The best restaurants in Offaly

12/08/2026: I visited Costa Edenderry today with my baby and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The manager was the person dealing with us when we came in, and I found her very rude and unwelcoming from the start. I asked if she could heat my baby’s bottle safely behind the counter, but she initially ignored me and didn’t respond. I had to ask her a second time before she acknowledged me. She then said, “We’re not really allowed to do it.” I explained that I had never had an issue with Costa heating my baby’s bottle before and asked why it couldn’t be done. Instead of offering a helpful alternative, she gave me a cup with a small amount of water in it and handed it to me. As you can see from the photo, this wasn’t a practical way to warm my baby’s bottle. As a mother with a hungry baby, I found the whole experience very upsetting. I completely understand if there is a health and safety policy preventing staff from heating baby bottles, but I would have expected a little more understanding and compassion, particularly from the manager. Most places I have been to have been accommodating when I’ve needed to warm my baby’s bottle, especially when I’m coming into the business and spending money there. I genuinely hope no other parent has to find themselves in the same situation with a hungry baby. Even if the answer was no, I believe the situation could have been handled with much more kindness, professionalism and understanding. Unfortunately, the manager’s attitude and customer service really let the experience down. I hope Costa Edenderry takes this feedback seriously.

10/09/2026: I'd know your so bad but paid for forced salt and vinegar chips when I'd can't intake vinegar and was Ashbourne that most serious one and Ashbourne when my eyes were done is the worst one

12/07/2026: Had tenders and chips, tenders very poor, tough, small a chewy. Chips Ok, not great. Service a bit slow for a take out

17/04/2026: This place came highly recommended by a friend so I had high expectations and it did not disappoint. I got classic burrito bowl and it was so delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I was served by a lovely man who was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be back time and time again.

16/05/2026: Tasty vegetarian breakfast (missing something though, maybe add halloumi?), but unfortunately I can’t say the same for the coffee. The smashed avocado (forgot to take a pic) was smothered in hollandaise sauce, which took away the flavour of the avocado. The service was great, the young girl who served us was very friendly and accommodating.

14/08/2026: Food is amazing. Didn’t even get to take it home 😅 smelt so good we grabbed some cutlery out the boot and ate it whilst parked up in the car🤣 had the duck in plum sauce and the beef in hot garlic sauce. Flavour is amazing. And the fried noodles are so much better than anywhere I’ve gone before. And I’ve tried so many Chinese restaurants this one beats them all. Cost us €26 for 2 people

08/05/2026: It’s the best Chinese take away in Edenderry highly recommend although they can be slow picking up the phone sometimes due to inexperienced staff taking orders which in fairness isn’t a big deal. Highly recommended

11/08/2026: Staff were so friendly and helpful. Order at the counter only, this was a welcome interaction with real people ☺️

06/08/2026: Lovely spot for a quick bite. You can never go wrong with supermacs. Staff were so lovely and service was stellar.

30/07/2026: Went this morning, asked for an acai bowl, was told by the girl that they don't have acai base, then I chose mango for me and my colleague, then suddenly she has the acai base, there was a drizzle of peanut butter and no granola, which she had made me pay full price for the acai bowl but failed to mention the no granola part, I drove back around said to her that she forgot the granola, and said easily back to me 'Oh, sorry we don't have granola' which is just ridiculous

19/07/2026: When I'm with my son and his wife in Tullamore, I always try to include a visit to Chocolate Brown. The service is great, no matter how busy they get, the coffee is well above average and though other cafes serve similar cakes, sausage rolls etc, the quality of those from Chocolate Brown is higher ensuring a more satisfying eat. Overall the place delivers a great experience - superior to many a more pretentious and expensive city centre coffee shop / cafe.

17/08/2026: The food is always up to standard and fresh. The staff are welcoming & very friendly, always up for a good chat. Highly recommend. The coffee’s are absolutely delicious too.

11/08/2026: Very unpleasant experience. I was surprised by the lack of basic hygiene when preparing coffee. I repeatedly saw staff brush off excess coffee and then tamp the portafilter with their bare palm. Different employees did this. During shifts, they also handled surfaces and even a trash bin, then continued working with coffee without washing hands. For a place serving drinks, this is unacceptable and not sanitary. After seeing this, I felt uncomfortable buying coffee. I hope management addresses this and improves staff hygiene training.

05/09/2026: Brilliant people. Fixed my sons bike a few times now, straight away, no appointment. Also you can pay off bikes here.

12/06/2026: Myself and my father come here atleast once per week sometimes twice, food is always very tasty, nice sized portion and the price is good. The staff are also lovely and always welcome you with a smile! Recommend if you want a nice evening takeaway!

09/07/2026: Absolutely lovely food presented so well it looked good and tasted even better so so nice .we were a Group of 6 staff were extremely attentive and friendly would highly recommend. All plates empty we had starters and main no delay on service even with the hot weather it was lovely and cool 10 out of 10 would recommend thanks again. Will return .

22/05/2026: Was staying in Tullamore with my mum and was looking for a Chinese restaurant to eat. Google gave us the recommendation of this restaurant and me and mum were very happy with the food and service.
