were busy but it was worth it. Delicious food and very reasonably priced.

10/06/2026: Great little spot but we found it understaffed and overly buisy. Older crowd inside the pub much younger crowd in the brilliant beer garden.now I would have to say it was a Sunday night of the bank holiday weekend.

15/06/2026: For anyone not from the area I would highly recommend avoiding this place. 2 really rude staff members,need to brush up on your customer skills. Should have known from her face 🤣 didn't get a name of her or the guy with the glasses. Couldn't be bothered finding out.

28/06/2026: The food itself was lovely, but unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. The service was extremely slow. One drink came out to the table first and when handed to me i realised the top of the can was filthy. The food arrived and still no sign of the second drink. I went up to the counter and brought it to one of the waitresses attention and she proceeded to then bring down the wrong drink. There also seemed to be wider issues with the service that day — tables around us were also complaining about missing food, and one table had finished an entire plate before the rest of their order arrived. The biggest issue for me was finding a piece of metal in my food halfway through the meal, which meant I had to stop eating. When I brought this to the server’s attention, I was disappointed that there was no real attempt to resolve the situation, and I had to ask myself for some kind of compensation. It’s a shame because the food quality was good, but the poor service and the food safety concern completely affected the experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves these areas.

28/04/2026: Always a good spot to pop in for a pint or a sandwitch & a coffee. Very friendly spot & the drinks are of a high standard. Highly recommend.

07/01/2026: The place is okay. We paid €200 a night for 2 people, which is a lot, but understand, given there was a wedding and Country Arms Birr was fully booked, and it was NYE. Still, it was quite a shocking price—but then again, Ireland. It's expensive for what it is, but that's the nature of supply and demand, as they say. We stayed in the front room, and the traffic noise was really bad. Worse than that, the heating in the room was off, and we couldn’t find anyone to help us, so there was no solution, and it was freezing. We woke up with the heat on in the morning. It also has a breakfast with it, Irish fry up. It's okay.

01/04/2026: Very welcoming staff with good facilities, although tye rooms could do with a mirror and dressing table for the ladies. Located within a 3-5 minute walk to the centre of Tullamore.

07/05/2026: Found this little gem whilst attending a wedding in Birr. So glad I did. As someone who likes Indian food, this unassuming little restaurant in Birr provides some of the best Indian food I've ever had, at sensible prices too! Don't miss it! Book if you can - we just walked in and were lucky enough to find a table. Enjoy!

03/05/2026: The food was nothing special. I didn't even get water; only half of the menu was available, and the wait was very long for half the room.

30/06/2026: We enjoyed few dinners and few cocktails in this restaurant in the last couple of years and food was always great and service was ok but today I had to basically chase the waiters to place an order. After dinner we asked for desert menu, menu was brought to the table but no one followed up to take the order nor clear the table in case we wanted tea or coffee with desert...I had to go over to look for a waiter to ask for desert. At last we asked for the bill and again no one came to the table to collect the bill card and give change, and I had to look for them at the bar where three waiters were standing and chatting away! Such a lovely place pity the service is poor even on a Tuesday afternoon when it wasn t very busy!

27/06/2026: The vegan menu could be improved. Bruschetta is not a main course, no matter what anyone says. The Thai Green Curry costs a lot for how much you get. If Tofu was added to it, without adding to the current cost. It would be good value.

15/02/2026: First time for Sunday lunch in Larkins today we both had the lamb which was perfectly cooked with a selection of 3 veg and 3 different type of potato. 15 euro ahead which was a great price and I would definitely recommend 👌
