03/01/2025: Unfortunately there were no breakfast options left as they'd had a busy morning. Usually they have an all day breakfast menu which is handy for a Sunday. I was disappointed, but staff were v apologetic

02/01/2025: Love this place for food especially the Chicken Tikka Masala, its absolutely delicious...The servings are just enough so no waste.. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and a very relaxing atmosphere.. I would definitely recommend whether it's a take away or lunch with family and friends 😁

04/10/2024: We’ve just returned after two really enjoyable days at Townsend House in Birr. The warmth, hospitality and comfort at Townsend House was truly five star. The breakfasts were brilliant and the tapas last night were gorgeous and served brilliantly. Well done to Martin and Lorraine and their staff.

31/12/2024: I thoroughly enjoyed my lemon muffin and medium hot chocolate here at Chocolate Brown, The hot chocolate was thick and delicious, my only critique is there were no marshmallows in it. The muffin on the other hand was perfect, fluffy and filling with tasty lemon curd in the middle. My biggest problem was the lack of seating inside but that’s it. I recommend.

10/01/2025: We accidentally dropped into this cozy brewery bar. We were greeted by a hospitable owner and a wonderful dog. We really liked this place, so authentic and traditional, imbued with Irish history. A cozy fireplace, candles, background Irish music create a special atmosphere of the bar. Very tasty beer, which is brewed right here. We asked if they make food, we were told that unfortunately they do not, however, a couple of minutes later the owner of the bar brought a dish of pork, cheese and delicious bread that he had prepared himself, so that the guests would not be hungry. Absolutely free! It was unexpected and so pleasant and we are very grateful! A soulful bar, we highly recommend visiting and a huge thank you to Kieran for such a wonderful time we spent in this place!

The main downside was that they couldn't cook chips in something other than meat fat and that there was no vegan garlic dip, still I appreciated that they make pizzas with vegan cheese that taste good 😊 decent price too at €16 for a large pizza.

25/11/2024: We went in this evening to the guys in Eskimo & they are just fabulous. The service is brilliant, so kind and friendly. We got our food and it was so nice. It’s definitely the best food in town. It is so fresh & really tasty. We go in here all the time but I had to leave a review this time because it’s always so good. Love this place.

09/02/2025: Group of 6 on 8th February 2025. Thick soup was definitely thick and so was I, the more the evening went on. One of the starters of spring rolls were still frozen in the centre. Now you know it's never made on site just bought in Frozen. I ordered Fillet steak and it smelled Ok. That's where it ended. Some of the thin strips of steak were still attached to a rubbery skin like layer and un-chewable. The whole plate of food was adhered to the plate in what looked like Cloudy congealed egg white. Probably some sort of MSG. They certainly didn't sprinkle it on. It appeared as if the pack had fallen in. My dish wasn't the only disaster and when we were asked at the end if everything was Ok., I said no and told the waiter it was the worst I'd ever eaten. I didn't cause a scene as I was in company but I can safely say you are taking a MASSIVE risk if you go here. The only reason I gave 1 star was so I could leave a review.. Oh and the one bottled beer I had, was good. In my honest opinion, this has to have been the worst Chinese restaurant experience I've ever had and I'm no teenager. I'd try anything once and twice If I liked it but this place is Total rubbish. Avoid at all costs or it'll definitely cost you..
